Fantastic experience: Dr Emma is amazing! She takes time to explain things and is truly helpful and very knowledgeable! All the vet nurses and the ladies at reception are also super friendly and helpful. I wouldn’t go anywhere else! 100 stars!

Fantastic experience: Dr Mel is a great vet. We see her with both our dog and cat and she is always so thorough and friendly. When we had a sick puppy, she squeezed us in so that we didn’t have to wait. Receptionists are very friendly also. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: Not happy about my 2nd and last visit for our puppy. Cos the recent doctors seems to not really care about our concerns and really unprofessional talking to them on the phone saying in the background "oh my G—" thinking I can't hear them. I'm concerned about my puppy's health since I believe she didn't get her proper 2nd and 3rd Vaccination cos she got injected an adult vaccine rather than for a puppy. This place has been recommended to me 3yrs ago by our community and told me to ask for Dr. Elaine since I was looking for a PASSIONATE VET and NOT A MONEY GRABBER ONES. Started to think i should change our dogs and pup's vet since I seems to can't get Dr. Elaine anymore but only the 1st time we saw her cos she was really listening to our concerns and as a fur mum our dogs r technically our children and whoever don't give the passion to look after them they don't really deserve to look after other people's animals I reckon.

Fantastic experience: The staff at Kings Rd vet are fantastic I did not post a negative review??? Must have been Google! We have been going to Kings Rd vet for quite a few years now and are extremely happy with there quality of service

Negative experience: I was spoken to disrespectfully by a senior vet nurse who was repeating questions at me, raising her voice from behind the counter from her chair, over the top of crying dogs, in front of another client that was sitting in between, while I was trying to comfort an anxious dog. The questions she had about payment had been answered clearly on the phone and in person (I had already repeated answers at that point) when standing beside her, but she kept going and when I said “leave me alone you can stop now” she decided to engage further and just kept going at me. It was disgusting. Then, I was charged a $78 fee for a follow up on an issue that had occurred just three weeks before that their clinic treated - in all of my life, vets have never charged for a similarly related follow up. Further, I was never told on the phone that the dog could have just been booked in with a nurse for the procedure that the vet did - essentially they booked the dog in a for a high fee charge follow up when she could have been treated for $50 or so, rather than $128. And they didn’t check in generally about the dog’s problem e.g. on dietary issues that could be related to the dog’s problem. They weren’t very thorough in checking her over. When I addressed the vet nurses behaviour with the vet they said “it’s hard for us “, I replied with “no, this was disrespectful”. There was no offer to speak to the practice manager. The only nice part of the interaction was the other younger person on the desk who took my feedback and said they would pass it to the practice manager. No one has bothered to follow up with me though. I’ve spent a lot of time working side by side with vets and I wasn’t impressed with how the staff made me feel, or how they managed the dog.

Fantastic experience: Dr Katie was amazing with our dog Tui who loves going to the vet but becomes very skittish and suspicious once syringes appear. Dr Katie was very patient and showered Tui with a generous amount of liver treats and peanut butter to earn her trust. By the end of the appointment all vaccinations had been administered with minimal distress and the dog was very happily accepting belly rubs.

Fantastic experience: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Exceptional care and compassion from Dr. Mel and the Kings Road Vets team! Dr. Mel and her amazing team went above and beyond looking after our girl Biscuit during her surgery. From the first consultation to the aftercare, their kindness, professionalism, and genuine love for animals really shone through. We felt completely reassured knowing she was in such capable and caring hands. Biscuit is recovering beautifully thanks to their dedication and expertise. We’re so grateful for everything they’ve done — highly recommend Kings Road Vets to anyone wanting the very best care for their pets!

