REDvets: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Had the privilege of having the wonderful Vet Jess look after our cat. Jess went above & beyond. We are so grateful for Jess. Her bedside/ clinical manner was exceptional. She really is a beautiful soul, so compassionate & caring. We really appreciate her. Highly recommend Jess! What an asset to RedVets!
Fantastic experience: Our Derby We cannot thank the team at Redvets enough for the incredible care, skill, and compassion they showed our beloved cat, Derby. From the moment we walked in during an emergency, they treated her immediate care as a priority. They tried beyond measure to save her — explaining every option, working tirelessly, and using every ounce of their medical expertise. What stood out most was their honesty and empathy. They never gave up on Derby, but they also never let us feel alone or uninformed. Even in the hardest moments, their respect for Derby’s dignity and our bond with her was obvious. They gave her gentle care, pain management, and so much love right to the end. To the vets, nurses, and support staff: you are exceptional humans doing extraordinary work. We are devastated to lose Derby, but we’re at peace knowing she had the very best team fighting for her. Thank you for your skill, your hearts, and for honoring our girl. “There was tough!!!!! Then there was DERBY ” RG & Meg
Negative experience: Friendly and prompt service in clinic, but the treatment didn’t hold. My dog’s facial wounds were glued instead of stitched, reopened within 12 hours ($575) and I was told I’d need to pay again for another follow up consult just to reassess to then pay for further treatment to close the wound again. Disappointing outcome for the cost.
Fantastic experience: They look after my beloved dog and provided us a medical result after an hour and we make an immediate decision after we found out what is the cause of our old boy sufferings. I like the honesty of the vet staff, my old boy had a good life for 13 yrs but if it's time to say goodbye we need to let him go to end the suffering. Thank you REDVets staff, appreciate you good services. It's not an easy job for you guys and you deserve a respect.
Fantastic experience: The vet and admin staff we dealt with were very understanding and patient. We are so greatful they were available on a weekend, after hours.
Fantastic experience: I just recently took my deadbeat Labrador (who I love to death) to REDVets late at night after he ate something once again. This is the second time I am convinced the wonderful staff at REDVets have saved his life. I cant be more grateful. The staff have been wonderful everytime I have spoken with them. I am so grateful for everyone one of them.
Fantastic experience: Had to rush my 15yr old cattle x shepherd to the vet at 9pm on a Thursday night with an unknown condition. Staff were kind and compassionate in my state of distress. I was fully informed of what was happening and my options along with the costs. My girl had blood tests and stayed overnight with fluids and medication and was much better when I collected her the following morning. The cost was definitely less than I expected for such a visit.
Fantastic experience: Had a great experience at Redvets. Can't thank all the vets and vet nurses that looked after our little dog after an adventure with the compost bin!!!
Fantastic experience: Super friendly and quick to respond to a 3am emergency with our little Staffy. Truly appreciate the redvet team!
Fantastic experience: Had to take our old dog to red vets as it was a public holiday. The vets, nurses and reception team were truly wonderful! We did have a sad ending unfortunately but their compassion for our dog and our family at a difficult time was truly amazing. Would highly recommend this vet to anyone!
Fantastic experience: Had to do an emergency visit for my 12 year old dog, who got sick very quickly and had to be euthanized. The vet & nurse staff were all amazing - So kind and empathetic. Would highly recommend using their services.
Fantastic experience: The service from the Team are amazing from the minute I rang and booked an appointment to our mums dogs surgery. We are so grateful
Fantastic experience: Dr saved our cat’s life and understood that we didn’t have much money, and worked with us to get treatment that we could afford. Very compassionate and understanding staff
Fantastic experience: My dog was bitten by another dog and I received excellent service at redvets Toowoomba.
Fantastic experience: I want to say a big thank you to the lovely lady at Red Vet who assisted me yesterday evening. I came in a blubbering mess. Having found cat on the road that had passed on. I know I’m not the first person to cry in your clinic but it was a such a comfort. Thank you. You made a very confronting experience feel ok because I knew I was handing a poor animal into the arms of a truly kind human.
Fantastic experience: Dr Ellie successfully treated our dog Annie on a Sunday evening after a bout of suspected HGE. She explained things clearly and provided an accurate cost estimate. Although it is expensive to attend an emergency vet - you are paying for highly qualified medical professionals to work at all hours of the night. I’m very grateful that we were able to collect our dog the next morning and that she is recovering well ❤️
Fantastic experience: Very professional and friendly staff providing an excellent service for my sick pet dog.
Negative experience: Not taking animals if it’s not a pet
Fantastic experience: Incredibly knowledgeable and hardworking team. I will forever be grateful for all the wonderful staff, they saved our Charlotte.
Fantastic experience: Amazing experience, brought my male cat in for an emergency and was handle with speed and care, genuinely had you and your pets best interest at heart and very transparent throughout his stay, with updates and recommendations. Couldn’t be happier with the service, unfortunately I don’t remember the lady’s name but the woman I was dealing with, while being as busy as she could be was unbelievably helpful and empathetic and quick. Thank you all for your quick contribution and great service.
Fantastic experience: Friendly desc staff and vets. Knowledgable professional and cheaper than expected for 11 at night
Fantastic experience: Great caring service and professionalism for the euthanasia of our little boy! Can’t thank enough.
