Fantastic experience: I have nothing but positives for the staff at Walkerville Vet. I recently had to have my 16 year old dog put down, and the compassion and communication was nothing short of amazing. Dr Megan put me at ease in my grief and talked me through the whole process, particularly after a bad experience at another vet practice. She was patient, understanding and so gentle with my dog, she didnt feel a thing. Whilst I am still grieving, I am happy I chose to take my dog to Walkerville Vet and see Dr Megan.

Fantastic experience: I'm not sure what stroke of serendipity took me to Walkerville Vets' doorstep with my brave little puppy farm survivor Harry, but I am eternally grateful. I had long been a devotee of Andrew's blog and had great respect for his stance on a number of key issues as well as for the generosity of spirit. Harry had been on the receiving end of a lot of the usual puppy farm-associated ailments including major dental and heart issues, but had been plagued with recurring symptoms. Andrew examined him with his characteristic firm, reassuring manner and diagnosed a sneaky oral fistula lurking in Harry's tiny jaw which was quickly dispatched by the brilliant Claire. It was also determined by Andrew and compassionately supported by Brooke that one of his eyes sadly needed to be removed by Claire and it is the most reassuring aspect of all to follow the path recommended and to collect a very brave "Pirate Pete" who coped infinitely better than I did! I can't thank Andrew and the team enough for their care and concern, expertise and for a pricing structure which is ethical and meticulously costed prior to treatment commencing. Now for little Miss Sally (aka The Wombat) to entrust her brave little senior self to the fold. She's 18, precious and carries the remnants of the abuse in her tiny frame, even after 8 years as a treasured pet instead of a puppy machine. Claire has provided prompt and decisive advice now in relation to Sally's Cushings and most recently has treated her for a distressing decline in her health, effecting a quick turnaround and recovery. What we want is competence and reassurance in a diagnostician and this is exactly what Andrew and Claire have provided on every occasion. Fantastic experience: My pooch has had great experiences with the team at Walkerville Vet. So have I. I've never left concerned about treatment of my adorable Westie, nor felt I've been either under-informed or overcharged. These guys love animals and, as far as I've experienced, people too.

Fantastic experience: This week we bought our fur baby in and the premises was busy. Nicole made such a big effort to assist us, apologised for the wait, but we got to see Dr Chris, who was equally amazing and professional. They are an asset to the business. I highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I take both my dog and cat here. Dr Chris is really lovely. He takes the time to explain things and provides options based on costs too. I travel from the other side of the City because I trust their service.

Fantastic experience: Dougy has been coming here since he was a puppy. He’s now nearly 12. It is a wonderful practise with competent vets and great vet nurses. Dougy is one of the few dogs who actually cries if he has to wait to see the vet, and dashes in as soon as it’s his turn. He’s had a lot of surgeries over the years and now has heart problems but the Walky team have expertly looked after him and now he’s a little old man which wouldn’t have happened without this great team. We highly recommend them all.

Fantastic experience: We’re incredibly grateful for the dedicated care and expertise you’ve provided for our cavoodle, Margot. Every staff member has been kind and gentle with her, and has always taken the time to clearly explain her treatment options. During a visit for another issue, Dr Johann noticed a heart murmur. This ultimately lead to further investigations and uncovering underlying problems that were insidiously impacting Margot’s health. We are so grateful for his thorough examination as ultimately it will mean we have more time with our beloved family member.

Fantastic experience: Great service. Saw my cat on short notice on a weekend! The vet Chris was so kind and caring. The staff helped to clean the carrier that my cat dirtied and gave him a new blanket. This is our go to vet from now on.

Negative experience: Booked an appointment for a nurse assisted Harness Fit and Purchase. After two nurses checked the harness fits, my dog slipped out of it at training the day after. They refunded the $81 for a XXS harness, however it defeats the object of getting the harness 'professionally' fitted. Found a perfect fitting harness at PetBarn for $21 and they fitted it for free.

Fantastic experience: Neat & clean clinic. Very Good atmosphere. Dr Claire is very competent, knowledgeable , calm, caring & personable. Excellent. Plus fees weren't too bad as well.