Fantastic experience: Kings roads vets and it's staff genuinely care about the wellbeing and quality of life of its Pet patients! My dog has been here multiple times for quite intense operations and mel and the team make it as smooth as possible for me and my doggo. Very generous pricing and very educated nurses! 100% would recommend for your loved pets I kinda wish they took human patients aswell. I would definitely go there for my "checks up"

Negative experience: My rating is 2 due to a number of reasons. On 5 August I booked an appointment for my ill cat and on the day of the appointment I had to reschedule. only to be told they didn't have my booking and seemed quite unperturbed that it hadn't been placed in their booking system. I confirmed the date of the booking as the call was still date/time stamped in my phone log but again, the attitude seemed uncaring. I than rebooked for a week later. At the rescheduled consult, the vet was helpful and left me hopeful my cat would be better quickly. Unfortunately that isn't the case however, veterinary science is imprecise. On returning to the clinic later that day to pay for and pick up my cat is when the real trouble began. Initially, the receptionist was helpful when I said I wanted to pay the bill. However, the amount she stated and the price the vet had quoted were different and when I brought this to her attention she simply repeated herself. I than asked why there would be a difference in the amounts only to be told that's what it is. At this point, another staff member intervened stating there were various reasons; medications changing, the amount of time my cat stayed in the clinic etc, to which I pointed out neither of these changes occurred. She then went on to say the vet hadn't provided a quote merely an estimate to which I responded 'the vet was quite certain and deliberate when quoting the prices' so I was confident I'd received a quote. I was then informed I would be charged the original amount I was quoted, however the next time I booked my cat for an appointment I would be referred to a different veterinarian clinic, and she promptly strutted away to back of house. When I asked the original staff member if I could speak with the Practice Manager as I believed the attitude I'd been subjected to was unprofessional, rude and extremely poor customer service, I was subsequently advised that that was the practice manager. I then requested the email address of the Vet who owns the clinic so I could liaise directly with him/her regarding my unfortunate experiences only to be told 'he isn't available'. I then asked when would he be free, to be told 'next week'. I than asked which day next week and the reluctant response was 'Monday'. I was handed a business card and was told to email reception and they'd pass it on (I doubted that statement). Once I'd paid and had been standing waiting for a short while I asked if my cat would be brought to me and the response was 'someone will be getting her'. I subsequently waited and was eventually spoken to by another staff member who I assumed was a vet nurse as there was no introduction, who informed me my cat will be with me soon. I promptly asked what medication had been recommended for her as I'd forgotten. The nurse asked if I'd spoken to "Mel" to which I replied 'who's Mel'? I then repeated my question with a suggestion that my cat's electronic record be checked as I'm sure the information would be there. The nurse requested the first reception staff to check the computer log, and she refused to assist and stormed off. None of the staff who witnessed any of the behaviour appeared surprised by their colleagues unprofessional demeanour even though this all unfolded in front of customers in the waiting area and furthermore, no one apologised for the rudeness and substandard customer service. I have friends and acquaintances who have stopped using this clinic due to similar experiences and I can now understand why.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Chris and his team are sensational. I cannot thank them enough. I have a senior dog who had a large lump that was weeping. Two other vets wanted to biopsy the lump and decide from there whether to remove it. I didn't want to put my dog under anaesthesia twice because he doesn't cope well afterwards. Dr. Chris admitted my dog for surgery at short notice, biopsied and removed the lump in one procedure. My dog is alive today because of Dr. Chris. He and Dr. Elanie genuinely care about the animals they treat, and their owners. I am forever grateful for the care received at Kings Road Vet and highly recommend them. Edited to add that the vet nurses and admin staff are absolute gems too, and go above and beyond for patients.

On Saturday we woke to one very sick lamb on the verge of death, with a distraught wife we went to the closest vet to our farm due to the severity and need for immediate attention. We were quickly told they were unable to help. The wife rang King's Rd Surgery as we were driving and told to come straight in. When we got there we were raced straight in and that's when Dr Chris and the team went to work. Their amazing kindness, treatment and level of experience brought Barbie back from the brink of death. They did everything to save her, their concern at all times was for her comfort and well being. Fantastic experience: I wouldn’t take my two girls anywhere else! The level of care and empathy shown by the whole team is second to none. I know that the advice that I am given is based on the welfare of my two mini dachshunds and not based on revenue (can’t be said for another practice in town). We wouldn’t even consider going anywhere else.
