Fantastic experience: Very lovely reception and staff. If you have a injured or sick pet I would make the effort to come here for the difference in service but also the peace of mind that your pet is in loving hands. A love orientated practice rather than money.

Everyone on the team is so lovely, my cats remain calm and unbothered…even my highly anxious girl who is afraid of pretty much everything. The hardest thing about the visit is the 5 minute car ride there!

Positive experience: I had an impression this vet wad down to earth couple of years ago. But my recent visit for my cat changed my opinion. Its service and medicine are very over priced. I got eye ointment priced 3 times of normal price, Gabepentine 7 times of what I paid at another vet 3 months ago.

Fantastic experience: We moved to the area a little over a year ago now and begun visiting summer hill village vets for our two cats who originally needed some simple vaccinations and dental check ups. After a few months here one of our cats developed severe IBD which has been a stressful and upsetting process. We’ve been seen by multiple vets here and every single one takes the time to explain everything clearly and shows real care in my cats wellbeing. After every set back they treat both my cat and I with care and patience, always walking me through ways we can get back on track. Throughout all of our visits they’ve really shown that no matter how big or small the issue is, they’ll always provide us with an empathic approach and go the extra mile. Even though my cat is never very thankful to their faces, we’re both so lucky to have such a supportive clinic so close to home. Highly recommend using these vets!

Fantastic experience: The vet we normally go to in Marrickville was completely booked out and we were desparate to get an appointment ASAP. They were able to book us in the same day for our cat, Magnus. We explained to Dr Sandra that Magnus was severely underweight, not eating much and very lethargic. I was amazed at how easily Dr Sandra was able to handle the situation because Magnus, being a rescue cat, did not like to be handled by any human. She was very transparent about the fees involved to assess Magnus. Unfortunately the results were not good news, Magnus had an aggressive cancer and there was nothing they could do at that point. A kind staff member offered to bring some roast chicken for Magnus to eat which I will be forever grateful for. It was comforting to see Magnus enjoy something he loved so dearly, food. Thank you Dr Sandra and to all the staff there that supported us through such a difficult time and gave Magnus the best care possible.

Fantastic experience: We had a very positive experience at this clinic. Our staffy had swallowed a treat that could have caused an obstruction. Even though we weren't regular patients here, they quickly provided advice on the phone (Jessica), and saw us immediately we arrived. We were quickly triaged, advised of the procedure and our staffy was treated professionally, successfully and with great care by Layla. We arrived stressed and left very relieved!

Positive experience: Very happy with service but $69 is quite expensive for a post-op tooth extraction checkup with the nurse that took less than 5 minutes.

Fantastic experience: My 15 yo parrot Gino needed a check up after I noticed he has been standing on one leg recently. Sandra the vet makes him feel very comfortable and he responds positively to vet visits with her. We did a full health check due to his age (the cost was very reasonable) to make sure we are across any emerging health issues. Within 2 hours all tests were done and he was ready to be picked up. I really appreciate how fantastic with animals all the people at SHVV are. Gino does not consider vet visits a negative event, and that is priceless.

Dr Sandra was as always, totally focused and considerate about my concerns. She calmly proposed a sensible plan going forward, with which I was completely in agreement. Dr Sandra is a brilliant Vet, a devoted mentor and a wonderful example of compassion and expertise for her more recently graduated colleagues. This is why I continue to travel quite a significant distance to Summer Hill Village Vets.

Recently, she has been going through old-age cat problems - which has been a huge mixture of stress, fear and uncontrollable crying.. The Vets, Vet Nurses and Staff have been absolutely incredible. They have accommodated our every need, including giving advice over the phone during our almost daily calls, listening to our concerns and making time in their schedule for same-day-last-minute appointments and have worked so hard to manage her pain and maintain her quality of life. Though what is happening is a natural part of life, it never gets easier experiencing it happen in real-time. Having the team at SH Village Vet hold our hands, and support us through everything that's happening. They have made us feel more calm and safe in the knowledge that once the time comes, there will be no regrets, thoughts of 'what if' or unnecessary pain. Thank you to everyone at this clinic. We won't be going anywhere else if we are blessed with a future fur-baby.

Despite the short notice, they managed to fit us in and provided unwavering support throughout the entire process. Their communication was truly outstanding. I can only imagine how challenging your jobs must be, yet every staff member handled it with such grace, making me feel reassured every step of the way. From regular updates to follow-up calls once Kumo was back home, I’ve never experienced such remarkable service from a veterinary team before. Fantastic experience: Fantastic vet practice, very experienced, spot on with diagnostics, so caring, and an added bonus - they are open extended hours to cater to people who can’t access them during standard working hours. They go the extra mile to look after your pets! I have four pets, ranging from a geriatric cat to a new puppy and kitten, and a 5-year old dog diagnosed with Addison’s Disease. This practice caters to the whole spectrum of animal needs! I couldn’t recommend them higher!!

