Fantastic experience: I recently visited Western Suburbs Vet and had such a positive experience. The team were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and they made both me and my fur babies — Roxy, Brutus, and Rusty — feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. I’m especially grateful for the support they provided with our 12 puppies. Managing a litter can be overwhelming, but the staff were amazing in helping with their worming and vaccinations. They were organised, gentle, and handled each puppy with such care and patience, which really put my mind at ease. The veterinarians were knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything clearly, making sure I understood the process and what to expect. Nothing felt rushed, and all my questions were answered thoroughly. The clinic itself was clean, well-organised, and ran efficiently. It’s clear the team genuinely cares about the animals they treat and the people who bring them in. I highly recommend Western Suburbs Vet to anyone looking for compassionate, professional, and reliable care. Thank you for looking after Roxy, Brutus, Rusty, and our beautiful puppies so well!

Negative experience: Booked both my dogs in but when I arrived the nurse had only booked one in and the different nurse that served me was so rude it was disgusting as she said I had only booked one dog in. I had been a customer at this vet with all my animals for over 15 years prior to moving away for 2 years and coming back and never been treated like this before. When the vet saw me she too was angry due to the nurse relaying whatever she said to her. I had all the documents from the vet we had seen from the last 2 but were still treated like bad pet owners saying yous haven’t been here for a long time. We walked out and will be using another vet in future very disappointed.

I was so worried about him this morning because he’s been unwell and they eased my mind and gave me something to assist him and see how he goes but they were wonderful at getting me in on an emergency day and the price was not as much as I was expecting. Negative experience: Had brought my cat in cause she had an infection and the lady was really rough she opened her wounds further now is 1cm bigger then what it was when we brought her in. Now they want me to pay for surgery which is About $500 + Do not go here

Negative experience: What a heartless unwelcoming place this is. I was running 10 minutes late because I had been up for nearly 5 days now with a new born baby and got lost on the way. My kitten only needed their final set of needles and they told me sorry but u will have to come back on the weekend or some time next week. Understandable if it was a full-on appointment, but we just needed a needle and we would be out of there, not even a 2 minute thing.

Fantastic experience: I called reception to find out about tick prevention for my 3 dogs. When I arrived to pick it up, it had been packaged and ready to go. I have been a customer over the years and have always found the service and care to be outstanding. Thank you

Fantastic experience: Best veterinary clinic in Townsville. I have been taking many cats, due to various circumstances, to this clinic since 1996. Their brilliant caring and help in understanding the issues have always been the best for my precious furry friends. I should add that their fees are very reasonable on all levels for the very exceptional care and understanding they provide on all occassions, and beyond the normal for some difficult situations. I did visit another veterinary clinic briefly due to circumstances, but it didn't compare at all, so I went back to the best veterinary clinic in Townsville, even if I had to travel further.

Negative experience: After my son spent thousands of dollars at this vet to keep his beloved dog alive they failed to contact him for 14 days when his ashes had been delivered and they made sure his dog wasn't home for Christmas like his request. If you love your animal please don't send them here.

Fantastic experience: My dog Scampy needed a fairly serious operation in his rear, 2 times in fact, the Male surgeon was fantastic and even dropped the price on the second surgery as it was easier the 2nd time round but he knew it was becoming costly for me, he saved my dogs life, the staff are all lovely and i would highly recommend these guys.

Both Dr. Ed and Dr Alistair spent a long time performing an extremely difficult procedure. Their care and expertise, we believe didn't just save our older fur baby's life, but ensured no permanent damage occurred during a difficult operation.
