Fantastic experience: Staff at Sylvania Vet go out of their way to accommodate our nervous rescue Poppy and we are so grateful. Poppy is fearful of strangers and won’t allow being touched so going to the vet is a real challenge. All the staff are understanding of her situation and show love and understanding, finding ways to work within her boundaries. She gets VIP treatment every time and it means so much to us. Thank you

Fantastic experience: Our beautiful boy Gilbert had the ‘snip’ last week. He received 10/10 service, such warm, welcoming and friendly staff. 7 days post op he is making a superb recovery. They checked him over at 3 days post op and we go back on day 10. Very thorough, honest and excellent service. Thank you so much!

Fantastic experience: Fanta has been going to Sylvania Veterinary Hospital since he was a a few months old and the staff have been very friendly and kind to Fanta and myself, I could not recommend more for pets.

Fantastic experience: Our dog Nellie loves coming to Sylvania Vet which makes life a whole lot easier!! They’re very thorough, explain things in layman’s terms and have empathy that’s sometimes needed. Our cat Linkin was euthanised here a few years ago and his passing was handled with great care. I have every confidence in their advice and treatment.

Negative experience: Disappointed as I was booked to have an 8am appointment with vet and then my dog Mac ( after being fasted from 12 midnight) to have anaesthetic and coat / nails trim, ear check and abdo lump check etc. I arrived to be told that this was not the case and that I would never have been told this would happen! This is incorrect and was definately what I was told when I called to check appointment time on the week before and to confirm the day before. I will agree that there was a misunderstanding but was not mine . Christine Knox (MacTavish )

Fantastic experience: My naughty 7 year old staffy x doesn’t get along with other dogs so a trip to the vet is always very stressful but the staff at Sylvania vet are so caring and accomodating - they’re happy to meet you outside or even do the consultation in your car (if practical, of course) . They are so thorough and knowledgeable. I know my dog is in the best hands and receiving the best care when he’s there. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Little Luna had to attend Sylvania vet yesterday due to a very sore eye. The doctor was so very busy and although didn't have a scheduled appointment, and the doctor was about to start an operation in a few minutes, she still made time to attend to Luna. She was so caring and very thourough in her investigation into Lunas Eye condition. I cant thank you enough for the care and compassion you showed to my Luna! Absolutely the best vet, hands down!

Fantastic experience: Super kind. Got a great Puppy deal for all his vaccines + a lot of other extras for under $500. Included all vaccines + worming and tick treatment for up to 6 months. Very good vet!

Fantastic experience: Thank you for the reply I will keep an eye out on Sabrina in case she sleeps to much I will give the vet a call maybe can reduce the medication by half tablet in the morning and half a tablet in the afternoon

Fantastic experience: My dog finds the vet experience very nerve wracking but the staff here do a wonderful job of ensuring a smooth and stress free process and make the effort to meet the needs where they are at. The vets are also very thorough and don’t dismiss any concerns. Truely very caring. Admin staff are also very understanding, friendly when handling appointments or issues :)

