Negative experience: My cat was dying on Saturday I brang him here , before I come I called the vet they told me to bring my cat in ! When I got there they took my cat out the back only to return 5 mins later saying he’s breathing fast and there at capacity today ! I then had to drive to Sasha who were lovely ! I will never return to this vet again wasted my time didn’t care my cat was dying just palmed us off

Negative experience: Even in an emergency I would not return to this place. The vet had no idea. Our dog was mistreated, Took us to question if their thoughts were even correct. The nursing staff had zero empathy and told us to go away and they would call us….. our dog was fighting for its life… and not even an offer to see her, we had to be pushy for them to agree to a few minute visit. Absolutely broke my heart this place. Thank our lucky stars for Sash, our our beautiful girl would be gone! Close down your a disgrace

Fantastic experience: At the end of our dogs life, the compassion and empathy we received was beyond words can describe. The team here are kind and caring, there was no rush at the end. Information given for the process was concise and simple to understand at a time when you can't think straight. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts and will continue the care of our other pets here, with confidence that they are receiving the best veterinary care in the area.

Negative experience: I was disappointed with the service provided during my recent visit. The veterinarian advised that my dog had an intestinal blockage based solely on a physical examination and recommended immediate surgery. However, an X-ray was not offered, as I was told they preferred to proceed directly to surgery rather than sedate him for imaging and then wake him prior to a surgical procedure. Concerned about moving forward without diagnostic imaging, I sought a second opinion the following day. The second veterinary clinic conducted appropriate imaging and confirmed that there was no obstruction present. This experience was both stressful and costly, and it caused unnecessary concern regarding my dog’s health. I felt pressured toward surgery without sufficient diagnostic evidence, and when I declined, I did not feel supported in exploring alternative options. While I understand that veterinary professionals must make clinical judgments based on their assessment, I believe diagnostic imaging should have been performed prior to recommending an invasive surgical procedure. I hope this feedback encourages a review of processes to ensure that pet owners are fully informed and that appropriate diagnostics are considered before recommending major interventions. On top of it all i had to put mt dog down two days later because no one knew what was wrong with him and he was severely sick.

The receptionist kindly sent my invoice to our pet insurance company however I wished I would have been made aware that I could have paid for the Gap Only scheme. I'm new to my pet insurance policy and didn't realise it was an option.

Fantastic experience: Although my poor Alfie was so unwell, the team at Golden Grove were super friendly and professional. They were unable to fit him in for the treatment he needed but swiftly found a vet close by that could care for him. The cottage Grove team were extremely caring to me and Alfie. Positive experience: I had a VERY upsetting experience at Vets4Pets Northgate and called Golden Grove pleading for help for my sick dog. Lisa from Golden Grove was beautiful and so so understanding. The vet we saw (Tasho? Apologies if I got that wrong) was also so lovely. I’ve always used Golden Grove and won’t be going anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: I recently had to say goodbye to my beautiful golden retriever due to her declining. I range Vets4Pets at Golden Grove on a Sunday evening and was able to take her with a friend to the hospital for say goodbye. Dr Laura was the vet who showed so much compassion on this very sad occasion and made a very difficult event to be so personalised. She didnot rush me and allowed me to spend the amount of time I needed to say goodbye and also to stay with her afterwards. The amount of time I spent with her was entirely my choice and I was so greatful. We all know saying goodbye for our beloved pets is very very difficult but I can say the compassion was outstanding. Fantastic experience: Dr Cheryl treated my beloved Scottie after hours on Friday who had been vommitting on and off all day. I felt he was in trouble when he couldn’t keep his food down. She was very compassionate and took her time explaining treatment options. She administered an injection and asked me to observe him overnight and if his conditions deteriorated what my options were. The following morning he passed a large piece of rubber from a tennis ball. Thank you for taking the time to listen to my concerns and being so thorough with your examination. The best care and attention a person can wish for when it comes to their pets. Highly recommend her.

Reception team very understanding and have fantastic and helpful advise. Vets are lovely and kind to all three of my fur babies. Our youngest cat doesn't even need to take anxiety medications for vet trips anymore. Highly recommend whether it's just for general exams or unexpected emergencies. P.s the cat section of the waiting room is set up very well for anxious kitties.

