Fantastic experience: My Guinea Pigs and I had our first visit with Dr Anne today and she was brilliant! She clearly cares about the animals and is very knowledgable and kind. My usual skittish guinea pig relaxed quickly in her hands and clearly felt comfortable with her. I walked away with alot more knowledge than before with two very happy piggies, an information pack and free sample of food. Both my boys will be getting desexed by her soon and now having met her, there is no one else I would trust to look after my babies.

Negative experience: i took my pet sun conure to adelaide bird & exotics vet in december of last year. after over an hour’s wait for our 10am appointment, he was diagnosed with avian gastric yeast. i did not get any explanation on symptoms of the medication or what to expect. not even instructions on how to administer it. when i went to pay and collect the medicine, the receptionist looked at him and said: “if you don’t take this medicine you’re gonna die” in a sing-song voice. i was extremely upset afterwards. my bird passed away on new year’s day. i won’t be coming back.

Negative experience: Horrible experience get judged by Anne every time instead of her concentrating on my animal I bring in, wrote a requested report about a visit with my dying bearded dragon that was very different from what we spoke of , has red flagged me because I dare to question her methods, which at times seem diabolical.

Negative experience: The most horrid care I’ve ever known. Dr Anne is disgusting to not only pets and their owners, but her own staff too. I’m convinced she actually hates animals

The Balanced Review Posted on Google 4 months ago

Fantastic experience: Edit 29/1/2026 Saw Dr Anne again and I change my review. She is very very caring towards animals and extremely knowledgable. Can identify issues just by visually looking. This will absolutely be our go to. Others who have seen Anne for years say the same. Reception staff were lovely. I expressed my concern about other reviews. My experience was not bad. I am not sure I would come back here only as I didn’t feel it was thorough enough of any follow up. My usual vet for my other animals always does a follow up call to check in. Xrays taken were not clear nor was my animal positioned well enough. Putting an animal under is a risk so every opportunity ought to be taken to ensure it is worthwhile. The price was affordable.

Fantastic experience: Brought my Quaker here for boarding, health check and DNA testing. The bird is young and somewhat nervous too and the vet I saw was fabulous with her, clearly very knowledgeable and comfortable with parrots, which makes such a difference compared to a small animal vet.

Fantastic experience: Ann looked at a ringtail possum I was caring for prior to release. Sadly the possum had been injured (likely by a rat), was underweight and could not be saved. Ann was extremely helpful in advising me on possum nutrition and I am very grateful to her for her continued care for wildlife and her kindness when this little girl didn’t survive.

Negative experience: We tried to save a baby dove/chick and brought it to this clinic in good faith. We were told it would be kept warm in an incubator and seen by a vet. The next day we called and were told it had been “dealt with” because it was an “introduced species.” No one warned us this might happen, and no one contacted us before making that decision. We were devastated. Even if there are rules about non-native birds, the clinic’s communication was terrible and lacked basic respect and transparency. I would not bring an animal here if you expect to be kept informed or consulted. We tried everything we could to save this chick, keeping it safe, warm, and getting it to a clinic as soon as possible. It was heartbreaking to learn the next day that the bird was simply “processed” with no meaningful communication, and without contacting us before making an irreversible decision. It felt like our effort and the animal’s life were treated as disposable. It felt like they didn’t even try. DISAPPOINTED! WE ARE SO REGRET THAT SENDING THE BIRD TO THIS HORRIBLE PLACE!

Fantastic experience: The team here are absolutely amazing. I’ve brought my two rabbits (now sadly just one) here for the last year or so. I lost my older rabbit, Teddy, from GI stasis and a few other issues that couldn’t be pinpointed, but the care Dr Anne gave him was incredible. On his final night, when he was extremely unwell, she even took him to her own home and cared for him all night. He passed the next morning before I got to say goodbye, but I know he was looked after with so much love in his last moments. Loosing Teddy made me loose a part of myself but after he passed, they sent me a card and a beautiful letter, which meant so much. The even contacted by local vets where I previously took them for vaccines etc and those vets also got in touch with me and sent a thoughtful card. They had so many options for what we wanted to do with him, I opted for cremation and within less than a week he was back home with me in a beautiful urn. The staff were so understanding and supportive throughout this process even with me in absolute uncontrollable tears. My second rabbit, Daisy, stays here whenever I go away, and they always give her the best care. She comes home healthy, extra clean, and super fluffy. She also has a couple of medical problems, and Dr Anne always explains everything clearly in a way I can understand. I seriously recommend this clinic for your rabbits. They truly care about your little buns ❣️