Fantastic experience: They did a fantastic job looking after my greyhound- and made sure to check her bloods against greyhound specific guides rather than generic dog ones- which makes a big difference. They kept her overnight and her condition improved significantly by the time I picked her up the next day.
Negative experience: Pure Evil, watching her suffer as the staff didn't offer water whilst waiting and no other people the staff knew she'd had 3 seizures that Day my pay didn't go through on-time and my father doesn't use key cards . He goes to the post office . I finally took her to Marburg they said they take vet pay yet demanded 390$ just to say hello? No Water. I took my vet pay to Marburg guys my dog first time she slept well no seizures and treated I'm Steve Banyard I work for Toowoomba jewelers Volks " in Margaret street my dog is a great Dane and I believe they are worse than lawyer's. My dog is my everything? Pure Negligence....!¡!!!!!!! I Will be seeing our local member
Fantastic experience: Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Always a pleasure to deal with. I have owned cats since 1986. So I do my research. NEVER, go to a vet unless you research FIRST. Its your pet and a member of your family. Would you buy a house or car without research? How much more valuable is your pet? To the people that have a bad experience, name and shame, only needs to be a first name. But also, treat people how you like to be treated. Just like doctors, some are good, some are bad.
Fantastic experience: Red Vets told me on Wednesday my beautiful Border Collie Duma had no heartbeat after an accident, the care and compassion was so real, sadly the very next day we had to take Salty one of our baby goats in with a paralysis tick, same staff and vet, went above and beyond to save our little girl. Words cant express our appreciation. Thankyou from the bottom of our hearts.
Fantastic experience: Thank you so much for helping my little pup last night who was terribly uncomfortable. He is feel like Ng much better and back to his old self. You are amazing!
Negative experience: Horrible place, no empathy, no care, turned me (15 year old with my 18 year old sister) away because my mother couldnt pay a $200 deposit (that wasnt a deposit, that was half, deposits should only be 10-20%) as she was off by $20, my cat was literally peeing blood and we came from the lockyer valley and whem my cat was given back, the nurse was so rude, unemotional about my situation and started raising her voice at me and told me people like me and my mother are reasons why the suicide rates of the vets are so high, sure my mother yelled over the phone but this lady was incredibly rude ato her beforehand and roughly handled my cat. We had to go to another vet, it was 1am by then, my sister was exhausted, the other vets were kind and my cat was in very bad condition, we barely got there in time, if only the vet here had done something then he wouldnt be in the condition he is now. The nurse was in a pinkish/magenta type shirt, average height, a bit overweight (not being rude), long brown hair and tan/nearly pale skin
Fantastic experience: AMAZING!!! I rang ahead with a snake bitten dog. We arrived and the staff were waiting, they took him in, came and explained things to us, began treatment immediately. The Vet on Duty was Awesome with her information, the staff were all so caring and considerate. Yes, it is expensive, but it was all explained beforehand. It was after hours 10.00pm, but that didn't make any difference, so are Doctors and Medical Specialists expensive. Our dog stayed in overnight, we got updates during the night and the next day as well. Could not ask for any better care for our dog and the main thing, we still have him. So, so grateful, words can't explain. We were also given advice (on request) regarding Pet Insurance, which we now have for our dog. Ever so grateful to the whole team. Mark, Judy & Toby.
Negative experience: A team of vets that work on commission. I arrived at RedVets still uncertain of exactly what was wrong with my dog, but I knew it wasn’t good. The tests done at my local vet were sent over for them to check and review and provide emergency surgery with aftercare. I was alone and waiting for my husband and I stated to the vet that I wanted to wait for him so she could tell him what she had told me because I was emotional and all the words were a lot to take in, she said that was fine but they needed to start on a blood test first so they could get a better understanding. They said I’d have to sign an agreement on pricing before proceeding (which I did not) But because I agreed and said once the test was done to then wait and re-explain to my husband so we knew exactly what was going on and the cost, that was classed as a formal agreement to a minimum 2,500$ before any surgery was done. 1 test turned into multiple. Even after my husband arrived and they reiterated that surgery could be up to $6,000 or more he said we would take her back to our local vet for the same surgery at less than half that price. My husband asked immediately for a cost breakdown right now which went from 1500 to 2500 and then still never came back with an exact figure. She then said she would be admitted for surgery and wouldn’t have surgery until tomorrow, which we declined and said we will take her with us and take her to our local vet, who we were in constant communication with and knew the information we were being told by RedVets didn’t align with what actually needed to be done. We still hadn’t received a break down on current costs and didn’t until it was time to pay. The invoice was $1,086.00 and all they did were the same tests already completed. At one point she even said she can medicate her and possibly not put her through surgery, which was wrong she definitely needed surgery, The front desk lady shrugged her shoulders laughed and said I don’t know why you are complaining about a bill when you came in here aware of it possibly being 6-10 thousand dollars. Once my bill was paid, I asked her to get my dog, she did and my little girl was slow moving and she yanked her along and handed the lead to my husband. Now today I find out that RedVets are a commission based vet which is why the costing can vary so much. The lady at the front stated ‘I deal with this all the time complaints on bills’ I said I’m being very calm and not being rude she still laughed and became more rude. I’d suggest if you want your dog to be well cared for by people who aren’t basing your animals sickness off how much money they can personally make then take them anywhere but here. I’m not the only one who has a review like this. A company who wants to profit off the sickness and declining health of animals rather than dealing with compassion and empathy for the situation. A complaint from them stating they always get abused but in this case they had a customer who was calm and patient with them while they treated me like I was garbage. The worst vet practice and vets in QLD by far.