Cannot speak highly enough of the vet I dealt with here recently (so sorry I have forgotten your name! *face palm*) who truly went above and beyond, late in the evening, to help me out. I won't go into the details suffice to say, the vet's willingness to help me out with a slightly unusual situation was just absolutely fantastic. Not the closest vet to where I live, and only went because they were open when I needed, but would go there again in a heartbeat even if it meant driving past closer vets. Fantastic experience: I brought my dog Nora (Hungarian Vizsla) in for her vaccinations. Nora is currently on anti anxiety meds so I was a bit anxious about the vets administering the vaccinations given her anxiety levels, especially at the vet. I booked in with Dr. Laura Taylor and I couldn’t of had a better experience. Dr. Laura sat with Nora and essentially gained her trust before any examination or vaccinations were given. She was even able to take blood for a general health check. Every time I come here the reception staff are so lovely as well. I so appreciate the time that was given to make Nora’s experience more comfortable. It was the first time I’ve seen her wag her tail at the vets. Amazing job!!!

Negative experience: It has taken me a few days to write this review... We attended golden grove vets for pets on Thursday night as an emergency with our beloved 12yo Dog. The vet tried to talk us into surgery which was going to be required regularly (he said possibly fortnightly), however ending in the outcome of euthanasia eventually. I think the option for putting our dog and our children through that and not knowing if she would be coming home each time was an aweful suggestion. As hard as it was to opt for euthanasia that is what we did. They said ok lets get payment sorted first then we can get the process happening. They took her to put in an iv line and we could hear her crying from our room. They brought her back to me, the iv line dragging on the floor and she sat at my feet awaiting affection... The vet came in to euthanase her. Whilst she was still sitting on my feet, he said he was pushing through some saline. He then administered the drug whilst she was still sitting up... not even quarter of the way in, she fell like a sack of potatoes... He finished pushing the syringe in and then he said her heart has stopped, and she is gone. Just let yourself out when your done. Didnt offer a blanket, or to get her comfortable first.. nothing at all..... The already aweful thing that we were facing became even worse with the vets lack of care and campassion. It felt more like an execution than a euthanasia. I do not reccomend this vet at all....

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing vet nurses here! I panicked yesterday after work hearing my dog somehow got hold of rat bait and consumed it. Thankfully as soon as my mother realised when she was home with him, she took him straight here and I was told they got our little furry friend in straight away from reception and gave him immediate treatment to get the rat bait out of his stomach. Words cannot express how grateful we are deeply that the vet saved our little friend ❤️ one day later he is back to his normal self, eating very well as well as playing and full of energy! Even though I was at work when my mother took our dog to the vet, after hearing about how amazing the vet nurses were with responding to the situation, I want to say thank you to the amazing staff! Please know on behalf of all pet owners, we love and appreciate your hard work to look after our furry friends! ❤️

Negative experience: I took a young injured wild bird in Sunday afternoon that i’d found in my backyard I found the front counter girl to be abit abrupt and uncaring when she took the bird off me Then i ring this morning hoping for an update to be told “oh no sorry i don’t know what happened to it as i wasn’t here and you signed a non disclosure form meaning i can’t tell you anyway” Like what… i’ve taken a bird in before to another vet and they even told me ring back later but they rang me instead to give me an update on it. I just think the staff member couldn’t be bothered finding out so told me this I won’t be taking any bird or animal there again

Fantastic experience: It has taken me some time to write this. On the 13.4.25 I rushed my dog to Vets4pets GG. As soon as we arrived they rushed to to help my dog as she was not in a good way at all. Over the next few hours they continue to treat Saffy all the while being honest & upfront with us. ALL the staff we so caring, professional, understanding & compassionate to us. As much as our dear Saffy did not make it, the service they gave her was outstanding & for that we thank them very much. Here is a photo of Saffy on a better day. Saffy will always be our hearts.

Fantastic experience: Our Reggie went for his annual vaccinations and was so well cared for. He was relaxed and calm. Always great customer service, especially Lisa on reception.

Negative experience: This place is an unprofessional circus! After repeated visits a week apart they had to keep asking what the problem was and what medication our dog was on. The first appointment they sent us home with a collar and medication, followed by the next vet saying surgical intervention should have taken place o the first visit. Then after surgery, they took his bandage off and said leave it to sort itself out basically.. they charged 3 times the amount as anyone else and extended the trauma for our pet in doing so. Will never go back.... convenience does not mean professional at this practice....

