Paralowie Veterinary Surgery

Fantastic experience: They've looked after all our pets, haven't had a bad experience...

Negative experience: Took my very sick turtle in after waiting a week and a bit for an app even after stressing it was urgent, only to have the vet give me no advice on what I should do once leaving there except give him injections they gave me, and when I asked if I should make another app was told I could ring around other vets or if need be call them in a few weeks if I couldn't get in anywhere else. The vet was completely uninterested and so I won't ever take a pet there ever again.. And sadly the injections have not helped either.

Fantastic experience: Friendly and knowledgeable staff. The staff are always honest and deliver the diagnosis in a caring and respectful manner.

Fantastic experience: Been taking my animals here my whole life, very friendly environment, always do everything in their power to make a trip to the vet as pleasant as possible.

Negative experience: Not impressed. We came home to find our cat with what we thought was part of his foot pad hanging off and a fair bit of blood. The reception wouldn’t take us in as an emergency (even though we have been customers for 20 years) the best they could do was “tomorrow afternoon”. We went elsewhere & it turned out that he had ripped most of one of his toe off & required to have the rest amputated, no way could that have waited till the next day. After 20years that’s the final straw, things are just going downhill, we won’t be back.

Fantastic experience: Have been going here for a few years and that are wonderful... Treated my precious (cat) with care,respect for both of us and most importantly fixed her up Can't thank them enough

Fantastic experience: Ever had that feeling that the vet's judging you because your elderly rescue dog has bad teeth? Not here. Very personable, friendly staff, accurate quote for surgery and they fixed up the pooch real good.

Fantastic experience: My dog has been very unwell over past week and her health deteriorated very quickly, Monday morning, I called up and they told me to bring her in ASAP, they listened to my concerns and performed surgery on her very same day and was very attentive and caring and checked up again the next day. Very happy with the service and my dog is already feeling better and recovering 5/5

Fantastic experience: The ladies were very pleasant at the reception desk and the vet we seen was so lovely as we had to have our cat Freddy put to sleep she treated him so beautifully highly recommend them

Fantastic experience: Dr Amelia was amazing when I bought my 9 month old Olive Python in with a mouth infection. It feels silly bringing in a reptile as a beloved pet, bet she completely understood, was really knowledgeable about Olives and gave some fantastic reptile ownership advice to help him heal faster. If you have an exotic or out of the ordinary pet, I highly reccomend her.

Fantastic experience: Super easy to deal with the team here. I prepaid for a vet check, vaccinations, and microchips and sent my cousin in with a pup x 2. . Both times it was super easy, friendly team with sms updates and reminders.. . And they loved my toy alaskan klee kai spitz pups!

Negative experience: I would give zero stars if I could! our senior dog, of 13 years, has been coming to this vet since we picked her up all those years ago. Tuesday last week, we brought poppy into the clinic as she wasnt well, she had a murmur that they put down to old age and as we described what appeared to be seizure symptoms, without testing or looking into anything further she was sent home with some anti seizure meds - we trusted them, as they are the vet. by anzac day she couldnt breathe and wasn't able to move. Rushed her to the emergency vet SASH and was told she had fluid on her lungs and was in cardiac arrest. I am absolutely disgusted by the lack of care from this clinic, and appalled by the lack of empathy once we told them where she was and how she was. She actually is not improving and we have had to make the worst decision of our lives to put her down because she cant function with out round the clock oxygen. I will never recommend you to anyone in my life.

Fantastic experience: Jonathan Wysoke is the head Vet, must be one of if not the best vetinary surgeon in Adelaide. Honest, caring and incredibly talented. Just an update, Jonathan no longer works here, I hope they are still operating in an ethical and patient focused manner rather than money focused like so many seem to be these days.... but given they are owned by a corporate company now.... I have not gone there since and will be following Jonathan to wherever he goes but fingers crossed Paralowie Surgery continues to be excellent.

They were amazing upon my first visit regarding my sick rabbit and then again following up my other 2 rabbits health & the aided assistance and knowledgeable advice when taking my 17 year old dog in .. We are highly pleased with the kind friendly services of the staff and the knowledgeable work from the veterinary doctors. 10/10 Worth the travels if far / Thank you once again. Fantastic experience: Dr Christo has been treating my pet bearded dragon Rusty for some various medical problems for almost 3 years. In doing all he can for Rusty he's successfully treated him for enclosure sand getting in his left eye,an injury to his tail each have successfully healed Rusty. He's still treating him for a swollen front foot and is able to walk and run much better. I've never cared how much the vet bill costs yet he's never overcharged me. Throughout visits dr Christo has been caring over Rusty. I can recommend him to anyone who has got a pet beardie.

Positive experience: The place is amazing but it depends with who you deal with. My cats have been going there for years and they always get the best care. I don't have to worry at all if I have to drop one down for the day because I know they will be getting absolutely spoilt. A certain receptionist could learn to be more polite and learn some manners but hey everyone else is fabulous. I'm unsure of the vets name but this guy is the absolutely BEST!! he has a bit of an accent. Couldn't ask for a better person/vet. Clearly loves his jobs and animals and will bend over back to get your furr bub the absolute best care. Even the nurses are amazing! Top notch guys

I'm so thankful for Dr Christo who has greatly helped my two birds this year. He is an amazing, and very caring vet. Also all the ladies on reception have been so helpful in every way. Negative experience: These guys are so horrible. I've taken in a few stray animals and they don't seem to care. In the past month I have taken in a bird that was abused and they didn't really want to help. Brought in a rabbit and they said "we don't take in strays, it fills us up". It's your job to look after animals

Negative experience: Took in a bird with an injured wing. As they said said they will update me about its condition. Gave it to them. No phone call they just killed it then told us. Please don't send non native birds to this place cause they won't care for them.

Vet diagnosed and suggested an x-ray on her that day and within 2 hrs she was into surgery and home to recover that afternoon! 3 weeks later she's eating and playing like her old self :D couldn't be happier! Helpful, friendly staff and they do check-up phone calls!

Negative experience: Staff are undertrained. They lied to me when they said they sedated my dog, and lied about procedure. I was then charged for things that didn't accur. My dog was stressed for a total of 5 weeks because simply they hadn't stitched her properly. After 5 weeks getting no where and words with the vet that dealed with my dog. I visited another vet and sure enough they agreed that they had not treated my dog properly and they fixed the problem within a week my dog was her happy self again. The conditions of this veterinary clinic is also very poor in hygiene and cleanliness and they seem to just want to overcharge you RIP YOU OFF so be very careful going to this vet. I'm so angry as they put my dog through so much stress it was unessessary than More than what they had charged me.

Positive experience: I find some of the staff not as friendly and welcoming as they could be. I think a vet should be mindful of how owners might feel leaving their pets with people who might not appear to be kind and friendly.

Fantastic experience: Idk what they did personally but the cat is back to full health in under a week with a couple of jabs from a small syringe they gave the partner Tl;DR they fixed that cat good. back to her normal annoying self she's happily stealing more of my snacks than ever, meowing loudly Wayyyy too close to my ear for attention and recently we have worked out a 5 second patting treaty window, as the partner said to "be nice, she's sick" (she broke the swiping treaty of early 2020, meaning she could no longer stay near my side of the bed or on my computer chair)