Negative experience: Our guinea pig Luna developed a bad ear infection. Dr Fowler prescribed Sofradex drops and weekly ear flushes, which we followed for almost a month. Unfortunately, the infection and pus persisted despite the treatment, and I began to feel uncertain about whether continuing the same plan was helping. I asked a few times whether there might be an alternative medication or approach, but did not feel that my concerns were welcomed. I was quite a surgery for 1500 and in the end the issue was resolved with different drops prescribed at a different clinic. Because Luna was still unwell, I sought a second opinion from another experienced vet who works with the guinea pig shelter who is further away from us but in the end it was worth driving an hour to get there. He immediately said that if Sofradex wasn’t working after 10 days it was unlikely to resolve the infection, and that prolonged use could risk antibiotic resistance. He prescribed PMP ear suspension, and within three days Luna’s infection began improving. Her weight is now increasing and her ear is healing. When I updated Dr Fowler with this positive outcome, her response was to inform me that she would no longer see my animals since I had gone elsewhere and “believed” another vet. I found this disappointing, as my intention was simply to share Luna’s progress and thank her for her earlier help, not to sever the relationship. Because if this response I now won’t be going back. I am writing this review so that other pet owners understand my experience. I would encourage anyone whose pet is not improving after repeated flushes or medications to feel confident seeking a second opinion. Every animal responds differently, and timely reassessment can make a big difference.

Fantastic experience: Really helpful and accommodating. Explained everything really well and gave options to consider. Very happy.

Rachael Dean Posted on Google 7 months ago

Negative experience: Very little compassion. After an euthanasia although they said condolences, there was no card or anything. These days most vets at least give you a condolences card, some even give you prints of your pets feet. Not here. I was very disappointed. All they cared about was getting the money. I wished I had gone to my usual vet clinic at Marion small animal hospital, they treat their clients very well and with much care and compassion. I won't be back to this exotic pet place. Defs over priced too.

Negative experience: Doctor Fowler claims to specialise in birds/rodents/reptiles but when I took my 3 ducklings to see her she gave me blatantly incorrect information regarding their nutrition. She claimed that they did not need Vitamin B3 (which ducks need for survival due to the necessary Niacin content) and to stop giving it to them. She then sold me on giving them Passwell crumbles feed which is not suitable for ducks, considering it is feed for birds such as parrots/lorikeets. She is the foulest, most ill tempered and condescending person I have ever had the displeasure of being in contact with and though I could put up with her behaviour towards people I will not stand for giving me advice that could have directly harmed my beloved ducklings. Stay away from this clinic and go to the Unusual Pet Vet in Prospect instead!

Fantastic experience: Dr Anne Fowler is nothing short of amazing! Her expertise in exotics and the heartfelt care she provides when treating them is why I won't take my rabbit anywhere else. Really can't praise her and her surgery enough.

Negative experience: Anne has ChatGPT level empathy. Dr Brett is a living legend though! It sucks I am giving 1 stars.

Liz I Posted on Google 8 months ago

Negative experience: My 14 year old Eclectus died in my arms due to Ann Fowlers incorrect diagnosis. So NO he clearly wasn’t JUST hormonal & jealous because got another parrot!!! His death is 100% the fault of Ann Fowlers wrong diagnosis. I wouldn’t take a pillow pet to see you

Kaitlyn Higgins- Bargery Posted on Google 8 months ago

Negative experience: The vet, Ann? Super insensitive towards me having my loved chicken put to sleep bringing up her own political views for some weird reason, just overall horrible bedside manners, I didn't say anything during consult because I was more worried about being there for my pet who was being put to sleep for cancer. Then to have no one disclose there was a euthanasia fee of 180 dollars. Insensitive and I won't be back, I will however continue to see Brett. While I appreciate what you have done for my chicken, I wong be back here.

Negative experience: The negative reviews are unfortunately accurate. I don’t usually take every Google review at face value, but my first visit here was unacceptable. She (Anne Fowler) claims to be the only vet in SA qualified to treat rabbits, but her outdated advice and questionable approach suggest otherwise. Both of my rabbits were handled so poorly that they became visibly stressed — something I have never experienced at our regular vet. To make matters worse, she performed a diagnostic test without our consent. She came across as condescending and dismissive, while exaggerating their condition in a way that felt manipulative. I left with serious doubts about her professionalism and integrity. We will be consulting a second opinion from our regular vets at the Unusual Pet Vet in Prospect. I strongly recommend avoiding this clinic.

Fantastic experience: I’m truly and deeply thankful to Dr. Anne Fowler and her team for the care they gave my cockatiel Evie during a very difficult time. Dr. Anne immediately understood the seriousness of the situation. She took immediate, thoughtful action, and the level of compassion and expertise she showed was extraordinary. She answered every question we had too. She not only provided the medical care Evie required, but also treated her with gentleness and genuine kindness. Even when the clinic was closed, Dr. Anne made time to check in and speak with me — something I’ll never forget given the situation we were in. Thanks to her care, Evie is back home after hospitalisation and on the path to recovery. Dr. Anne is deeply skilled, observant, and truly devoted to her patients. I cannot recommend her enough for anyone seeking expert avian care.