Fantastic experience: Dr Cheryl is the best cat vet we have seen here, she listens to us, explains things clearly, takes time to answer any questions we have and makes our anxiety filled cat calm in her office. We are so thankful we found her ❤️ Kerry the receptionist is also great by getting us an emergency appointment and also gave good advice on the medicine my cat was prescribed.

Negative experience: Will never come back to this place. 1: dropped an uncapped syringe in the floor and continued to jab my dog 2: vet had dropped the pic to remove stitches, continued to remove them without getting a new clean one. 3: communication is absolutely poor. 4: put fear into me by saying. “High chance of a tumour” when a week later the vet had told me it’s not a tumour but a build up of keratin so you could have given him antibiotics 5: was not given that option for antibiotics 6: quick to take my $3,000 7: spoke to the vet about my experience there and she said “that’s not my concern” 8: receptionist is rude and condescending So yeh, def will not be taking my pets there again. I’m very happy to hear my pet doesn’t have a tumour but to take advantage of people like this to take their money is absolutely disgusting !!!

Fantastic experience: Appointment was available as an emergency. Staff very friendly Dr was very competent and medication was effective within 24hrs highly recommend this veterinary practice.

Negative experience: My wife and I attended Vets4pets with our sick Cat on Saturday the 30th. To say we were highly disgusted with the service was an understatement. I was told when I rung up that my cat would be triage upon arrival as he was finding it very difficult to breathe. Upon seeing reception we were told to take a seat and a vet would be with us shortly. I explained that our cat was meant to be triaged upon arrival for assistance in breathing. Was told to sit down and the vet will be with us shortly. While waiting it had been half an hour and none had attended to our cat. He started to become very distressed so I went up to the front counter and said someone needs to triage our cat now , as his become more distressed . To which the reception lady stated " oh I thought you had been seen too" .....(not good enough). He was taken out the back and put on oxygen while we were in the consulting room with the vet. The vet said there was nothing they could do for him and that we would have to take him to Roseworthy vet hospital (all while he was struggling to breathe). They literally had our cat on oxygen for not even half an hour put a line in and charged us $230 for absolutely nothing! It is completely unacceptable, to charge the amount you did for a service that took you not even 10 mins to tell us that you can't help( how can a quick look over provide adequate judgement on an animals condition or what's causing it without proper investigation???). We are highly dissatisfied with the service (and that's not the first time) we have experienced less than satisfactory care from this clinic. Now our fur baby is no longer with us .. We will not return.

Fantastic experience: The vets and staff at Vets4Pets were amazing during a recent emergency with our very sick and very contagious dog. They fit us in when we didn't have appointments to give our girl excellent care and we cannot thank them enough!

Negative experience: This pet hospital is terrible. On November 18, 2024, I found that my cat was breathing abnormally. On November 19, I sent the cat to this pet hospital. After an examination, it was said it is pulmonary infraction. The hospital prescribed medicines costing a total of 1,223.9 Australian dollars. Look at the price, oxygen 85.6 dollars!!! On November 22, 2024, my cat passed away. The vet and hospital Could not do anything except collect money from customers. If you want your pet to die quickly, please go to this hospital. There is no professionalism at all. It was plumpnary infraction, but they didn't give my cat any continuely IV antibiotics and asked me to give him oral medicine.

Fantastic experience: The staff there were incredibly helpful who were knowledgeable in their work. Sarina was gentle, in providing my cat with care, and answering questions to ensure a safe methodical procedure. I recommend anyone new looking for a vet to see Sarina as she provides strong care for any animal she sees and is extremely passionate in her work. Thanks Sarina!

Positive experience: You looked after my cat Bliss and did your best regarding the welfare of my beautiful and much loved Bliss. The only thing I would have preferred is to have been suggested a choice of after hours hospital. It was suggested by you to take her to SASH at Kent Town. My experience with SASH was not very pleasant. My husband and I were in shock to hear how sick Bliss was. We felt rushed and not given enough time to process and make the right decision. One of the doctors had no empathy at all. I wanted to have held my baby while she was put to sleep. SASH totally discouraged me to do that and now I am left with remorse for not insisting that I wanted to hold Bliss. I also feel we were misjudged because of our appearance at that time of the night. SASH thought we could not afford the expenses we were up for, so changed their mind on what treatment they would administer, to keep the expenses down. SASH is obviously a veterinarian clinic that thrive with pet owners that have pet insurance. We would have paid whatever it took to take Bliss home with us together with as much medication it took to make her comfortable. SASH first quoted us that it would cost between $10,000 to $12;0000 to care for Bliss. They expected us to have half of that money then and there. We have a $2,000 cap per day on our savings account and they made a big deal about it and then changed their mind on what treatment Bliss was going to get. Our invoice came to approximately $3,500 for less than 12 hours of treatment. I will not be recommending SASH to anybody.

