Fantastic experience: This is our regular vet clinic, though there are always different vets - they always take great care of our kitten. In particular, Michael is always friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.

Positive experience: We used this clinic for puppy pre school and had such a great time bonding with our puppy while learning the basic commands. Michael, the trainer/ coach was very knowledgeable in puppy behaviour and was always willing to answer whatever question come his way. Thank you for helping guide us with our new puppy!

Fantastic experience: Dr Sam goes above and beyond to look after our Doberman. They always have our dogs best interest front of mind and can’t thank the whole clinic enough for the care they show.

Negative experience: Took my dog there yesterday. While the vet was thorough and really paid attention, we were a bit shocked by how much they charged. We just moved to Port Adelaide from Sydney and took our 7.9 kg dog in for her Cytopoint injection, a new Apoquel prescription, and an overall health check-up. We paid about $388 in total — $109 for the consultation (no issue there), but $45 just for writing a prescription was unexpected. The Cytopoint injection was $234, which is excessive considering we paid $160 in NSW for the same thing. I called another nearby vet afterward and was quoted $178 for the same injection, including injection consultation.

Fantastic experience: Such a wonderful experience over the 4 weeks with Michael and his team, all the other puppies played so nicely with Hazel, she had the opportunity to build upon her skills and social interaction with others, would definitely recommend! ‍

Fantastic experience: After moving to Kilburn 3 yrs ago I tried a few vets closer to me , the old Reynella vet (great vets if you're local) now being too far to travel with the in the car, the staff at port Adelaide vets are caring, and very professional, great at communicating your needs and care, I trust their judgement and knowledge.. ❤️❤️❤️

Negative experience: My dog wasn’t well so I booked an appointment with Dr. Thomas. I explained the symptoms (including strong-smelling breath) but he laughed instead of taking it seriously, and gave no clear advice or next steps, which I found very unprofessional. Thankfully, the receptionist Michael and the nurse were much more helpful and supportive, and on a previous visit Dr. Samantha Roger was excellent — professional, caring, and thorough. The clinic overall is good, but my experience with Dr. Thomas was very disappointing.

Fantastic experience: I changed vets to try something new for my anxious dog. They were extremely helpful and lovely and I am very happy I went there.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Port Adelaide Vet for puppy school. Our experience with Michael, who leads the puppy training classes, was exceptional. His extensive knowledge, caring approach, and practical teaching style made us feel comfortable and well-equipped to train our puppy. Negative experience: Ive been wanting to stay silent...but i cant anymore... im so tired of being told EVERY 6 MONTHS that i need this or i need that type of perches for my bird... when ive literally showed photos of his cage to the vet who does my birds nails... im not coming back again.... ill find someone else that wont nag me about it every 6 months... im done... ive given proof but apparently its not good enough.

Fantastic experience: Thank you Michael for hosting a very beneficial Puppy School for our cavoodle called Pickles. We learnt a lot and the puppy socialisation sessions were a lot of fun. Thank you for the puppy pack Pickles received when he graduated. Here is a photo of him wearing the bandana which was in the puppy pack.

Fantastic experience: The team here is amazing so welcoming and friendly, they looked after my fur baby for her desexing and also had some teeth removed. I was kept up to date throughout her procedure and they even called to check on her the next day! Very professional practice would definitely recommend

Fantastic experience: I took my daughters dog in for his yearly shots. He was incredibly anxious. From the moment we walked in we were made to feel ok. The young girl that welcomed us and answered all my questions, The vet that was beyond caring and kind. The trainee (?) that exuded kindess and compassion. Then finally the man that is regularly at the front counter who reminded me why they are the best vets in Adelaide. Well done to all of you.

Fantastic experience: Today, our puppy went for his desexing surgery. The team did a great job and took very good care of our puppy. He is recovering well, and we will see the vet team next week to check the stitches. We highly recommend this clinic to anyone looking for a good vet team and quality service.

Negative experience: A few years ago my budgie was sick. (I know, "it's just a bird", but he was mine and my tiny friend.) Anyway a lovely vet and nurse attended to him. Unfortunately he wasn't going to survive so I asked for him to be euthanised. Leo was given back to me in a small box, laying on cloth with a tiny cushion and cover. I was charged $218 for this. When I rang a few days later to question the fee, a woman in an officious voice asked me why I didn't take him to my own vet (no Avian vet was available that day) I was bluntly told "well, therein lies your answer". End of conversation.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend attending puppy training at the Port Adelaide Vet. Micheal is a true professional, he is amazing with the puppies and really knows what he’s taking about. It’s such a warm and friendly environment to be in and a fantastic opportunity for puppy socialisation.