Fantastic experience: My African Grey parrot had a nasty injury and after going to an emergency vet that night, I followed it up with seeing Dr Anne Fowler the next day. She was absolutely incredible. Full of brilliant advice, really funny and she has a gift with birds. I am thrilled to have found her and would recommend her to anyone who has birds or any other exotic pets. 5 stars.

Negative experience: I took my chicken there on Saturday and the diagnose was potential egg yolk peritonitis. I asked about the option of keeping on draining her and was told it would cost $60 per week and over three thousand dollars for a year. I was suggested I could bring her back for surgery. And Dr Brad was going to do the surgeryfor her. As Dr Brad has killed one of my chickens before and the way he conducted himself during that operation was questionable( if he is experienced). I booked in for a surgery and did my own research determined not to get the operation for her but to get the hormone treatment to stop her laying eggs again and drain her as we go. I took my chicken in yesterday and had this consultation Dr Brad, who pointed out that 1. my chicken has cancer inside. 2. If I don't have the chicken opened up and have the surgery, I could not get rid of the fluid retention. I asked him if he would see the success rate of being 90%? He said would be more than that. However, during the consultation, 1. he did not disclose that the fluid could have been caused by cancer too. Ie. After the operation, the chicken could still suffer from fluid retention! ( I would have said no to the operation of opening her up) 2. he said he would go in there and clear out the cancer cell. 3. He said even chicken with cancer could live happily months after the operation. he operated on two birds, one was unwell after the operation and died within a week, the other one is still doing very well a few months after. Received the call after operation late yesterday afternoon. Dr Brad changed his tone to: He found cancer, with the cancer, the body fluid will come back soon. I will have to drain her very soon. She might die shortly too. Totally changed from what he said before the surgery. After the ominous call last night I was overwhelmed with depression and fear for my chicken's life. I regret I left her there and did not take her to seek a second opinion. I knew those two vets rarely delivered in the past! Ann once conveniently omitted the fact that one of my other chickens could not eat on her own anymore when she sent it home from her care and died the following day! But i still left my chicken there and not following my gut. I was resentful that they be oth omitted the important facts and mislead me in making the wrong decision where they benifits financially this time and after by treating the side effects of the operation. This morning, I prayed that I would receive a call to take my chicken home. But at 1.15pm Dr Ann called in with bad news that my chicken died at 12.30 and I did not even have a chance to be at her side. Snow was so strong before she went into the surgery that it took two people to feed her the antibiotics. I will never send any chickens to these two in the future. They are money driven!!! I was given a quote of $1200 for the operation on Saturday. As I had bad experience, I asked the receptionist after consultation with Ann, what was included and if it was fixed. The receptionist checked with Ann, and came back said it was all inclusive Then on Tuesday, Dr Brad said the cost would go from $1100 to $1800. I said but I was given the quote of $1200 fixed!! Tbh, I was going to The Unusual Pet Vet for a second opinion. Because we agreed on the price, I did not go. And Dr Brad seemed to accept it in the end reluctantly. After leaving the clinic, I thought maybe I should take my Snow away as Dr Brad is not going to do his job properly now. No surprise, in his call he said he did not clear any of the cancer cells. To me we are operating to eliminate the fluid and the cause in her body. If it cannot be done, I would have chosen to be conservative and had the fluid drawn out without opening her up. I would have spent the $1200 draining her 20 times and she would still be alive. Instead of spending $1200 to have her killed! These vets want quick money and do not care they took away your loved ones' life! Also they are incompetent!!!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Anne was warm, knowledgeable, and reassuring when I sought advice about my cockatiel's chronic egg laying. It was evident that my bird felt safe in her care. She took the time to thoroughly discuss the issue with me before quickly and painlessly administering the necessary medication via injection.

kyron franklin Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: I took my bearded dragon here when she was extremely unwell, the vet gave her a quick look over and prescibed her medication to stop her vomiting, the vet stated to me "Reptiles cant fake it they will let you know if they are unwell" my pet died 2 days later, so how is it a vet i went to for help failed to recognise the signs of what i believe was impaction in a lizard, more focused on getting the money and rushing me out the door than actually helping, now i feel like I let my pet down when she needed me most, if I had picked a different vet she might still be alive

Fantastic experience: Confident, timely (got me an appointment quick) and helpful, clear service! Great with my cockatiel!

laura stewart Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: I have not had any good experiences here. They killed my pet rat as a direct result of there incompetence. Dr Anne fowler is rude, condescending and unprofessional she goes off on weird tangents when you have a question and you end up more confused than when you first get there and end up with zero answers and a big bill. Every single time I tell the receptionists I have rats she always says rats are nice but a shame they don't live very long, thanks for reminding me. Don't go here try the unusual pet vets they are much better

Sharon Siemers Posted on Google 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: The vets, nursing staff and on reception care deeply about birds, rabbits, snakes and lizards. They have been able to heal a chicken who other vets had not been able to. They are also very kind and practical when the prognosis is not good. I cannot speak highly enough of the vets here for your bird or exotic animal

Random25252 Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: At one point I had posted a positive review for this place, but have had to change it due to further interactions showing me the reality of how lacking in all but ego the management of this enterprise must be! If you are okay throwing away money to not be listened to, I would highly recommend it.