Fantastic experience: We visited Sylvania Hospital with our little Chihuahua puppy, Percy for his first check-up and we wouldn’t trust our little fur baby’s care to anyone else. Their care, dedication, patience and their genuinely friendly smiles are still as warm and as welcoming as they always have been. Sylvania Veterinary Hospital looked after our little Poodle Perry and now after our little Percy. And what was so touching was that even 13 months later, our little Perry was still remembered by them. We had the pleasure of being seen to by Dr. Natalie who was absolutely incredible! Natalie was very gentle and patient and Percy (first visit) was relaxed and at ease. Natalie was very patient with both Percy and with us and answered all our questions with patience and so much care. She was very knowledgeable, explained everything to us and we couldn’t be happier with Dr. Natalie and with Sylvania Vet Hospital and all of their staff. We would as highly as we possibly can recommend Sylvania Veterinary Hospital for their truly wonderful service, their care, patience, knowledge and commitment to looking after our pets and all their needs as well as looking after us humans too. Positive experience: Hello and thanks so much for what I’d explain as an extremely stressful 20 mins of my life since having the privelage of owning my amazing Beagle, Marli. I was extremely manic and in a state upon arrival, not only as I thought Marli had been bitten by some kind of extremely aggressive insect in the bush park section of Todd Park, Blakehurst. Combined with the unfortunate incident whilst waiting at the lights past your surgery on Box Road, my car was involved in a fail to stop accident through know fault of my own as I was stationery for minutes prior to being swiped by a medium sized truck and its mirror, with the driver failing to stop. By the time I reached the surgery I was in an extremely triggering place. The young ladies on front desk and vet nurse were amazing with their empathy, compassion and care for not the most important part Marli the beagle, but for me. To ensure all was fine as Marli had calmed down significantly whilst in the foyer of the vets the amazing Nurse asked if it would be ok for her to take Marli out the back to ensure she was okay. I was in a deeper panic mode after several minutes as they hadn’t returned and was informed that one of the vets had to assist where the team removed a wooden skewer app 75mm in length from the roof of Marlis mouth. It appears that the beagle had found a chicken stick skewer, obviously ate the tiny bit of chicken, skewer and all and somehow this skewer got lodged in her upper teething bridge. An amazing investigation by the team and to remove the said skewer. Thanks so much. Only shock (and understandable as it’s a business, was the explanation of the extraordinary fee for the service). Including as I was explained an additional emergency fee payment. I attempted to call on route re how busy the surgery was and was unfortunately disconnected prior to finding out their availability. The time being app 1:30pm and extremely lucky as there was no one in the waiting area, yet I’m certain many things were occurring in the treatment rooms. Anyway that was the only negative I guess and perhaps the call being terminated (which was no body’s fault) which may have resulted in an appointment being made, without the emergency surcharges being added on. Yet I do not know standard polices for these types of fees, however as stated extremely expensive, yet more than likely justified. Thanks again and beagle back to being beagle. Fantastic experience: We have been bringing our dogs Dias and Hera to Sylvania Veterinary Hospital since they were puppies and now 12 years later still provide exemplary care. The team are very accommodating to busy schedules and the vets very assuring and make you feel at ease, especially now going into our older pup years.

Fantastic experience: We took our dog (cavoodle) to Sylvania heights vet for puppy pre school and recently for him to be desexed. The entire team, both nurses and vets are extremely friendly and have a great knowledge of all things pet related. You can see just how much they love animals also. Our dog is always happy when he goes there for a visit or check up. Me and the mutt highly recommend Sylvania Heights Vet.

Fantastic experience: My 13 year old lovebird needs to have his e-collar changed each year. It’s a permanent collar. It’s tricky as he’s so little and fragile and likes to nip our fingers when we try to do it. Nurse Alex was very patient with him and super kind and encouraging. Between the two of us we managed to do it, and neither of us lost a finger

Negative experience: Please stay clear of this place. Over priced and greedy. They wonder why animals go in pain because their prices are ridiculous , not even taren point hospital on parraweena road charge the amount this hospital does. I have been to Benny and the pets , Connells point veterinary and taren point veterinary hospital 24/7 for my animals and have never been charged the amount they have charged. My French bull dog gets a Antihistamine shot every 4 weeks, I just moved to Sylvania which is 4 minute walk from this hospital and my dog needed an antihistamine shot so I booked her in. they charged me $321 ($190 for antihistamine shot & $121 for a consultation! ) I’m in absolute shock! I have only ever paid $60 for an antihistamine shot ( not a vaccine!) and $95 for a consultation. When question she replied “these are our prices” ok well I will take my animals else well. Please ask about pricing before taking your animals in. I did not expect $321 for just an “antihistamine shot.”

Fantastic experience: My experience at Sylvania Veterinary Clinic was AMAZING! Dr. Maria was very patient and explained every detail of what happen to my dog. She gave me treatment options and lots of tips to keep her healthy. I loved her customer service; she was very kind to my dog, even though she has anxiety and was licking her all the time. It's hard to find a vet who truly cares, and I finally found her. And the ladies at the front desk were excellent! They were so helpful and super nice to me and Octavia. Thank you so much!

Fantastic experience: Shout out to the puppy pre school course at SVH. Maddie and Amber are extremely knowledgeable, friendly and patient. They created a fun, safe environment for the pups. We have noticed such a positive change in our puppy’s behaviour and confidence. Highly recommend to any new dog owners!