Fantastic experience: My dog had to be admitted overnight. Everything was explained to me about the treatment she needed including the cost. All the staff were just so lovely to myself but most importantly to my puppy, who is like my baby. They called me twice to give me updates and results. I thoroughly recommend them and I have no reservations to go back if the need ever arises.
Fantastic experience: @ 2 Margaret St Toowoomba. Vet so calm and reassuring with the family. We think max the cat got stung by a wasp.
Fantastic experience: Louie and the caring team are wonderful people to care for your pets. Always kind, gentle and understanding. Highly recommend them to anyone who is worried and concerned for their loved animals. Best of care Always. ♥️
Fantastic experience: We've had two emergencies in the last 4 weeks with our boys. We are so lucky to have this available in Toowoomba. Both both boys survived thanks to the skill and care of the team
Fantastic experience: Such great people that work here. From the receptionist to the vets, we have been so happy that our Mazie found Dr Arna , as a vet she treated her like her own such an amazing vet.
Fantastic experience: Since moving back here 3 years ago we have had to rush our baby over 6 times to Redvet for various emergencies. Every single time the we have been met with the most caring and compassionate vets and nurses you could ask for. They listen to us and explain every step with warmth and understanding. I honestly cannot thank them or recommend them enough they are all angels in my eyes. Thankyou all from Diesel's Mum
Fantastic experience: This was our first visit and we were impressed. Really lovely people. The vet we saw was kind and gentle with our anxious, old dog. Excellent service, advice and treatment, for our dog, at a distressing time.
Negative experience: We had our first and hopefully last visit to this place yesterday. The receptionist was great but the Vet was great at gaslighting. I didn't take the bait and remained calm but I wanted to leave to be away from the very confrontational vet. You can clearly see from other reviews this is not the first occasion. Probably great as a vet just should be kept away from the owners. The standard vet rip off but you do expect that from a place like this.
Fantastic experience: First vet ever (we have been to many vets moving around for my partners footy) that just gives straight forward tests and diagnosis. They took her in last minute, and treated her instantly. We’re still figuring out what is completely wrong but so far our experience has been nothing but amazing. Our baby is getting the best care she has ever gotten. We can’t thank the vets here enough. We truly wish we came sooner.
Fantastic experience: I absolutely love this vet they have been very helpful friendly and professional prompt in treating My fur Baby they treated My with respect and understanding I will definitely use them again
Negative experience: Lack of empathy and compassion, as if they have gone numb to sick animals. It was really uncomfortable and I felt like a fool for even racing Bailey up there after he had been vomiting for hours. First point of call on desk walked out and just made me feel stupid and she had not so much emotion or empathy at all. She just was more concerned about the money it would cost as it was 11:30 pm and I was very very emotional and concerned for my beautiful Bailey boy. The lady vet who was on basically said look not sure what is going on but he can either have an injection and a pro biotic or put him in on drip overnight. Not one blood test or X-ray or nothing to find out any of his issues. I very firmly said he would not be staying. I did not get a very good vibe at all about this place. She stated ok I will give him something, came back in consult room with the product already in syringe and a pro biotic, I have no idea what it was and I guess I was to concerned for him as he was sick. Vet then basically left room and said I could go. Lady behind desk gave me the bill and said I can claim if I had benefits which I do have Medibank pet insurance. She was so no helpful at all actually very arrogant. I left feeling like crap, cried all the way home. I then took Bailey to VetLove who did bloods X-rays and medication food for half the price. The place is absolutely horrible. Bill attached even a syringe which I did not need was billed to me ??? Come on guys really. I so wish I had taken some one with me they took advantage of me in a variable state and charged me for things I did not need. Check before you leave what you are paying for or have some one with you to assist. The care on an emotional level was zero it was as I was talking to auto pilot people, was surreal Find another vet!!!!! Fully avoid!!!