Negative experience: Bird died the very next day after the vet said ‘everything is ok’. He got bited by dog, but vet just gave us a lecture rather taking care the bird first. The bird really suffered in his last second, he was so tired to lift the head and just use his mouth as a crutch, and he can’t eat anything but just some coconut water. Then He fell down weakly, looking at me with blank eyes, and finally twitched and tightened his claws, and finally lost consciousness and vomited, this is the end. Bird are too small to a human, but human can NOT do anything to save them, but at least I know he is NOT OK, as an unprofessional man……We buried him under the big tree in front of our house,a really giant tree where there are many of his kind. May he live forever and be happy

C Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: I had a trouble experience with “Dr.” Anne (are you even properly trained to treat different animals). She started the appointment with jokes, completely ignoring my pet’s symptoms and the urgent concerns I raised. Instead of addressing the situation seriously, she focused on lecturing me, which is not what I expect from a doctor. In the end, she prescribed medication that clearly wasn’t suited to treat my pet’s condition, which is common sense to anyone who knows even a little about these things. She claimed it was “super strong,” but my pet passed away the very next day. I’m furious at Anne’s unprofessional behavior and lack of knowledge. It’s okay not to have all the answers, but be honesty or even do a quick research. If you didn’t know how to properly treat my pet, you should have been upfront about it so we could have sought help elsewhere. My advice: save your pet’s life and don’t go there. Maybe it has been too long since she got her certificates, should be trained again.

clintang84 Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: Our visit to Anne was like a bad Tinder date Looking at the good “reviews” we had so many expectations yet we were disappointed at every stage! A standard first date with Anne is typically an entree of arrogance, carefully paired with a first course of unprofessionalism and sides of condescending, complimented with a deconstructed bedside manner washed down with a lecture about being irresponsible … If you feel this is the level of “service” you, go for it!

Fantastic experience: Excellent care and service. Anne is very knowledgeable and caring. Even though my Ecelectus passed, she was in great hands. Would totally recommend.

Positive experience: I have recently swapped over, though they are really good at they're work but horrible at communication and time. I have waited min 45 mins and up to hours for appointments made.

Fantastic experience: For many years now we have had reason to be very grateful for the hard work and dedication of Dr Anne Fowler and her team. They have taken such good care of our rabbits and chooks. Dr Anne's knowledge and experience of exotics medicine is incredible. She and her team work so hard. Good luck in your new premises.

Negative experience: I’ve been visiting here for my guinea pig’s appointments until he passed away. Got really disappointed this time for my rabbits’ general checks as I had to wait in the room for half an hour without any explanations till I asked. I understand that sometime an appointment could run overtime due to complexities but a heads up would be really appreciated.

Negative experience: We have not had a great experience with Dr fowler....still waiting nearly 5 weeks to see test results for ADV. Was given the run around as to what lab it was sent to for 3 weeks To then a week and a half later we called again to be told test was in 4 days ago but they hasn't had time to call us Was then told the actual results would be emailed that day.....it's now been over a week and they can't find the results to show us. They are going to look and gwt back to us and still NOTHING, I'm not sure they even sent the test away and have just taken our money.

Megan Patterson Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: I went in there in a stressful situation and the vet made it worse. I am all for educating but there is a time and place and also make sure that the information given is correct, instead of jumping to assumptions.