Fantastic experience: 9/10/2025 - Another happy visit for Penny's vaccination and great advice. Update - Today was our 2nd visit, 16weeks vaccination. Once again great service from the staff and Vet Dr Johann. This was our first visit to the vet. With our new pup for her 10-week visit. Dr Johann was very knowledgeable and great with our baby. Very helpful with great advice. If this is what to expect from future visits, I would not go anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: Poppy and I have just finished the 5 week puppy school training with Susanne and it was fantastic. I now know more about my dog and how to work with her to create a positive, stressfree relationship. Thanks so much Susanne.

Fantastic experience: Recently changed over to walkerville vets after being told $1,200 for an xray on a 30kg staffy cross from our usual vet. I was told nearly half of that price for the same xray at walkerville. They were extremely transparent and upfront we managed to work out two different xrays, hind leg and hips, for much less then the original vet has suggested. Our staffy cross is a rescue with high anxiety, and i feel this was taken on during her care as she was well looked after and loved the cuddles during her time there. Will be returning in future with our other furry family members Thank you for your compassion and dedication

Fantastic experience: Dr. Andrew is very professional and considerable of our circumstances. He has saved our dog Koral twice now. The first time, when Koral had a very serious knee injury, Dr. Andrew very professionally assessed her conditions and came up with a solution for specialist treatment. The second time, when she had arthritis in that knee, he helped us to find the cheapest and most effective treatment. Now Koral is back to normal :) Thanks Dr. Andrew!

Fantastic experience: Dr Brooke has been incredibly helpful and supportive with our greyhound who is struggling with separation anxiety. She is his biggest advocate and is always extremely thorough but also takes time to explain things properly to us which we really appreciate. We are very grateful for all of her hard work and support

Fantastic experience: I have entrusted Dr Spanner with the care of my two cats for the past three years and have been given very sound advice, especially in relation to their teeth and oral health (and their weight and how best to control it). He administers their vaccines without a flinch from them. I feel like he genuinely cares about their health and overall wellness and I am so happy to have found a trusted vet.

Fantastic experience: Today we had to say goodbye to our beautiful little Sasha and Dr Andrew was fantastic, so full of compassion. Calling up to make arrangements for Sasha the staff were amazing in helping with the final details.

Fantastic experience: Highly rate this veterinary practice. The staff genuinely care about the wellbeing of your pet, and strive to offer a range of different treatments if your pet is unwell. I can tell that Dr Andrew is very passionate about his work, he wants to help people provide the best care for their animals. There are lots of blog posts written by Dr Andrew on the Walkerville vet website. I refer to these research and evidence-based articles often, especially when I need pet first aid advice, or more information on common pet ailments and treatments.

Very efficient reminder system for vaccinations etc. Also their Puppy Preschool with Susanne Eckert (Force-Free trainer) was fantastic. Nice small group and great training expertise … enjoyable for both puppies and owners. Also provided a very informative manual to go with the lessons.

Fantastic experience: Took my cat in today for his annual shots. Saw Dr Andrew. A no fuss visit for a cat that is very vocal about going to the vet. My cat wouldn't come out of the cage and a good compromise of removing the top of the cage solved the problem.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing! I couldn’t recommend them more, especially for dog teeth cleaning. My local vet quoted me between $900–$1 300, which was absolutely ridiculous. Walkerville Vet did it for half the price! Their website provides transparent pricing, the staff are caring, and your dog is in great hands.

Fantastic experience: We can’t recommend Walkerville Vet and Dr Andrew Spanner enough. He has resolved a long-standing issue with our elderly dog, which our previous vet couldn’t fix, as well as performed tricky cruciate ligament surgery on another one of our dogs. Their prices are transparent and fair, they are friendly and helpful, and Andrew’s blog is so educational. I’m so pleased we have started going there!