The Vets, Nurses and Support team are a brilliant mix of professionalism, warmth and care. Everything was explained, costed and delivered brilliantly. Fantastic experience: Our dog Maggie attended puppy preschool hosted by Michael and had an amazing time! We both learnt so much and it was a great way for her to socialise with other dogs and get some obedience training while she’s so young

Fantastic experience: Can't praise this place my cat Pringles went for desexing and I found out he had a heart murmur but didn't need treatment just to watch for signs now Bronson has become a member and they are looking after my pup he has become friendly with the staff which will become good later down the line when he his a adult

Negative experience: The staff are very good but unfortunately, this vet is very overpriced. After leaving my review I get a long email from the owner saying how reviews like mine lead to vet suicide. As I said in my original review the staff are great here but the price isn't.

To receive pre and post surgery phone calls providing me with updates was unexpected but much appreciated and to have her comfortably back home in a few hours with clear after care instructions was great and she is recovering well. Fantastic experience: Excellent caring emergency operations and services for our pet dog Lola at last minute. We called Port Adelaide for an urgent x-ray and enema for Lola’s bowel obstruction as our usual vet had no available surgery slots during a Friday. Port Adelaide Vets’ Michael was able to quickly understand the situation and further triage over the phone while booking us in for an appointment immediately. After dropping Lola off for her consult and hospital stay, throughout the day we were kept appraised via phone of what was going on and her status by vet Dr Shaun and also nurses Clara and Chiara. We were very pleased with the level of detail provided with the progress updates and the answers to all our questions! The day after we picked up Lola we also had a follow up call from Port Adelaide Vets to confirm that Lola was recovering well at home, which we very much appreciated. Thank you very much to Dr Shaun, Michael, Clara, Chiara and the team at Port Adelaide Vets. Lola is back to her normal happy self!

Fantastic experience: I have been taking my cat Belle to Port Adelaide Vet for a little over 12mnths now and I absolutely can't fault the brilliant work and care that PAVC consistently provides! The PAVC team are second to none - they are very attentive during checkups, and are always happy to take my calls and answer any pet parent concerns I might have. I recently adopted a new kitten, and the whole team were so lovely and gave him lots of attention during his first visit today. Also, special mention for their cat boarding facilities - I am a frequent user of the boarding service with my eldest cat Belle, and she always gets the best care from the PAVC team (shoutout to Tammy :) ) - they keep me updated with pictures during her long stays, and treat her like one of their own ♥️ The entire Port Adelaide Vet team are amazing and I would not take my cats anywhere else!

Fantastic experience: The moment Tilly and I entered the clinic we were greeted with a warm welcome. Tilly was obviously very comfortable and excited to meet the friendly Eden on the front desk. Dr Amelia gave us a very warm welcome also and she was able to create a very comfortable and relaxed atmosphere for Tilly to have her vaccination without any stress. The whole environment in the clinic was warm, friendly, efficient and professional. It was a great experience

Fantastic experience: We have had such a wonderful experience with Port Adelaide Vet with both our senior lab, and our little puppy. Every vet and staff member have been nothing but kind and caring with us, and this was especially evident in caring for our elderly lab at the end of her life. Both dogs have enjoyed coming to the practice, and we have appreciated the way vets have kept us fully informed of the health and options available for our dogs.

Fantastic experience: I took my precious 2 precious Cavoodle to our new local vet just to introduce them and make sure the first experience is an enjoyable calm fun friendly one for everyone. This is so important to me so if we have an emergency situation they will feel comfortable and safe. The team was happy and excited to join in with treats and cuddles from all the staff. As first-time pet parents, we had so many questions, but the lovely team was incredibly patient and provided us with a complete guide to everything we needed to know. Fantastic experience: We was travelling through Semaphore to say goodbye to my son who was emigrating. We needed vet visit for Rosie, our little dog who was anxious. I cannot thank Vet Samantha first for her care and attention which she found a few little issues with Rosie which we will follow through when we get back home in a few months. But I am absolutely grateful to Michael who was gone above and beyond to help us with obtaining a prescription of drugs to help Rosie on her travels. He tried to obtain all of the weds yesterday from another vet but they was not able to help. So Michael went this morning in his own time to collect them from the supplier then deliver them for us to pick up at 9am. Micheal did not start work until 12 noon. We had to leave the camp-site at 10am today. We are so very grateful for your care and dedication to your role in caring for animals as well as there owners. You are amazing Michael and forever in your hearts. Thank you so much again, Rosie, Sheena and Steve.

Fantastic experience: Dr.shaun Scheepers is a great vet he has always taken care of our dogs for many years.he has been part of our family also ,his manner is great....his staff are also wonderful people very kind and respectful they have also been great with our dogs over the years.they listen to every word you have to say.i certainly recommend people to take their pets to them at port Adelaide veterinary......they are the best.........kind regards Kerry bradbrook.