Fantastic experience: The staff there are super kind and helpful. We found an injured rainbow parrot and brought the little one to the reception and they are so kind to look after it and try to find a carer for the bird.

Fantastic experience: Thank you for taking care of Mr Grey and treating his urinary blockage. He is doing well and enjoying Royal Canin Urinary SO (2021). Thank you again to the staff that helped remove carex featherfalls from Mr Grey's throat (2024). He loved all the compliments and extra fussing over him.

Negative experience: My dog was admitted twice and was misdiagnosed. They didn't offer me in house x-rays which resulted in my dog suffering for longer than needing to and eventually going into sepsis due to a foreign body. It was only that I received a referral to a specialist that it was discovered and was easily visible in the x-rays they took. This could have all been avoided. Ultimately I had to surrender her for her to receive a second life saving surgery as the medication she received with her second misdiagnosis prevented her from recovering and I couldn't afford any more surgery bills.

Negative experience: Most staff are really lovely and knowledgeable and I can’t and I wouldn’t dare fault them on that. The reason for my low rating is their pricing which is made up as they go along, The best for pet program that they run to help with payments is an absolute rip off and you actually see no discount, I have since switched over to healthy pets plus through Greencross Vets and I’m actually seeing the benefits now. I was once charged $60 for a script that I should’ve been given at my last appointment, but Was forgotten, I didn’t even speak to the vet. I literally rang and spoke to the vet nurse who got the vet to print it off for me and I still have to pay $60 for that. They overcharge with medications And in all honesty, it really makes me sad because I expected better from them

Fantastic experience: I almost lost my cat recently to a snake bite. Golden Grove Vets 4 pets were all over it. They got him in ASAP. They informed me of the costs and offered services that could help with the costs if we didn't have the money. They looked after my boy, cleaned him up (he had wet himself on the way in) and got him back on track again. After a 48 hour stay with them he had pulled through and was allowed to come home. The communication was great! I was kept updated on his status. They were more than happy to take my calls when i would ring to ask how he was doing. Also allowed me to bring my young children in to see him, as we were not sure if he would pull through. The cost no where near the quoted cost. I'm so greatful for the staff.

Negative experience: I will never be returning to the golden grove vets for pet, took my dog in three times in the span of less than two weeks. First time they said she had mastitis, second time they said it turned into a small infection. I can understand that people make mistakes, but it’s the third time that made me angry. Rang up and brought her in before her scheduled appoint saying that she is getting worse. Was waiting for 40 minutes past my appointment, was the only person in the waiting room for the entire time, then I overhear someone ask the receptionist if the vet even knew I was here to which she replied “I’m not sure”. Finally went into a random vet which was a different one than who I booked in with, she had no idea what my dog had and didn’t even read her notes. She didn’t seem to care that I said the infection had grown 10x from originally seen or that it smelt like death, just gave her the same antibiotics which I had to tell her multiple times that they were not doing anything. She agreed to give her different ones but blatantly said all the antibiotics were just guess work cause didn’t know what it was, didn’t want to test it and said come back in a week, she will be fine. She was wildly undertrained and didn’t really care or look to much into it. In less than two weeks I was charged for 3 consultation fees even though it was an ongoing issue and 6 lots of antibiotics which did nothing. ($650 overall) Not happy with golden grove, I booked her in with vet for pets the cottage the next day, they straight away told be to go see a specialist cause this isn’t good. After multiply tests I was told it was cancer and my poor girl passed away 2 weeks later. The cottage is amazing and cared but golden grove branch seem to care only about money and not ur pet

Negative experience: Not a happy customer sadly. I have no problem paying your after hours fees, and am super grateful you offer them but I expect the full service! Was simply given advice that could have been given over the phone, sent home with a urine collection kit and the after hours bill of course. My cat saw his usual vet this morning and will be euthanised as he is in a very bad way, hence us needing the emergency vet yesterday!