Fantastic experience: Andrew and his team have been our vet practice since moving to Broadview many years ago. This is the BEST practice I have ever been to (and I have been to several due to moving around a bit and showing dogs in the past). They treat you like family and celebrate new additions with you, and grieve for those you lose with you. Fantastic experience: While I've (thankfully) only had to take Kipo to this vet for her annual check-ups and vaccinations, I'm also thankful to have had Dr. Johann as her vet. It always feels like there is an exclamation point on the love and care he gives her during her appointments. He takes his time with her, treating her as though she were the cat of a lifelong friend rather than a cat he only sees once a year, and puts equal care into answering any questions and concerns. The other staff and the facilities at the clinic are also wonderful. It's a relief to have a designated waiting room for cats and rabbits to separate them from the additional stressors of the main waiting room. I would recommend this vet to anyone who wants quality care for their animals, and I want to specifically commend Dr. Johann for his consistently excellent service and care. Kipo and her humans are very grateful.

Fantastic experience: Phenomenal Vet Clinic. We have been taking our gorgeous Cavoodle to Walkerville Vet for 9 years. He gets so happy and excited when he realises he’s going in and he certainly recognises the clinic. Their care and service is wonderful and our boy loves his visits. All the Vets are wonderful but we mainly see Dr Andrew and Dr Claire. We always trust them for their knowledge, care and empathy. Always highly recommended. Thank you so much x

Fantastic experience: Thank you to Dr Andrew and the team for providing welcoming and knowledgeable medical care for chickens. It can be hard to find a vet who takes chicken care seriously, but we have brought several of our hens here and they have always been so well looked after. We are lucky to have Walkerville Vet as our local chicken-friendly vet!

Dudley and Roux see Dr Andrew who is an exceptional veterinarian, and takes the time to explain things and why he is doing them. At times where we were unable to see Dr Andrew, all other veterinarians have also been wonderful and helped with what our pets needed. Fantastic experience: Fantastic vets & nurses - experts in their field. Whenever I go there my pet is always given a thorough examination. They have helped get my three pets well and truly in to their senior years while maintaining good health. Fantastic experience: I am incredibly grateful to Walkerville Vet, in particular Dr Brooke Carney, who performed complicated emergency surgery to remove multiple obstructions from my Japanese Spitz, Daisy. Fantastic experience: Dr Andrew saw my very sick & stressed dog for an urgently needed second opinion. He took my concerns seriously and made room in his schedule to get her scans the next day. The scans found a rapidly growing tumour which he again accommodated to remove under the same general anesthetic. He communicated my dogs prognosis clearly & patiently and has referred her to a well respected oncologist. I have no doubt that had I not sought the assistance of Dr Andrew when I did my dog would no longer be here. Thank you very much Dr Andrew.

Fantastic experience: I have been taking my pug, Pinot, to Walkerville Vet for almost a year. Before that, we tried several different vets around town but couldn’t find one I could fully trust. If you've ever experienced constantly changing vets, receiving conflicting advice from different doctors, or getting bills that differ significantly from the quote, you’ll understand how frustrating it can be. However, things are different at Walkerville Vet. All pricing is fully transparent and clearly listed on their website. The team is incredibly professional and friendly. Dr. Andrew is outstanding—he doesn’t just present options to the customer but has the confidence to suggest the best course of action that aligns with the best interests of both the pet and their owner. Pinot underwent bladder stone surgery at Walkerville Vet and has been on a prescription diet since. Dr. Andrew consistently follows up on Pinot’s progress and addresses any other issues that arise. When Dr. Andrew isn’t available, I’ve also seen other staff members, and the experience has always been excellent. I feel very fortunate to have chosen Walkerville Vet to look after Pinot, and I highly recommend them to everyone.

The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and highly skilled - they take the time to explain everything clearly. Fantastic experience: I have been taking my dog, Toby to Walkerville vet for 5 years now. I am extremely pleased with the service and so glad I can trust them for his health. All vets there are knowledgeable and very caring. Last summer he had a grass seed removed from his nose and everything went smooth. Any doubts about Toby’s health I will book in with Dr Andrew or one of his team members and they always give the best care and service.