Fantastic experience: The team at Summer Hill Village Vet are amazing. Our 14 year old Cavoodle became extremely ill. When I tried to book online it was all booked out. We called reception on a Saturday morning and they booked us in at their next possible appt which was still 2 hours away. They requested photos of the illness and once they got the emailed photos, called us straight back and asked us to come in straight away. They had a vet nurse immediately give our girl an IV for fluids and take bloods ready for the vet to treat as soon as possible. They gave us coffee vouchers for the local cafe for us to have a free coffee while we waited for an update. Once they diagnosed the problem they spoke with us about the treatment, provided us the quote straight up, and then kept our girl for 5 hours after closing time so they could monitor her on her antibiotics so we didn’t need to take her to the emergency hospital vet which would have cost an arm and a leg. Sandra was incredible and such a warm and kind vet. Our beloved dog is back home and doing so much better and we are so grateful for the urgent treatment they provided at such a reasonable price. Summer Hill Vet know us when we walk in or ring for an appointment. Customer service by ALL staff is second to none. They have persevered with my dog (and me) and explored every avenue to get to the bottom of her issues. We are on the way to a happier and healthy life now. Fantastic experience: It was my first visit and under stressful circumstances (a last minute booking to see if my cat had been injured) but even still the staff here managed to make it positive. There was a lovely little shelf section for me to place my cat carrier, so she was obscured from the sight of dogs but could see outside. Staff were friendly both over the phone and in person, quick to answer my questions, and brought with them a sympathy that was greatly needed. Luckily my little darling turned out fine, but even still the advice I was given (and follow up email with all talking points listed in the session!) Was very much appreciated. Walked in with a heap of stress, walked out with a happy cat and the feeling that I had made the right choice in picking here as my vet

Negative experience: If you're looking for a vet that will drain your wallet before actually helping your pet, look no further! I brought my dog here for a simple minor surgery, but before they would even consider it, they insisted on running a ridiculous amount of tests, racking up a $2,300 bill—only to tell me that the surgery couldn’t be done because my dog had high blood pressure. Instead, I was sent home with medication and a lighter bank account. Out of frustration, I took my dog to a vet in Blacktown, where the doctor told me that high blood pressure doesn’t even prevent this type of surgery. They performed the procedure without any unnecessary drama, and guess what? It only cost $1,200—less than half of what I paid here for absolutely nothing. So, if you enjoy overpaying for tests you don’t need and leaving without the treatment your pet actually requires, this place is perfect for you. Otherwise, I’d suggest going somewhere that actually prioritizes your pet’s well-being over their profit margin.

Fantastic experience: The locum vet was great today. Did not feel pressured as usual re desexing. Given prices upfront and explained all Vaxes given. Helpful suggestions re weight loss for Evie and additional vaxes recommended re rat issue in inner west. She was very thorough and efficient. Had a great rapport with Evie and was easy to chat to. Would be happy to see her again.

Fantastic experience: I didn't actually end up visiting these guys as I had scheduled an appointment for my pet turtle. The team got back to me early in the morning to advise that they didn't want me to waste my money as it wasn't their specialty and then promptly recommended me a few other options. Really appreciate the customer service and if this is the level of honesty they display then I feel you can definitely trust your pet with them!

Negative experience: Please count as lucky there is no option for 0 star. I take my cat today to this hospital for clean the wounds made by other cats. I booked appointments when I drop off my cat and pick up, but every time wait more than 40mins. If you really busy like that consider not accept that more appointments. After drop off my cats for treatments, I called about 2 calls try to get update from them, but every time need wait more than 30mins til they call back, there is no one know the situation of my cat. If this is the tradition of your hospital, I must say so special. When I’m picking up, the doctor didn’t tell me there have more wounds which I don’t know and no one ever tell me. They didn’t show me the cat they just said “you will know when you see him”. So I thought it was made by sedation, I’m pissed off and take to another vet check again. That’s really weird, I heard the complete explanation or better define as guess from another vet who didn’t treat my cat. Maybe the way I think of this hospital is bias and mean, but as a pet owner, as a patient, as a non professional doctor, I don’t know that much than professional veterinary hospital. Explain the whole situation and whole process you did to my cat is your responsibility. Also when I call back to ask why my cat looks like that after I already have him at home, the reception said will call me back let the doctor explain but I didn’t receive anything, no calls no messages no emails. That’s what you treat patients who paid. Btw, I have to say, I have been to so many veterinary hospital in Sydney include dental specialist, emergency and normal veterinary. Except overnight care at emergency, NO ONE ask for“Hospital Ward Fee Cat”. Will the normal consultation be the same price as Urgent consultation? If No please explain why I called to book regular appointment in weekday charge me the Urgent fee?

Fantastic experience: Lovely Vet Sandra and super tick/bee stinger sleuth vet nurse Steph along with the ever helpful reception team were so wonderful at checking over my little rescue boy, Pino, urgently y’day when he suddenly started limping (hopping) and I found a new black lump I thought was a tick. They rushed us through quickly as I was worried tick paralysis had set in. Such a relief to find out the tick was actually a new mole (sample taken to check) and my little guy had a huge bee or wasp stinger in his leg that Steph actually found (!!) and was able to remove. Pino’s sister Maisy came along for the emergency ride and was lucky enough to get a complimentary and much needed “Brazilian” whilst waiting!! All staff are so helpful, warm and kind. I’m a new client (recently moved back to Sydney from the country) and after a few false starts with other Sydney vets I wasn’t happy with, we are so happy to have found and be welcomed into the Summer Hill Village Vet family. My two cats are rescues and one of them in particular HATES the vet - the amount of times I’ve had to cancel last minute bc I couldn’t get her there and they’ve always understood. My cat Sebastian had to have all his teeth out earlier this year and the care he received was exemplary and equally wonderful each time I’ve gone, whether it’s for a check up or something more concerning. When I have managed to get Pepper there, the staff have been so patient and sweet and taken so much extra care for her sickness and fear. So grateful to have such an amazing practice with such wonderful people so close by. Thank you!