Negative experience: Was left in the waiting room and consultant room for over an hour. My dog was extremely ill. Spewed as soon as we walked in, told the receptionist multiple time how sick my dog was and he needed to be seen urgently and kept asking how much longer. Our words went unheard and not listened to. He continued to deteriorate in the consultant room. Again we kept asking how much longer. When finally seeing the vet, the worst was confirmed he had a twisted stomach and needed emergency surgery straight away or had to be euthanised. 5 grand later, I had to then rush him to SASH myself where he was cared for IMMEDIATELY no questions asked. If I had of known now what he had I would have gone straight to SASH as their care was amazing. My dog is only alive now due to SASHs after care.

Fantastic experience: My dog was bitten by another dog. These guys saw him straight away. Reassured us. Helped my dog. Staff very helpful and friendly.

Negative experience: I sought emergency care from Dr. Rebecca for my 7-day-old puppy due to diarrhoea and failure to gain weight, but the treatment received was suboptimal. I informed Dr. Rebecca that I had administered 20ml of formula to my puppy in one go, which my regular veterinarian later confirmed was excessive and caused the diarrhoea and my regular vet told me 5-8 ml in one go sufficient . Furthermore, I mentioned using sugar water and liver water to manage hypoglycaemia, which Dr. Rebecca was unfamiliar with, whereas my regular veterinarian was knowledgeable about this approach.

Fantastic experience: Amazing experience here. After taking my cat to a vet on Sunday elsewhere she was not treated and we left with no answers. We brought her in to vets4pets where we were given answers and she was treated and given pain relief instantly. All the staff were amazingly helpful and compassionate. I recommend this place highly

Negative experience: Money grabbing, uncaring vet. $40 to write a prescription that they fill. Then $120 for medicine that’s online for $40. On top of the $80 vet consult. Thought my 14 year old staffy might need to be put down. Before even checking the issue vet wanted to do surgury to remove lumps on legs. Absolutely ridiculous.

Positive experience: A friend and I had found an injured magpie and wanted to help it. It was dark outside and it clearly was scared. We spent a while catching it, it had an injured wing and a limp but ran and jumped and flew from us until we managed to get it into a towel. We took the little guy to this vet. He wanted to live. He put up a fight but we thought we were helping him. We surrended him to this vet and only after I had signed the forms were told if it was too expensive he will be humanely euthanised. I said I will pay. I will donate. I was told no. I called after to say I will rehabilitate him if needed. I do not have a licence so understandably was told no. But there was no offer of suggesting someone. I could have asked around. I have parrots and have friends who can rehabilitate but I was just being told one word, “no”. I have felt sick with guilt that if I had just left him where I found him to collect his feelings and wait for light then he may have flown away safely. Now I feel guilty that the last thing he saw was me chasing him and taking him to be killed. I thought I was helping. I gave 3 stars because as much as I’d give 1 for my experience, the reviews seem quite positive. Maybe I gave annoying vibes or something. I know bird people can be seen as crazy and you have to care to want to be a vet so I’m giving the benefit of the doubt. But because of the guilt in the pit of my stomach. I wish I hadn’t bought him here. And I’d like to share that publically incase anyone finds sick birds. If he was missing a beak or a leg etc then I get it, he can’t be a wild bird. He was missing a few flight feathers which can happen in a scare and had a limp. I wish there was more information on what to do in this situation. Because surely just euthanising everything isn’t the way. I will look into getting a rehab licence. They are clearly in need.

Fantastic experience: I am always confident and comfortable bringing my sick kitties to the Vets4Pets Golden Grove Emergency clinic as they have always been kind, sympathetic and caring. They explain exactly what is wrong and how to care for them back to health at home, communication is extremely good. I would recommend you bring your treasured pets to see these guys at the worst time for your pet for the best outcome, they will thank you later ‍⬛

Positive experience: Once again one of my dogs required vet assistance on a Sunday of course when it's expensive, however,the service and care given to tend to my injured dog was as usual excellent.The young vet (l believe her name is Julia!)did a marvellous and thorough job of looking after him,to the point and without pushing for unnecessary add ons like some vets business models seem to be! In short, always recommend Vets for Pets,in over 20 years never had a bad experience! Thankyou