Fantastic experience: I am honestly so greatful to these guys, they helped me so much with my cat She had an absis burst on her back due to past injury i thought it was something soo much worse, I called them and they informed me of the consultation fee before and after 12am. I rushed her in. We waited less then 5 minutes in the waiting room for them to come see us. We paid for all treatment after it was completed and we were informed of a price range that was accurate before we paid!. She was given the best care and it only took 30 minutes for them to complete the treatment for it. The vet was so calm and just happy to see her, she was able to handle my stress levels and put my mind at ease! THANK YOU REDVETS! ❤️. Photo of my happy kitty who's now going to feel so much better after visiting them! ❤️
Negative experience: They are the worst vets around. I took my possum into them, she had a baby in pouch, she had been hit by a car. They refuse to tell me where that baby is, they refuse to contact the carers that took it, they are rude, all they care about is money. They don’t care that I now have a fretting father possum. DO NOT USE THEM. I strongly think they put that baby down… when it was a okay…
Fantastic experience: Amazing team of Vets!!! We've visited a few times now with our dogs with different emergencies and they are such kind and compassionate staff and have all the equipment to make a quick diagnosis that you know your furry loved one is in good hands
Negative experience: You loved your animals, don’t go here. The staff have no people skills, they don’t listen to you, they think the no better when they don’t. Dismiss everything you say. They will lie to make you spent more money. They keep rooms too hot for the animals. They lost your dogs toys collar and lead. They have so many staff, say they are keeping close eye on them. If I could no stars I would. The owner of that clinic needs to start looking into reviews, I am not the first person to say this, it seem very month someone say the same thing. Our French bull dog walked in there on his own and never walked out. It like staff likes to play god, they make their mind up who should lives and dies. Yes my French bull dog was, he was strong will and he wanted to keep playing. They put him under to X-ray and he got off the tablet and wanted to play. We told 3 times he can’t handle the heat, he doesn’t like heat. They dismiss everything we said. He was wanting to play, we saw him, he was fine and doing better. 2 hours later he spiked at temperate and took a fit, which killed him. When he walked in to this vet, he didn’t have fever. They said they keep comfortable until we got up. They were breathing for him, he was dead. So they lie to make money. They said they were doing hand over and they said hour and half later he had temp. They also said they have a nurse watching him at all the time. Which they didn’t put into cage in the hot room which kill him. They had 5 people in that back area and they didn’t check and show us the wrong x-ray The vets play god, they lie to make money. They don’t care. Before anyone said I am upset because I lost my dog, I am angry and mad. Plus I have medical background. So I understand really well. Vets in Toowoomba need to stop sending people to this clinic.
Fantastic experience: So glad we found this vet. We had to take our Kelpie cross at 9pm on a weeknight. We were home by 10:30pm and our Pup slept like a baby that night and is completely back to normal now. Meghan the vet that looked after was so nice and very knowledgeable, she knew what was wrong almost instantly and showed genuine care to our dog and explained everything to me really thoroughly. All of the staff were super lovely and friendly. The cost was reasonable, especially considering it was an after hours appointment (less than $600 for consultation, blood tests, anal exam and anti nausea injection). I highly recommend if you need a vet after hours that you take your pet here.
Fantastic experience: Thank you for doing everything you could for Lilly and all of you for being so kind to us. I’m so grateful we have a 24 hour vet hospital here.
Negative experience: Vet nurse at the front counter 12/06/2025 @6pm was one of the rudest individuals I’ve ever met in my life. Shoved an iPad in my face and asked to sign without the opportunity to read what I was signing. Decided not to sign and that I would rather give the money to green cross vets. Probably should let the vet nurse know she has pen ink on her face.
Fantastic experience: Veterinary staff are amazing took my sick 8th month old puppy with vomiting and diarrhoea not only were they compassionate and caring but totally helped keep to our small budget... can't thank them enough for their support and understanding.
Fantastic experience: Incredible staff, extremely helpful and kind. Helped out a lot during a real emergency with our dog late at night and made the whole process easier. Big thanks to all the staff
Fantastic experience: The staff here have been fantastic; responsive, professional and very open. They've been providing care for my pet for a serious medical condition that could have been fatal had they not diagnosed and treated it as rapidly as they did. They were always very up front with their pricing—yes, they are expensive but they are also open and staffed 24/7. I was consulted for all services provided, and I can't thank the staff here enough for their expertise and care.
Fantastic experience: First time last here night, my dog was really sick and I was so worried. The staff were BEAUTIFUL to me and my girl and apologised profusely for things taking longer than expected even though I did not mind as things are out of their control. The vet was so informative and I could tell she actually cared for my little girl.
Negative experience: If my cats experience wasn’t enough of an emergency for a vet to see me after I’ve been sitting in the room for half an hour, after being told 5-10 minutes, then why did you tell me to come in and not wait?
Negative experience: I took my cat to Redvet’s on a Sunday night because he was panting and disoriented they ran tests took x- rays, ultrasounds, glucose levels, oxygen, steroid treatments that was all fine they said he had feline asthma. Took him home next day with steroids thinking that it would get better. Next day he was worse took him to my vet on Monday morning and they picked up straight away that he had diabetes which Redvet’s tested his glucose but they never picked it up so really bad service
Fantastic experience: Thank you so much to Jess she was fantastic with my dog and knew straight away the issue. 10/10 for her service
Fantastic experience: A seamless, professional and very good experience after taking our Great Dane Floyd to Red Vets after he got into a stoush last night with a Goanna receiving several lacerations to one of his ears. Thanks soooo much to Vinny and the girls I dealt with, well done guy's. Kev Distant.