Negative experience: Not recommended. On my first (and only visit) two customers complained, one very strongly, about misleading invoices, which was concerning. I had to pay a deposit prior to my visit of $104, I paid my fee of, almost, $800 (mostly bloods as mentioned by a previous review) by Vetpay and was charged $40 for a credit admin fee. I believe I should have been informed of this charge prior to using Vetpay. I was then told my dog needed further treatment amounting to $1200. When I said no I was given two syringes and told I could do the ‘treatment’ myself at home, basically making sure my dog was hydrated. There was no transparency in the treatments offered or the invoicing. I would prefer an upfront service. As a post note I have just received a phone call from the vet practice and was offered money to remove this review. I also received a long email that reviews such as this contribute to the high suicide rate of vets. I would like to publicly state that the review is not about staff but practice procedures. My beautiful dog is being treated elsewhere and doing well.

Fantastic experience: I honestly cannot put into words how amazing the clinic is! I am a bit of a worrier when it comes to my furbaby, I was greeted with so much comfort and compassion. They answered all my questions and put my nerves to rest. A special shout-out to Fiona, I don’t think I could have gone on with my day without knowing she was with my baby throughout his surgery! She was more than reassuring, she was kind and compassionate! I cannot recommend the clinic more!

Fantastic experience: I know my dachshund Maple is in the best hands with the staff at Port Adelaide Vet Clinic! They are so gentle and kind with Maple so even when she is having a procedure like her teeth cleaning I know she is going to be so spoilt with cuddles. Dr Shaun goes above and beyond for his furry patients! When Maple was really sick with a bowel obstruction and pancreatitis Dr Shaun took her home for the weekend after her surgery and looked after her instead of her going to a vet hospital! I will forever be so grateful knowing she was in his home being cared for. If you want a team who go above and beyond for your pet - port adelaide vet clinic is the place! We have been going here with maple for 5 years now and have never had a bad experience

Fantastic experience: I have recently been in to the Port Adelaide Veterinary Clinic with my 3 year old Border Collie for vaccinations and grade 1 dental disease treatment. I cannot fault the care we’re received. The whole team are so welcoming, patient and professional. They took wonderful care of my fur baby and gave me all the pre and post procedure information I could need + followed up with a phone call to check in and answer any last minute questions. Exceptional care, I wouldn’t take my dog anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: The Port Adelaide Vet Clinic is by far the most professional and caring clinic I've ever been to. Milly the cat is turning 14 this year, and I know, moving into her elder years, she will be well cared for and loved by the staff at this clinic. Fantastic experience: The friendliest Vet Clinic staff! Professional. Approachable. Down right beautiful people! They even have lollie pops for my 10 year old with disabilities. Clinic is mega clean, easy parking, consulting rooms are great. Windows within the clinic so you can see right through to other areas. They have my cat boarding with them at the moment. We visit her and we take our 15 yrs Bichon Frise to visit our 12 yr cat. Medications - are cut up for appropriate doses (I don’t have to cut them up). All support staff are lovely, they know us as our little family Me, my beautiful 10 yr old, Chilli and Zena. Pricing, not the cheapest vet, but all the services given makes up the difference! Highly recommend Hart St Vets.

Fantastic experience: Since day one, I've been taking my dog to Port Adelaide Vet Clinic for puppy school, vaccinations, and now spaying. I am thankful for the outstanding care that you consistently provide and your excellent communication. Your updates, which include lovely pictures of her, are always a delight. Positive experience: Took Eddie for his 2nd shots the other day ( last week ) . Staff are friendly and helpful. All the girls all wanted to hold him ! ❤️

Negative experience: Puppy School was great! But prices are WAY overpriced when compared to other vets... I would keep this in mind if you have the chance to compare other vet prices, I took the time to research and realised how much I could save... The cost of living these days is very tough! Ive changed vets as I couldn't keep up with this vet's pricing of things... :/

Fantastic experience: Recently switched to PAVC from another clinic, with our rescue dog that we’ve had for a year. We absolutely loved everyone that we met today for a last minute appointment for our girl. They were friendly, informative, and much better prices than our previous vet. Our dog is our family member and our whole world, and the team at PAVC treat her that way. Thank you Eden, Annie, and Maddie for today.

Fantastic experience: The staff here are brilliant! We normally go to another vet and when our cat became seriously unwell, the other vet clinic didn't have a vet on until later that day. We rang Port Adelaide Vet Clinic, explained the situation and were told to bring our cat in and she would be seen to. She was looked after so very well over 2 and half days with constant updates and we visited her while she was there. Unfortunately her renal function didn't improve and she had to be euthanased. The staff were so compassionate and lovely, we couldn't have asked for more. When we feel able to get another pet we have no hesitation bringing them here. Thanks again for everyone, you guys are the best!!

Positive experience: Love this place. Very understanding of my reactive dogs. I bring my two big 30kg+ dogs in at same time. It usually makes me quite flustered but staff always help out/ relax me and the dogs. Its great having the fenced outdoor area to the side. My dogs are usually reactive with men. They accommodate with their awesome female vets and staff. There's also a male nurse who's presence is so gentle and calming for the dogs so far the only man my dogs like! I was worried coming in with a very limited budget but had to prioritise health of my dogs eye. They explained the cost each step and understood if I had to say no or find an alternative short term solution until pay day. They explained the risk and let me feel in control of the situation.