Jess Posted on Google 1 year ago

Negative experience: I didn't even get to the point of visiting this vet before I cancelled with Dr Ann due to her disgusting lack of bedside manner with me over the phone, and the clinic's insistence upon evading questions about pricing. Was told when I called the eve of my pet's surgery that they may board her for up to seven days post op. Understandably, I wanted to go in prepared as vets are expensive as it is without boarding, so I asked how much this would cost. Instead of a cost estimate the receptionist told me, "if it's over $300 you can go through Vet Pay (external creditor)". I said I would prefer not to go through them and instead know the out of pocket expense so was transferred through to the vet who eventually simply told me, "we subsidise costs". Dr Ann was incredibly condescending, treated me like an idiot and an inconvenience, and launched into an aggressive tirade about how I "probably googled a lot of things so now have all of these questions" when all I wanted to know was an estimate cost for a week of boarding - surely a reasonable request, something people frequently ask about and that the clinic damn well knows the answer to. I was told to write down a list of everything I want to ask (again, I had ~one question~) and that they would answer them all during my pet’s consult where, once I've heard what it's going to cost for boarding, I can decide whether or not I want to go ahead with the surgery. After I've paid $78 for said consult, of course. I ended up cancelling my appointment soon after this. I provided feedback to the receptionist about Ann’s tone; she ended up being as passive aggressive and nasty as Ann herself. I ended up booking in with another vet who has a great deal of empathy for not only her furry clients but also their owners, and immediately offered me all the information ABEVC never bothered to tell me (including preoperative prep!!) Upon inquiring about boarding they told me it's extremely unlikely they'd need to keep my girl in for a night letalone a week, and that any follow up needed can likely be done on an outpatient basis. As someone who much prefers the company of animals I empathise with how difficult and exhausting it can be to interact with people especially under pressure, but Ann seems to forget people are seeking her out in the first place because they want the best for their animals - it costs nothing to take a beat and offer information in a kinder, gentler manner instead of accusing and criticising clients to the point they don’t want to return (or go at all). If animal care is that important to her then she and her reception staff need to understand that a good bedside manner and relationship with the human half of the equation are just as important to ensure they continue bringing their animals for the top tier care this clinic supposedly wants to/does give. Acting like a psychotic bully is the least effective way to get your point across or gain people’s trust in you and your services. It really is a shame to say because Adelaide has a dire shortage of exotics vets but I do have to recommend saving yourself the time, anxiety and money, and instead find a vet who'll treat both your beloved fur AND human family with a little respect and kindness during what are often already upsetting, stressful situations.

Negative experience: It was the 12th of June, as reluctant as I am to write this I feel I need to express my grief for my poor bird, pyrotine . A very special rainbow lorikeet 8 years old. she passed away 11th august,so sad. Feather plucking was the reason for attending. So after waiting an hour to see the vet, she was initially very thorough. After I full examination she said that our bird was enaemic but she mainly focused on behavioural issues and had no problems in telling us all the things we are doing wrong. When asked about the enaemia, we were told get her behaviour sorted and the feather plucking will stop. We were sent home with some sedation medication ( which didn't work)and a list of things we were to do. We left feeling very deflated and thought we were the worst bird parents as we were doing practically everything wrong. We persisted with her instructions, changed her diet. However nothing was working, not even the medication. My partner and I had several conversations regarding our new care plan and also wondered why the vet didn't treat the anaemia and provide a collar for her plucking. We just thought, she is the vet and would know what is best. The morning of 11/8, we raced our bird to another vet as she was in a bad state. She was very weak, panting and her colour had gone. Upon arrival they took our bird and put her straight into a incubator. The vet told us she was critically anaemic. Within half an hour she had passed. Such a tragic loss. The advice I would give anyone who loves and cares for their pets. Vets don't always get it right. If we had been more insistent on the vet treating her anaemia, maybe the outcome may have been different. We will not go back there again. Our bird died as a result of the vet not treating her anaemia.

Negative experience: Extremely disappointed with the treatment i received, Anne Fowler was very arrogant and belittling towards me and others would say the same! I highly suggest taking your animals elsewhere.

Positive experience: Placed in a room and made to wait 50 minutes past my appointment. Then the vet comes in and says she accidentally went to the wrong room, serving the client that was meant to be after us. But she seemed to be very knowledgeable about bearded dragons and gave a lot of advice but my daughter, who owns the bearded dragon, was told by a group she is in, that all info was outdated. Not sure if that's the case or not.

Shay Purple Posted on Google 2 years ago

Negative experience: After waiting in a room for almost an hour past my appointment, the vet finally came in after closing time and repeatedly told me that I am “killing my bearded dragon”, then proceeded to provide a whole heap of outdated information. I left the appointment with 0 answers & don’t plan on returning. I don’t recommend for bearded dragon issues!

Fantastic experience: Edited: Having seen the many ad hominem reviews that go for the throat, I encourage folks to consider the information rather than how it was delivered. In particular, many folks take issue with Dr. Fowler's tone, but I have consistently observed that irrespective of what she discusses or how she discusses it, our bunnies benefit from her recommendations and treatments. I don't go there to be waited on like a bloody guest, I go there because my pets are treated like they're more important than my opinion.

Fantastic experience: Took my lizard to this place because I was worrying about him. They were very helpful and informative about his condition and helped him massively. Could not be more thankful 10/5

Arianne Tomas Posted on Google 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: Dr Anne is phenomenal. My partner and I would never trust anyone else with our bunnies. She's so informative and explained what she was doing to our bunnies during the consult so that we knew what was happening, which we're incredibly appreciative of. Dr Anne is incredibly knowledgeable and we're very thankful that she's our bunnies vet.

Negative experience: They care only about referrals and money. My bird has worn a cone for self mutation for over 10years. Just want to replace her cone and was told unless I was there client they can't sell me one.

Stephanie Scanlan Posted on Google 2 years ago

Positive experience: The vet was punctual and knowledgeable. However it was expensive, and the avian vet didn't stay on topic. She made recommendations that were unwarranted, and involved further time and money. Then said to remove certain bird toys I had, in the cage. She regarded them as unsafe. I noticed the same toys were for sale on their premises!