Negative experience: I’m very disappointed with the team that works at this veterinary clinic! I needed to take my cat back to the vet after he had completed the course of vitamin K due to rodent poisoning! He was not himself originally, so we took him to the vet in emergency and thankfully they helped him and he is “back to normal!” The vet advised that we had to take him back to the vet after he had been through the vitamin K. Upon taking him to the vet after his finishing on vitamin K, he was apparently not cooperative when they took him away to take bloods. It really does bother me that they were unable to take bloods because my cat was apparently uncooperative! I don’t know what actual vet is not been able to pacify an animal when they are out of their usual environment! Maybe if they used more than one experienced person who often worked with animals they may have been able to draw bloods! I did not agree to sedating my cat and returning to the vet surgery to pick him up! If we were advised by the person on the phone of the worst case scenario, which essentially this was, I would have taken my cat to the vet earlier in the day to negate any uncooperative nature he may have presented with. The vet who came to where I was waiting advised that it was “not funny” and they did not want to be taken to hospital due to my cat! I don’t know what kind of injury they were foreseeing but I am honestly shocked that they were not able to take bloods from my cat after he had finished vitamin K due to my cat being “uncooperative!” I spent a fortune on my cat with the original appointment costing over two thousand dollars, and I was purely taking him back to the vet after he had finished the vitamin K as I was following the advice of the vet I saw originally! I did not accept that I would have a sedated cat upon taking him back to the vet per the doctors direction! Well done REDVets for taking my time that I am never able to get back but thank you for saving my cats life!
Fantastic experience: Me dog charlie baker waz unwell had a stay cation there the nurses @vets went above @ beyond i would not hesitate in going there again very happy
Fantastic experience: Highly recommend. The vet was so caring and helpful and could tell he really loved the animals and helping them. Yes a bit more expensive than other vets but considering it was an emergency, I thought the pricing was very fair. Very happy to have this 24hr service available for our pets
Fantastic experience: Our dog recently did her cruciate ligament and we required urgent Veterinary care. Being new to Toowoomba we asked for recommendations. We were told to go to Red Vets who are the 24 hour Vet Hospital and are also connected to Toowoomba Family Vets which is their regular clinic/practice. We went straight there and only had to wait for a very short time to see a vet. We were advised that our dog required major surgery and she was booked in for the next day. They said they were happy to keep her that night or were happy for us to take her home if we felt comfortable with that which we did (sadly been down this road once before!) the vet advised us how to keep her comfortable with pain relief etc and asked us to have her back early the next morning. Saw another vet the next morning who was just as lovely as the one we met the previous day. The surgery went well and we are so thankful that we went to this practice. With follow up appointments we have now met three of the vets - Louie, Dave and Vinnie. Every one of them were so friendly and informative and went above and beyond to help us feel less stressed in what is a stressful situation. The other staff (Vet Assistants) were also so lovely and helpful. This is all just days before Christmas and they were so busy with emergency surgeries and still so happy to help us. We cannot recommend this practice more highly and they will be our Veterinary Clinic from here on in.
Fantastic experience: We live in Kingaroy, Queensland and in an emergency had no vets available. Raced him 2 hours too REDvets and I can't give them enough praise. Took him in instantly, were extremely accommodating. Saved our cats life and I can't put a price on their service. Thank you!
Fantastic experience: We had the unfortunate task of taking our dog to an emergency vet due to tick paralysis. A very scary and stressful time was eased by calling RedVets at 5am. They were calm and helpful. Upon arrival they assessed and diagnosed him while keeping us up to date. He spent 24 hours with them and 12 hours on a anti-tick toxin drip among other much needed assistance. They answered all my questions/phone calls with kindness. In my opinion the price of treatment was appropriate for the severity of the situation. All costs were explained up front. With their care, knowledge and compassion, they saved our doggos life. Thank you.
Fantastic experience: Very impressed with the care and attention the vets and nurses gave for my dog to save his life.
Fantastic experience: Our beautiful girl was not in a very good way at midnight, I called the caring and compassionate staff, thinking they would be inconvenienced by my call, but they were happy to help. Sadly I ha a to make the most painful call, but it was her time to go, and I didn't want her to suffer anymore. They gave me all my options, to save her or assist her. After, they organised for our loving family member to be taken by the caring staff at pets in peace. It was expensive, but at that hour of the night to make my girl nit suffer anymore it was well worth it, and cannot recommend them highly enough. Thankyou so much to all the staff that were I that night, it still hurts now as I write this, but I know everyone did their best and she is not in pain anymore
Negative experience: Today I called to follow up on wild Rainbow Lorikeet we rescued from a crow attack and dropped off to them. The girl on the phone made me feel like an inconvenience and was annoyed by my enquiry. She said, “I wasn’t on shift so I don’t know. It either went to a wildlife carer or it died!”. She was very condescending. 3 years ago this week our cat went into their care for an unknown health condition and put on IV fluids for several days. She was released back to us with Oedema throughout her entire body and them saying she was ok! She was clearly in worse condition than when she went in and with a $5000 bill to pay! We unfortunately had to euthanise her at another vet practice. I do not recommend this practice. I highly recommend Toowoomba Veterinary Hospital.
Fantastic experience: Thank you Red Vets! We are so grateful to your hospital, your intensive care practice recently saved the life of our 6 year old Cavoodle Peaches. From the first consultation right through her stay, you kept us up to date with her progress at all times of the day & night. Nothing was too much trouble for your Vets or nursing staff. We will be forever grateful to this wonderful practice.
Negative experience: They pull on your heart strings just to try and get you to pay an excessive amount of money for information/things we already knew about our fur baby in need we are all going through struggles at the moment to do with the cost of living and this vet is just pulling on your heart strings just to pay bill!!