Fantastic experience: Walkerville Vet take excellent care of our pet cat Chewie and dog Sigmund. The staff are lovely and are extremely knowledgeable, giving great advice for management and prevention of various problems.

Fantastic experience: Best vets I’ve ever been too. I recently moved to the area and have had to take both of my dogs there, one of them is very yappy and the other is snappy and every time they have made me feel comfortable being there as I’m usually quite embarrassed. I’ve recommended this vet to all of my friends. I won’t ever go anywhere else from now on

Fantastic experience: The most caring and dedicated vets. Dr Andrew Spanner, Dr Brooke Carey, nurses and staff went above and beyond when our kitten came to us with a range of issues. She was a tricky case and they persevered with us for close to a year until she had cleared everything. She’s now a perfectly happy and healthy cat. They really care about your pet’s welfare and will discuss different treatment options where available and outline any risks to make sure you’re comfortable with a treatment plan. We couldn't recommend them enough.

Fantastic experience: Walkerville Vet practice is absolutely outstanding! We started taking out young rescue puppy here in January, as we had heard good things about the practice. Dr Andrew Spanner is extremely knowledgeable, very genuine, and also transparent in his decision making regarding treatments. He not only treats your dog, but it also feels like he is educating you about it as you go. He has even written a very informative blog on the Walkerville Vet website, which is a treasure trove of information about all kinds of subjects, a lot of them things you never knew you even needed to know. The other staff are also lovely! Because of my pup's background, he can be a bit fearful, but one of the staff members in particular is always very friendly and patient with him, and gives him some treats, which makes him much happier and a lot more comfortable when he comes in. Now the first thing he does when he comes in is look for her around the counter! I also can't recommend the Puppy Pre-School run by Susanne enough. She is incredibly experienced, knowledgeable, patient and goes above and beyond to help you give your puppy the best start! Overall, very glad this vet was recommended to me!

Fantastic experience: Both our dogs have been regular patients of Dr Johann for many years now, although Ziggy is by far the repeat visitor with his own specific breed issues. We are very happy with the professional, honest, friendly and efficient service we always receive and would not go to any other veterinarian. From the lovely reception nurses, Dr Johann and of course Andrew. I have never met any of the surgeons but all procedures back of house have always been wonderful too. Fantastic experience: A few times we have needed to call on Walkerville Vet to provide veterinarian care to our Toy Poodle, Harry, who is one of the family and very loved. We have always found the staff to be friendly and caring. Our family have complete faith in the veterinarians and staff. More recently we nearly lost Harry and if it was not for Andrew (Vet) we would have certainly lost him. If it was not for his experience Harry would not be with us today. Five stars is not enough to reflect our appreciation.

She can be a bit of a stress head at times and struggles around other dogs, but from our first visit everyone has been patient and wonderful with her. Fantastic experience: I personally have only been twice but my cat Freddy has come here three times, twice for yearly check ups and once for an at home accident. After we had a little mishap at home where Freddy caused some damage to his nails I brought him in the next day where he was seen and looked after effectively, I’m a very anxious pet parent and the vets and staff have explained things in detail and have always put my mind at ease. Communication with these guys has always been amazing, from changing my cats info all to my name after a break up to keeping me updating with the vaccination shortages they’ve been nothing but amazing. I was also very anxious to try a new vet after moving to the area (was very willing to make the 1.5 hour drive to see our old vet) but they’ve made the whole transition very comfortable and I’m glad I gave them a go.

Fantastic experience: I have a great experience in here. My dog ​​needs dental surgery, which is more expensive in other vets, but in here Dr. Andrew gave me a very reasonable price and the reception staff kept calling me to report the latest situation during the surgery. Dr. Andrew is very responsible person. I trust his clinical decision for my dog, but sometimes the attitude of the reception staffs are unfriendly and needs to be improved!