Negative experience: Zero stars. Took in a duck to be put down who had already been sleeping peacefully. The staff were extremely loud border lining shouting. After waiting 20 mins past my appointment time we couldn't deal with the road noise, staff noise, nor the heat and decided my pet wasn't going to die in that hell hole. Staff also asked me if I thought it was time to put him down, who Fn asks that. No kidding I'm here, booked in, well prepared and they're bringing that up. I wouldn't let a cockroach die in that environment! Might as well hold your funerals at a fast food restaurant surrounded by screaming kids if you're going to take your pet here.

gerti szili Posted on Google 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: Despite being an extremely busy clinic, the staff display a personable nature and genuine concern for all the visiting feathered and furry creatures. Dr. Brett stands out as exceptional, demonstrating extensive knowledge and a commitment to thorough diagnoses rather than resorting to immediate medication for our bird's care.

Kendy Murphy Posted on Google 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: Always helpful staff and look after our birds when they’re unwell. Arlo (cockatiel) needed urgent help and we were able to get her the help she needed

Fantastic experience: Anne is absolutely amazing full of knowledge my partner took our precious turtle today after been given such wrong advice from a vet I wish we had taken squirtle sooner I'm so grateful of the knowledge and advice you gave today. Please do yourself a favour take your babies here she is the best in Adelaide by a mile.

Craig B Posted on Google 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: One of the best vets there is. Anne is fantastic at what she does, very friendly and has looked after our rabbit for a few years now. The poor reviews are bewildering, please try this vet for yourself you will not be disappointed. They can get busy at times but the staff do a pretty good job as they get a lot of walk in people with emergency situations. Thanks again Anne and team, see you soon.

Fantastic experience: Dr Anne Fowler has exceptional knowledge and experience in small mammals. She has treated my rats over the years. I highly recommend this veterinary clinic. The staff are helpful and kind too.

Negative experience: Worst vet you could go too. We brought our juvenile bearded dragon here early last year for a check up with Dr Anne as at the time we had never had a bearded dragon before and were just after some basic knowledge and a health check. She spent the whole entirety of our appointment telling us we were killing our bearded dragon, the setup was wrong, that we might as well be feeding it cardboard instead of the crickets we were giving her and to top it all off that she would be surprised if it lived for much longer. After all this, we were charged close to $100 for a 15 minute appointment and left with absolutely no more knowledge on what to do to improve our mistakes, instead just her attitude and opinion on what we were doing wrong. The next day we booked in for an appointment with our local Vet at Aberfoyle hub and they were incredible (Highly recommend). Our bearded dragon was in perfect weight, health condition, her cage is setup the way it should be and she is very social compared to most! Now almost a year later safe to say she is still very much alive and thriving. Would not recommend this vet to anyone. Waste of money, Waste of time and surprisingly enough the internet has more useful knowledge on how to look after a bearded dragon then her.

Fantastic experience: I had occasion to take my sick bunny with a stasis of the gut problem to this practice, and I was very happy with their professionalism, care and kindness shown to me. Everyone from the vets, to the wonderful lady at reception, I couldn't rate them highly enough.

Michelle Menadue Posted on Google 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: Took my sick bunny there. He spent the day there. Really friendly staff and spent the time going over the treatment plan with you . showing you want to do etc.

Jacques Klop Posted on Google 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: My go to place for birds and exotics their vets are top class. Being a native wildlife rescuer there is no better place than this one with Dr. Anne Fowler advising and treating all those that are sick or injured.

Dale Eustice Posted on Google 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: We took Poppy the rabbit in for problems with her teeth. General anaesthetic. 2 teeth removed. 2 days in recovery. A1 treatment. Information, and medication for her follow-up at her home.

Ageing Hipster Posted on Google 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: The staff were very friendly and helpful. Anne the Vet we saw was very informative and experienced with parrots. Very caring and friendly.

Chari “DelTee” Posted on Google 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: I found an injured quail and brought it to this vet clinic. The place is really clean and the reception staff were super friendly. From their helpful demeanour and compassionate attitude made the experience even more positive. It's reassuring to know that the clinic has such dedicated and kind-hearted staff.

Angus Cameron Posted on Google 3 years ago

Positive experience: Initial interaction was fine, they were busy and we were happy to wait. Saw the vet Anne and was told to wait again in the lobby as she gets syringes but doesn't and goes into another room with another customer. We wait again kindly and patiently only to be spoken to with attitude and abruptly when ask if she could finish our consultation.

Fantastic experience: Great experience to get to close Two lovely ladies put On a great show for us all to enjoy & learn about the wildlife we have around is

Fantastic experience: Really great service and understanding of our creature's needs ( Bearded Dragon). Highly recommended.

Simon Dee Posted on Google 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: Has great care and caters to most. My bunnies are very much cared for and treated well with a wealth of information and experience.