Fantastic experience: This vet is amazing! I would recommend them to everyone. The staff are professional, knowledgeable and empathetic. I feel so comfortable leaving my dogs in their care.
Fantastic experience: Honestly the best vet in town, caring and compassionate. Wouldn’t take my dog anywhere else.
Negative experience: Worst ‘vet’ I’ve ever visited, earlier this year I found my cat on my property early hours of the morning he had been bitten by a snake and was at that time almost fully paralysed, I’d never dealt with this before so I was very hysterical and thought he was going to die. Obviously first instinct could barely think I took him to the closest vet to my residence that was also open at this early hour of the morning. I brought him to them and they took my cat out the back and I was not asked if I wanted to be with him or if I wanted to check on him or anything, next they tell me that I have to pay over $2000 to run tests to see if it was a tick or a snake bite, at this time the lady whom I spoke with said nothing can happen till I decide what I want to do, I informed the vet I was unable to pay that at this stage due to financial situations and that I also thought it was a very high bill for what it entailed, she informed me it’s due to the fact that it is an ‘emergency vet’. After this I quickly decided to take my cat to another vet as I felt they were pressuring me as any question I had for the lady she said that she wouldn’t recommend anything else expect this procedure which was over $2000 (she made me feel as if she was judging everything I was enquiring about) Anyways short story I informed them I was taking my cat to his normal vet to have help as I couldn’t afford this. The ‘receptionist’ at the time was a male with his hair tied back into a little bun and was wearing quite formal clothes. He informed me I had to sign release papers to take my cat, pay the emergency fee of over $100+ and he also gave his opinion to me very easily no hesitation, “if you wouldve kept your cat here it wouldn’t be an issue” he also informed me he was the receptionist which in actual fact he was lying to my face as he was the owner of RED VETS!!!!, what a joke!!!!. I wish I had the camera recording footage of this entire situation, now wouldn’t that just air things out for this business! The nurse then brought out my cat, dangling his body under her right arm that was held tightly under his front two legs like as if he was nothing but trash ready to be thrown out!!! I’ve never been so distrusting and disgusted so quickly about a vet before in such a short time. Red vets should be SHUT DOWN they do not represent anything that Vets are supposed to be about, care and welfare of animals?? Another occasion / My main family dog was also taken to this vet prior to this situation, they ran scans on a lump as he was developing them as he was getting older in age and they informed my family that the biopsy said it wasn’t cancerous…….which in fact it was after our main vets did the same biopsy test / weird different results / weird how the test came out different was it because they informed you they wouldn’t be coming back as they have their own family vet they usually take their dogs too. Guess no money to make there….. Greed looks super ugly and I would love for anyone at this vet to try and challenge what I’ve said, I’ll never forget this day EVER How can a vet be so money hungry and share no values for an animals life. I Do not usually right things such as this on people business but stuff that! Animals lives matter and so does their mental health
Fantastic experience: The staff at RedVets are all fantastic. Rudy and Meghan the vets looked after our 2 year old Labrador after she ate a pair of stockings. They were thorough, friendly, professional and compassionate. They nursed our Charley back to life. The ancillary staff were also amazing - extra phone calls were answered and nothing seemed too much trouble. Thank you RedVets
Negative experience: I wish I could put no stars but I can't. Money is the first priority of this vet. There is absolutely no empathy for animals at this place. My dog was hit by a car so took her there. Was shuffled into a room with the door closed behind me. Could not see my dog even tho I asked numerous times. These ppl jump on the money while you are in an emotional state. Was told there is no surgeon in Toowoomba and no option but to send her to Brisbane......absolute lie. Took her out of that place the next morning and to another vet in town who had a surgeon operate on her the next day. Absolutely discussing experience. Please do not take your pets here....they just don't care.
Fantastic experience: Dr Rudi and the team from REDvets was extremely compassionate and professional. They provided urgent surgery required for my cat and kept me updated along the whole process. He was able to reassure my partner and I that everything would be Ok. Highly recommend. Thank you for everything, Misha is thankful as well.
Fantastic experience: Wonderful to have this facility, being able access such great help at anytime of the day or night was so wonderful
Fantastic experience: Great, very friendly and experienced Vets and vet nurses highly recommend Redvets.
Negative experience: went there on monday normal day .. staff good ..girl vet good.. owner very rude only wanted me to spend obseen amount of money for teeth but my pups problem coundnt keep food down but he sadly died the next morning rang and told them couldnt care less ??? oh visit was very expensive
Negative experience: I did a vet nursing student placement with them, saw behind the scenes of the treatment of animals and chose to only do it for one day with them before leaving, I was suppose to do it for a year. I took my dog there a couple years before and found they charge you a ridiculous amount of money and they didn’t do anything to help our dog, had to go to another vet for help. Thought that going behind the scenes of the vet it would be better but was wrong
Fantastic experience: Just wanted to say thank you to the team for not giving up on our cat Lewie. They were all so kind and understanding. They helped organise a referral to a specialist and he is on the mend, from after what we all thought was his last days. Thank you so much.