Fantastic experience: Had an annual health check for my cat with Dr Andrew Spanner and the lovely team at Walkerville Vet today. Have been with them since 2018 and would recommend them without hesitation. They are incredibly professional and genuine people who do know what they are doing. Thank you guys! Fantastic experience: I took my Tonton to Walkerville Vet today because of his skin injury. Fortunately, they got a vacancy today and their individual waiting room for cats and rabbits is a really good idea. Being away from the dogs that he is affraid of made my little cat feel much better than before. Dr.Andrew stitched him up today(fortunately it's done by today otherwise I really don’t know how Tonton‘s gonna spend the night). We picked Tonton up after an hour and will back to the vet after 10 days to take out stitches. I hope everything will be fine and I highly recommend you bring your fur babies here if they are unwell.

Fantastic experience: The Puppy Preschool at Walkerville Vet is excellent, small classes, relaxed, not intimidating, fun and very informative. Very well worth it. This is our second time going through the puppy preschool at Walkerville Vet with our second dog. The instructors have always been very knowledgeable.

Fantastic experience: Caring and friendly veterinary practice - we have been taking our dogs and cat here for many years. We usually see Dr Johann, who is always very knowledgeable, helpful and overall fantastic, but we have seen multiple vets here and they have all been wonderful. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I've been taking my dog to Walkerville Vet since she was a pup and we've always had excellent care here. Juno loves going to see Dr Johann and I appreciate that he always takes the time to explain options and shows very genuine care for his clients.

Positive experience: I believe these guys are some of best vets, and I certainly don't mean to attack anyone but unfortunately my experience was not good. • I brought my dog in after noticing his glands were enlarged and he had became less interested in all his normal things, vomitting on occasion, and when I noticed blood in his stools and extremely dark urine I took him into vet same day. Despite explaining all this to the vet I was told he was not in pain and given antibiotics and metacam. I believe METACAM IS ABSOLUTELY INAPPROPRIATE medication for a dog in any type of digestive stress. • Biopsy procedure must have changed because this looked like a cross between a vigorous mini liposuction and digging the insides out of a golf ball with a pin! And repeated 4 x times • Even without clinical measurements ( heart rate, blood pressure etc) I know when my dogs breathing and heart rate is different from normal and when he's lost interest in everything that he normally enjoys, and especially when I start to see his widened pupils and the hollow look of pain in his eyes.. I know he IS IN PAIN. • Sadly Ziggy had to be euthanased a week later due to the lymphoma but in the days beforehand, his organs struggling I lay with him for hour upon hour while he moaned and struggled to breath with fluid accumulating around his chest... But oh no I'm wrong, lymphoma not painful.. OFFENSIVE!!! I'm sorry if this feels like an attack I don't mean to at all!.. what you guys do is amazing and your compassion for these creatures is a beautiful thing. Nothing would have changed the outcome but what I do know is I had a rescue dog that had been horribly mistreated in 4+ years before I got him.. Fearing everybody and everything, after a year he finally stopped trembling, after 2years he completely trusted me and I promised him I would never let him be in pain again. It broke my heart to see fear in his eyes during the biopsy's, (If it was my old dog she would have been too interested in the liver treats coming her way to even notice any needles). I'm sure everyone was doing their best. I cannot accept that this is what is best practice.

Fantastic experience: I recently visited Walkerville Vet South Australia and was blown away by their friendly customer service. From the moment I walked in the door, I felt welcomed and cared for. The staff were attentive and took the time to answer all of my questions. In particular, I was impressed by Dr Claire's professionalism and patience. She really took the time to explain everything to me in a way that was easy to understand, and I felt like she genuinely cared about my pet's well-being. Overall, I would highly recommend Walkerville Vet South Australia to anyone looking for top-notch veterinary care. Fantastic experience: Always very welcoming and friendly, thorough care taken of my pets over the last 3 years. Andrew repaired my cats broken paw, he was excellent at explaining everything and the post-op care. She now has full use of that paw. Always happy to recommend this vet.