Lana Banana Posted on Google 3 years ago

Positive experience: Front desk staff are incredible! I’m grateful for the vets and what they do but I don’t appreciate the patronising tone. I am on the spectrum and I find it hard to understand what someone is saying when they are weaving passive aggressive remarks into what they are saying. And they didn’t give us enough medicine for the course of treatment. But thank you for caring about the birds. And I love the people at the front desk!

wendy o'sullivan Posted on Google 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: I cannot thank Anne and her team enough for looking after our big baby girl. Zilla was the most friendly and loveable bearded dragon. Although her little body was too sick to stay with us, you did everything you could and more. Your care and kindness meant so much to a little boy saying farewell to his dear friend. Thank you from the bottoms of our hearts.

Mel Doe Posted on Google 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: We thought we were going in with our Muscovy duck and wouldn't be coming out with him alive. Dr Anne went out of her way to take him on and try some therapies he regained a lot of strength over night surprising us all. He came home after two nights and is the boss of the henhouse again. Curing Anaemia in a duck that is at death's door is amazing. Anne is amazing. Could not recommend enough

maikku L Posted on Google 3 years ago

Negative experience: Went to their clinic 23/12 so they could send 4 tissue samples to pathology of my fish that was dying. I wanted to know if my fishes had mycobacteriosis, as I have lost 14 A1 fishes to signs of the disease. Vet said they would ring with results first week of January, it’s now February and they have not rang me once!, I have rang them 8 times and they keep telling me they will ring and find out we’re the results are, and they are not doing anything, they are in a hurry to take your money! And are more expensive than other vets and the place is a mess when you walk into clinic, if other vet had vacancies that day I would not have gone in.

Shaira Lerin Posted on Google 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: I recommend coming here especially if you have birds or exotics because they really look after you and your pet. :) Always busy here as there is only one veterinarian on but seeing different animals while waiting and talking to the lovely staff makes it worth it. :)

Mal Goldman Posted on Google 3 years ago

Negative experience: Staff were inattentive, I was left waiting at the desk for 20 minutes. Vet was 20 mins late for apt. Misdiagnosed our rabbit. Was told there was nothing wrong with him after a door fell on him but he couldnt eat. Took him to another vet, they recognised he had broken his jaw and resonctructive surgery was not possible so he was put down. This should have happened sooner to avoid his suffering.

Fantastic experience: Dr Fowler is an amazing vet and we always know she will take great care of our 2 little buns

Matthew Williams Posted on Google 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: Anne is an amazing vet. She is good, thorough and has a great bedside manner. On site hospital facilities for your pets. The sort of place that you hope you dont need, but glad to have when you do need them. Small range of apparel to buy in the shop if you want it.

Vicdoria i Told u So Posted on Google 3 years ago

Positive experience: Dr.Anne is/was always at least 20 mins late to attend our appointment, but she seems to know what she is doing, and prolly care too?. We found her quite rude to us sometimes. One of our rabbit passed away at this vet and we were super sad, cost a lot trying to save him but Dr.Anne still could not save him. Staffs at the front are ok, some are good some are so so. This is not the best nor the worst vet I have been to but it is handy for us because it is the nearest one in this area.

Andrew Fitzgerald Posted on Google 3 years ago

Negative experience: A Karen’s diner experience Terrible experience for the onset. Staff put us on hold for 15mins before answering our call and when we arrived the receptionist didn’t even acknowledge us standing at the counter. The vet Anne was extremely passive aggressive and condescending. We presented her with a healthy and social rabbit and her response was to rudely interrogate us without cause. Like many of the reviews, she is very unusual and has zero bedside manner. She even felt it necessary to give us a lesson on how to stroke our own rabbit. For those reading this review, do yourself a favour and go elsewhere.

Negative experience: Our turtle has stayed in boarding here twice The first time he got very sick and we just though nothing of it, the second time I had their water tested and the guys who tested it said the water was so bad and unsafe for a turtle. I called them and was first told that she knew nothing about the conditions only that the water was changed every few days 20/100 then to say that she’s not sure if the water we dropped him in was the same water which I said this should never be the case and she agreed. So I emailed and no response. These guys charge an arm and a leg and have so much to say yet have a lot of improvements to be made. I waited 45 mins to pick our turtle up at 11am and the keeper came back from shopping no wonder the water is so bad. I even paid over the phone for a quick pick up. These guys don’t care about our turtle and they know they can get away with this because they’re the only exotic animal boarding and vet in the south

Fantastic experience: Dr Anne is so nice, she is very professional. Expect for checking health for my bunny careful, she also told me lots of informations.

Jo Mailman Posted on Google 3 years ago

Negative experience: Our beautiful rabbit was sick and passed away at this vet. The vet had no compassion at all, staff were horrible and I would never recommend this vet at all. The way we were treated made an already sad time even worse.