Fantastic experience: Today we brought our Lucy girl (5 yr old kelpie) in who ended up needing emergency surgery after a vicious dog attack. While she is still in for the night. She is expected to make a full recovery and be home tomorrow. Thanks for everything guys
Negative experience: The experience at this veterinary was awful. I lost my fur baby three days ago. Paid $3500 for my cat to be get better but instead I received her dead body. My cat was sick on Monday afternoon and stopped eating and drinking. Took her to the vet and they said that she is mildly dehydrated and gave her injection for her nausea. Despite that she didn’t eat or drink at home. Then took her back to vet and kept her on IV drips while her condition was improving as per the morning shift vet. Later the vet in night shift said that my cat’s condition is declining and did her blood test which showed snake bite. I told the vet that my cat has been indoors all the time. My husband and I take her out for fresh air in our backyard under our supervision all the time. If she had the snake bite then we would have seen the snake. Despite my protest that it’s not a snake bite since she doesn’t have the wound. The vet said anti-venom is best to get her better. Although it was expensive, we wanted our baby to be saved and at home so we agreed for the treatment. After five hours, I get a call from the vet saying that my cat has gone into cardiac arrest and could not be resuscitated. My husband and I went to our baby as we couldn’t believe what just happened. I wanted to talk to the vet first but they brought my baby’s dead body to me which made me unable to talk to anyone. Then the vet didn’t even come to talk to me. The vet made wrong medical decisions which killed my cat. I know that I can do nothing to bring my cat back but I don’t want anyone with the fur baby to go through the emotions that I am going through at the moment. The vet and the staff there just want to make money and they don’t care about our feelings and love for our fur baby. They just wanted their bills to be paid.
Positive experience: Will post a review pending outcome. I was advised of upfront costs due to accidental fractures in my most beloved puppy. Am reassured that she's not alone overnight but fearful of tomorrow
Negative experience: Very poor service charged a Fortune for doing nothing and sent out pet home with exposed muscles in her back leg.. We have made a formal complaint with the veterinary association.. The only thing they were concerned about was the money.. BEWARE!!!!
Negative experience: My daughter dog passed under horrific circumstances and they would help us to have to dog cremated. My daughter money is managed trough pubkic trustee so couldn't reach them until the Monday morning. Red vets wanted us to pay for then to keep the dog overnight and then pay extra for cremation on the Monday. Her support workers managed to find another vet who helped us out AND cremated the poor dog for free
Positive experience: Losing a star due to reception Vet was lovely. The girl at reception needs to go to math class when working out physical change, and was very cold, and not good with clients when your cat is dying.
Fantastic experience: By far the best vets we have ever come across. Our dog Odin was what we thought on deaths door. We now have him home and healthy after only 24 hours. We can’t thank this incredible team enough for helping our sick boy. We cannot recommend your team enough, after the immense amount of anxiety we had, and you by far the best and to have such an incredible outcome we are blown away. Your team is by far exceeding every standard of veterinary care, every standard of vet nurse care that we have ever come across. Thank you so much and we have actually recommended you to so many people. We will now only deal with you because of this. Thank you again and we look forward to seeing you soon. The Luther Family
Fantastic experience: Thank you so much for the expert, professional and quick treatment you gave to Billy last Wednesday night / early hours Thursday after he was bitten under the chin....it all happened in a blur as these things often do but of course it was after hours for my Vets at Greencross...but thank goodness on their answering machine it said contact you !! The minute I came in I was reassured with the help I got from the nurse and the vet on duty. Glad to say Billy is nearly back to his old self and the stitches come out on Saturday. All the best Kevin
Fantastic experience: I don't usually post reviews, but this is an exemption after redvet saved my baby luca. He was sick since wednesday and was admitted on his regular vet. He was discharged friday evening and had follow up check up saturday afternoon. They said he was fine and will recover. However on Sunday, I have to take him to redvet as I noticed that he was peeing frank blood, lethargic and not eating. When I took him to redvet, he had an emergency. Blood clots and pus were flushed from his bladder. He was admitted from sunday to tuesday and was on IV Ab. The vets and staffs from redvet keep on updating me atleast 2-3 times a day. They are also very approachable and answers my questions. They are very professional and nice. Thank you to all the staffs and vets of redvet especially to dr louie, dr dave and dr kyline? (Im not sure about the name) and all the nurses who looked after luca..he is still recovering. thank you
Negative experience: Went there on Sunday morning and the receptionist/nurse was so rude and dismissive, very hard to believe she had any compassion for animals and obviously had zero concern for customer service
Negative experience: I took my cat there twice for peeing blood, each time they wanted money upfront despite proving I had insurance and access to vetpay. The first lady I seen said she believed the cat was stressed out and this was the cause but she wouldn't prescribe medication for that, only to reduce enflamation and wanted me to make changes. The second lady wanted me to make changes again. I know my cat she has always been one stressed out kitty and any changes I make are not going to fully solve her anxiety. There was one nice lady but I dont have respect for their policies or some of their staff. I now go to another vet (Toowoomba Vetinary Hospital) who have gone above and beyond their duty of care. Even during normal business hours they are more expensive aswell.
Negative experience: I don’t recommend this vet. We took our pup there charged us $400 to take a blood test. Told us the blood test came back with nothing in his blood for ticks or a snake bite. They asked for $3000 upfront to do more test and a deeper search or just take him home and wait. They didn’t check under his collar and when we got home that night we found a tick under his collar. Which they should have checked there in the first place!