Fantastic experience: We want to share our heartfelt gratitude for Dr. Chloe, a truly kind, loving, and dedicated veterinarian in Silvania. She always gives her best for her furry patients. Our cat, Carlos, had a serious injury—a fractured palate—and thanks to her skilled and gentle hands, he was operated on and stitched up with so much care. Even though he's still a bit fragile, Carlos is happy and, most importantly, breathing much better now. Dr. Chloe took the time to explain everything to us and shared all the research she did to ensure the surgery would be successful. We felt supported and informed throughout the whole process. Thank you, Chloe, for choosing such a beautiful profession and for practicing it with so much love. We're so grateful for everything you’ve done for Carlos.

Negative experience: Did not have a good experience with this vet. My dog had a tumour removed as recommended and had scans done also etc etc.expensive but thought i was in good hands. The wound was a big one on his leg which is a tricky place which is understood. The external wound was glued which started to open-up the day after. Took him back and the wound was stapled like a bit of furniture. 2 days after his wound tore through the staples and opened up and had to rush him to emergency at another vet where I had to pay again for them to stitch him up properly. My dog went through hell. I asked the manager to call me but didn’t hear back from her….i had to chase her. Won’t be going back!

Fantastic experience: I recently had the pleasure of bringing my little puppy Buddy, to this wonderful veterinary clinic, and I couldn't be more pleased with the care he received. They greeted Buddy with warmth and kindness, instantly putting him at ease. Dr. Maria Ghobrial was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to address all of my concerns, ensuring that Buddy received the best possible care Buddy's visit was not only stress-free but also enjoyable. I'm so grateful to have found such a caring veterinary clinic, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for top-notch care for their furry friends.

Negative experience: Sylvania Vet booked my elderly cat in for boarding from Saturday March 9 to Saturday March 16, 2024. Imagine my reaction when I took him there in March 9 to find no sign of life at the vet. I phoned thinking there may have been someone inside who would have come out to greet me and take my cat in for his ‘holiday’. The recorded message included the hours which said they were open on Saturdays. On checking the website I discovered they weren’t open on weekends any more. It would have been excellent if someone bothered to let me know and I would have adjusted the boarding days. But no, nothing… So I was in a terrible dilemma. After phoning 3 local vets I was able to book him into another local vet for boarding at extremely short notice . When I returned home I went back to Sylvania Vet to find answers as to why nobody bothered to contact me and all I received from the person at the front desk was a lame ‘Sorry about that, do you want a credit?’ I asked to speak to a manager and was told ‘The manager is in a meeting at the moment’ (Ahem.. of course.. ) Needless to say I said no credit and after taking my cats there for at least 20 years I won’t be back. Not the first time I have been there to get my cat from boarding to find a note on the front door they were closed for a ‘staff meeting’ … I have no idea what happened with this vet over the past year but they are nothing like they used to be which was professional and caring. If I could give less than 1 star I would.

Fantastic experience: Like most who have made the difficult decision to take your pet to the vet for the last time, you can never really be ready for the impact going home alone will have. The staff at Sylvania Veterinary Hospital made it as easy as possible from the first call, the visit, the procedure and now days later have helped us close the chapter. Their care and empathy towards our pets and us is first class. I would never take a pet anywhere else.

Positive experience: Very competent and genuinely caring, IMO. For whatever good (usually emergency) reason they do seem to overrun and that's based on a few visits over the years. It's best to allow for a good extra 30 minutes. Parking has always been easy.

Fantastic experience: We went to Sylvania veterinary hospital last Thursday to adopt a kitten. We receieved the best service by the very friendly and helpful staff. Vanessa told us all the things we needed to know and was very helpful. Our new little kitten is a real delight to all of us and is so good.

Fantastic experience: Sylvania Vet especially Vicki is excellent my Cat mandy was so i’ll from being at another vets in same area who went for a haircut they kept her six hours and charged me a very high price after picking Mandy up she was so i’ll for two to three days no food water she just couldn’t stop fitting like shaking which still has not stopped thanks to Sylvania Vets she will be seeing them in future. Vet took photos of that male cat photo 3 and if you note her long Mane and neck were to stay.He said oh definitely but WHAT DID HAPPEN TO HER AND WHY IS HER NECK ALL CROOKED. I’m seeking a refund and i am complaining to Fair Trading my cat has almost died because the Vet ignored my telling him she’s very sensitive to chemicals etc and only to use happy gas with felieway