Fantastic experience: We’ve been taking our two dogs, Comet & Bolt to Walkerville Vet for a few years now (since they were puppies) and we are always happy with the service provided! Our usual vet we see is Johann, who is absolutely wonderful & our boys LOVE seeing him. We’ve also seen Brooke on occasion too who is also excellent! All the vet nurses are lovely too - the boys are always SO excited to see them & get pats. Special mention to Amanda, Rachel & Tayla who we have seen often and are friendly and welcoming

Fantastic experience: Fabulous vet clinic. All the staff are friendly and have a love for animals. We really appreciate the expert advice and treatment of our border collie by Claire - this is Molly’s favourite vet doctor! Claire has become our expert on dog incontinence & good pain management for arthritis. We have also found Andrew’s blogs very useful, especially when Molly started having sudden unexplained seizures this year. It’s really helped us to research & understand how to manage them. We are grateful to all the staff for the love & care they show to Molly each month and to us as pet owners.

Fantastic experience: Took my daughter's dog here after seeing another Vet for a cut on her dog's leg. We were wanting a second opinion after receiving an exorbitant estimate from another corporate Vet to stitch up the leg. We had a gut feeling that the first quote for $1300 to $1600 to stitch up a leg was excessive. Very glad we followed our gut and sought a 2nd opinion from Walkerville Vets. Walkerville Vet was very professional and caring and ended up quoting approximately half that quoted by the first corporate Vet. We were also pleasantly surprised when we picked up our dog to learn the actual cost was less than their overall estimate of $750. We were extremely happy with the care and service by all staff and extremely impressed with their honesty and integrity. Professional, caring and trustworthy. We will definitely return in future for further pet care needs.

Fantastic experience: All staffs there are patient. I have two cats and a dog, and every time I go to the Walkville Vet, they give me great advice. The price is reasonable. Staff respect our choice and never pushing at all. No pressure. In addition, their website provides a lot of useful information, which is very helpful.

Fantastic experience: I have been coming to this practice for over 20 years and even after 2 moves will happily travel 30 minutes to do so , because these guys are the greatest. Andrew and the entire team are always so caring and put both owners and pets at ease, which is so appreciated when you are worried about your furbaby who they know is a valued family member. I respect them for their honesty in only providing necessary treatment options and advice which shows they genuinely do care for their patients and is reflected in their reasonable fees. The extensive topics / blogs/advice they have on the website has been of great help over the years and their online booking system / late appointments make bookings a breeze. Best of all is that my dog happily walks in the door because she also loves them , knows they are gentle to her and there will always be treats, cuddles and belly rubs from the staff.

Fantastic experience: If I could give more stars I would. My dog has been really sick recently and all the staff at Walkerville Vet have been truly amazing, every single one. Not only have they been gentle and caring with my dog, but also with me. No question is too ridiculous and no amount of questions is too much, they have taken the time to explain things to me. They also tell you the cost of things up front and every step along the way. When your pet is sick you are stressed enough as it is, the last thing you need is a shock by the bill at the end. A vet clinic that genuinely cares about the animals and their owners.

Fantastic experience: Professional, empathetic and 5 ⭐️ service. I originally was a bit iffy going to this clinic for my cat after reading some of the reviews for cats, however, my sister said this was the best clinic in our area/near our area. She was right. Probably the best and knowledgeable service I’ve received in a long time. No matter how busy they are, the staff and vets always give you their best for your pet. Please do not let some reviews dissuade you from this clinic. Very thankful for the service I received.

Fantastic experience: I called up to bring my cat in who bit into a Lily (lmao don’t even get me started) and not only were they informed and didn’t stop to put me on hold to Google “cat eating lily”, they were super helpful, affordable, and gave me options. I brought my cat in, Tom gave her a blood/kidney/liver check, and all was well. He was honest, and very knowledgeable about cats! I’m super impressed with Walkerville Vet and the staff all throughout - will bring my cats here for their yearly vaccinations in future for sure.

Negative experience: Disappointed and upset. We have enjoyed the services of the surgery for a number of years. However we have found the front counter staff increasingly rude and the attention to our pet’s needs as they have grown older have gone unchecked leading to moderate kidney damage that will likely shorten his life. While Claire has been good to our pet for some years and we think this was simply an oversight, we have decided now to move on.