Negative experience: Did not scan my dog's chip. Claimed they did and there were no details, forcing my dog to be put into the after hours cages at the pound. My dog suffered with heat exhaustion and stress leading to seizures and ultimately her death. All the vet would say is we can't keep them. Our vet and even the pound said they got my details from my dog's chip. They are the only after hours vet. I don't care how many dogs are brought in, my dog is dead because of their choices.
Negative experience: This vet only cares about money not your pet, my cat has all symptoms of kidney failure and because I only have $50 till Wednesday pension daywhen it can be paid in full they refused to look at her... My advice take you pet so.ewhere else where the care is balanced.
Negative experience: Lack of empathy and compassion, as if they have gone numb to sick animals. It was really uncomfortable and we were just left alone and had to go find someone to tell us what’s happening, not once but twice, I shouldn’t have to hunt for you!!! If you want people to care don’t go here. Couldn’t even get a print out of information they gathered from the $360 consultation. pretty sure you could have printed something out, their temperature, your observation. The care on an emotional level was zero it was as I was talking to auto pilot people, was surreal Find another vet!!!!! Fully avoid!!!!
Fantastic experience: Took my very sick kitty into Red Vets, it was after hours, the professionalism was amazing and the Vet who saw my very old cat was extremely empathetic and understanding. Regardless of the very sad outcome, the Vet was very gentle and would highly recommend. Thank you, for making an exceptionally sad evening, less stressful
Negative experience: Saw my cat playing with a baby brown snake so took her to the vet assuming she had been bitten. They took her in and said they'd watch for signs of her being bitten. When i went back to pick her up they said she was fine to go. The next morning i found her paralysed on the floor. Raced back to the vet and they took her in and talked to me about what they will do to help save her but the antivenom would only bind to the toxins that hadn't entered her body yet so may not save her. They said that it would cost $2000 - $4000. Discussed what they had told me with my husband and we both agreed we dont have this money and that if its likely to not save her then we'd rather not do it. The vet then came and spoke to us and when we said no she said she needs it or she'll die and they can reduce the price to $2000 and to look into VetPay. We still said no and her attitude towards us got worse and worse and she said ok you'll be going home with a dead cat then. We decided to take her home and give her the best care we could. They eventually gave our cat back and then made us sign a form saying we're against vetinary advice. She then says "do you want us to euthanase her?". We were stumped - clearly they're just trying to make money here. If they really thought the antivenom would save her they would have given it to her as soon as she came in. They charged us $326 for the consult. Our cat was bitten on 20/10/23, she is now close to being fully recovered.
Negative experience: Worst vet I've ever been to. Nurses were great but the doctors showed no compassion when it came to billing. Pieces of Not gonna post what I want, because I'm a better person than them
Negative experience: You would think after my first experience why on earth would I go back. Took my dog here a while ago because she ripped her declaw, told she needed surgery with sedation and to come back and pick her up in 3hrs, so we did, picked her up you wouldn’t have thought she had surgery she was energetic and bouncy. A few days later took off her bandage and found her declaw sitting in the bandage as if it just fell off…$500 later and I’m left guessing if they ever did surgery on her. Took my other dog there because my husband had left his insulin on the bench, was meant to remain cold apparently. (We were told by our vet we could of used it) $179 for consult, $92 just to check sugar level which honestly takes one minute, I do it everyday and then $125 for 10ml of insulin. We were not allowed to go in, so really don’t know if they really did check his sugar levels as for they didn’t tell us what his level was. $400 later and all we wanted was insulin. We pay $98 for insulin at our vet ♀️ 24hr vets take full advantage of those who cannot see their own vet.
Negative experience: The place is an absolute ripoff! I wish I could leave 0 stars they are all about money couldn’t care less about animals. Reception say ok yeah that will be $5000 for pretty much any small thing Cheaper to wait if you can for an actual proper vet These guys are hopeless…… My friend is looking at legal action which I think others should too
Negative experience: I do not recommend this vet. The head vet is arrogant, talks over you when you are trying to give your side of a story if it doesn't suit his narrative and vows to back up his staff whether the story is correct or not. They refused to ventilate my cat even when I asked for the treatment in the 1 st phone call and the vet said he died during the second call which was in fact to tell me he already died after not ventilating him like I asked. It seems to be because they didn't think it would be successful and it was costly. He apparently reacted to the anti toxin for a tick. The vet advised me that it is more risk if previously had the anti toxin after the reaction. But didn't warn me during consult. The main vet then contradicted that conveniently. He also claimed tick size is irrelevant. When the vet looking after Simba said two were tiny so would not be relevant in toxins poisoning him. When I tried to pull this up he arrogantly over talked me and wouldn't let me speak to address his slip. He them told me rudely that he's got a busy day and what am I doing with my cat.
Fantastic experience: My eleven years old Buddy a lab recently spent two nights at Red Vets. The vets and staff were very upfront and honest, his care was excellent and although they were inundated with emergencies still took the time to consider any concerns and questions we had. One young nurse there named Kylie was brilliant, her care and compassion was evident and this helped our anxiety.