Samantha Loch Posted on Google 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: Saved my bunnies life. I was so worried I would lose her and she was kindly fit in for an emergency appt within the hour. She had E. Cuniculi and gut stasis. There was immediate improvement in her behaviour after her emergency overnight stay. I received helpful hands on training from the vet nurse in feeding critical care and closely followed the discharge plan from Dr. Anne and within a week she was healthy and happy. I am still continuing medication as per the plan but am already so pleased with her progress. I am truly grateful

Sean Hayes Posted on Google 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: Excellent vet, explains everything in detail and has the best interests of the pet in mind. Staff are very polite and friendly. We bring our chickens either here or South Coast Vet. Both are excellent and very knowledgeable with birds.

Megs Maloney Posted on Google 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: I was totally blown Away by this vet. She handled my very skittish rooster with ease and was so kind and gentle with him. We can't even Pat him but she had him sitting on her table letting her examination him. She gave great advice too. It was a bit of a drive for us, but totally worth it!!

Black Cat Posted on Google 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: Dr Anne has helped my rabbit in a few dramas, and as a first time rabbit owner she takes time to give good advice. She is direct because she has so much compassion for the animals. My bun is happy and healthy because of the amazing staff there.

Jacob Courtidis Posted on Google 3 years ago

Fantastic experience: 5/5 stars for the service from these guys. Our beloved budgie Ronni was taken there into emergency as he suddenly fell very sick, unfortunately he passed away after we took him there. The staff were absolutely lovely and very supporting and they didn’t charge us for the visit, even sent us a letter a few weeks later in the post. Great service

Lee Lee Posted on Google 3 years ago

Negative experience: Our rabbit of 9 years died under the "care" of these vets. Please please think twice about your pets care before you trust this horrendous vet like we did, it is not worth their suffering. They performed poor checkups leading to a missed diagnose with surgery required, neglect during the short aftercare leading to loss of leg use, discharged too early while he was still drowsy and unable to move, leading him to pass shortly after. There were just too many stages of errors and neglect that should never have happened. All of this happened while they were constantly putting us down, talking over us and cutting us off for asking questions and "getting in the way of the expert". Don't let them scare you when they constantly yell that by questioning the vet, your putting your pets life at risk. Your pet deserves better then these aggressive, egotistical, negligent vets.

Fantastic experience: Anne saved my Cockatiel Ellie's life this week. Did overnight hospitalisation and today back to normal. Anne is amazing and very reasonably priced too. Thank you Anne ❤

Fantastic experience: Sometimes when you get to this vet you can expect a wait but that's because every staff member here works extremely hard to look after your pet. Great service and amazing people

Fantastic experience: Thank you for saving our bunny Cinnamon Buns life! My partner and I are beyond grateful! Thank you for all the information. I have learnt my lesson regarding pellets and I’ve applied all advice!

Fantastic experience: Thanks for all your help today removing the angry wild rainbow lorikeet that was hiding inside my console near my heater vent. 5 star service. Will come again next time a wild animal attacks me and comandeers my vehicle. ☆☆☆☆☆

Negative experience: Ann Fowler is absolutely the worst person I’ve ever met in her profession she is a disgrace. Her attitude is the worst and she is insulting to everyone.

Pashalise Farming Posted on Google 4 years ago

Negative experience: DO NOT SEE VET ANN FOWLER !!! Read all the reviews and I agree 100% on everything they said as I experienced the same treatment, my Joey broke her leg but it was due to poor diet and my neglect apparently. Absolutely disgusted with her and I feel so much better reading I’m not the only one. Toxic person ⚠️‼️

Monika Posted on Google 4 years ago

Negative experience: I don’t recommend this clinic, I was treated horribly after my rabbit suffered an adverse reaction to the calicivirus vaccine, the main vet Anne charged over $2000 for a surgery to remove an abscess that developed after the vaccine was administered, this further maimed my rabbit by creating a hole in his jaw then sold me multiple meds where he lost a lot of weight and died shortly after, she then told me my other rabbit who has glaucoma had to have surgery or be euthanised, I went to another vet for a second opinion and was told that he shouldn’t have surgery as he wouldn’t survive and that he should get a glaucoma pressure test to see if it was stable and that he may not need meds, this test was not offered by Anne, only meds including pain meds that were making him lose weight and mobility which she denied was the case even though it was evident that he looked better when it was stopped, she was rude and dismissive, this vet just wants to sell the drugs and cash in on suffering, she’s driven by profit not care for clients or pets, I will not be coming back, my 9yo rabbit does not need surgery, euthanasia or meds, he has been taken off the pain and kidney meds as recommended by another vet, his eye ulcer has shrunk significantly and his health has improved even though he was only given days to live, big pharma is a satanic industry, do your research and always opt for natural treatments, bottled water, organic vegetables and pellets, oaten hay, natural science supplements, grounding, affection and prayers help, take care.
