Fantastic experience: Literally the best vet in Townsville I have been using Hammett Street with Max and his team for my last four dogs and almost 16 years they have now and always go above and beyond. No matter how short staffed they are or whatever other emergencies they are dealing with they will do their very best to accommodate you however they can. if you are using another vet you are using the wrong vet.

Fantastic experience: We have been visiting Max for many, many years!!! The whole vet surgery crew are so friendly, empathetic and knowledgeable. They have looked after 8 of our dogs and all of our Guinea pigs. They have sent the most beautiful cards and cried with us on the passing of our furry children. They have also happily checked over multiple animals at once and catered for my kids & animals in the treatment room, without fuss, across the years! Max has sat and cuddled each of our animals. So calm and never fazed at my pug goggle eyeing the fish, whilst my dashie demands a belly scratch and my shepherd surveys and checks the perimeter of the treatment room, ending in a relaxing belly scratch of his own! My dogs love going to Hammet St!

Fantastic experience: Excellent vet clinic, attentive and flexible. I have birds and not many vet clinics know what to do with them!! Even when there's no avian specialist here, my birds still get great and knowledgeable care here. Hammett St seem to train all their vets in avian emergency care, which is wonderful and very rare! Also quite reasonably priced which is a big plus! :)

Negative experience: 4months my big girl (dog) had a scare of her cancer came back took her in to get checked out it was apparently just fatty tissue no more test were done fast forward to today as she wasn’t eating or poo for 3/4 days just thinking she was clogged up asked for an emergency spot can’t help I plead as that’s the only vets my girl sees got judged because i wanted not only them but i couldn’t afford it but could pay most and do a payment plan as I know they do. It turn out my girl had to go to heaven by jcu as the cancer was all along her intestine that was missed as I’m pretty sure they didn’t do a full look as they know she’s prone to cancer. Spent $1600 12 months ago

Positive experience: I was recommended by a close friend who has been a client of this Vet and raved about them so with a couple of dogs we decided to try them and we won't be going back to the old vets , great service , awesome staff , and great pricing which was the kicker ,

Negative experience: Miss Diagnosed our 2 beautiful dogs, instead of doing tests all they could do was shove tablets down there throat. Missed cancer growing in both our dogs, glad we changed to a new clinic but unfortunately to late to save our beautiful boys. If you want to keep your beautiful animals alive, i suggest going elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: Took our 18 year old cat in yesterday to be put to sleep. It was the hardest thing to do but staff were amazing. Were taken into a small room with a nice mat on table for her, Candle, diffuser, and white noise. They even gave her a bowl of cream with sprinkles. Everyone was so compassionate and caring and I can't thank them enough and highly recommend

Fantastic experience: I just got my first puppy and am very anxious about getting everything right for her. Dr Sam answered all of my questions for about half an hour whilst making my pup (and me!) calm and comfortable. My girl loved her visit (even though she got a needle!) and Dr Sam. The receptionists and nurses were lovely too. Thankyou!

Fantastic experience: My first time using this clinic for my cat, I was very impressed! The receptionists were so lovely and welcoming, the vet was amazing with my cat and really helped put my mind at ease over her current condition Also a bonus that they accept afterpay it definitely helps get your animals the treatment they need when the unexpected occurs! I will definitely be using this vet in the future for all my cats health needs

Fantastic experience: We have been with the beautiful Hammett Street Vets for over 20 years and had to euthanise our beautiful cocker spaniel Chloe unexpectedly and the staff went above and beyond all expectations. I had to bring my son for support and he'd never been through it before. From first entering the front door we were kindly met by Amber and taken into a private room and Chloe was given icecream and sprinkles, we had everything explained to us with compassion and heartfelt sorrow from Dr Rebekah. We were given all the time we needed and then you even gave a her pawprints and a lock of our precious girls hair! Thank you for giving us such a beautiful experience in such a terrible situation. Your care is exceptional of our pets, but also of their owners. 5 stars are just never enough for this incredible business, thank you so much

Fantastic experience: This has been my Vets for the last 13 years Yesterday I had to Euthanise my beautiful boy Bluey My Bluey had Ice Cream and Chocolate cake and sprinkles for him to take in his trip the the other side I want to say Thank you to all the Staff from the Vet all the way down to the reception staff for there Empathy but also there professionalism Dr Rebekah told me what would happen and the process and the speed it would happen The Staff didn’t rush us they were happy for us to take the time I want to Thank Max for coming and seeing me to tell me that I was doing the right thing otherwise my Bluey would start suffering My Bluey had Cancer that grew to the size of a very large Mango in the space of 4 weeks I would recommend Hammett Street Vets to anyone that is looking for people that care for there pets as if they were there own

Fantastic experience: I went 2 hammett st vets to have my boy put down, as he was getting old n frail, I didn't wan2, but I knew I was being selfish as he was in pain..I sat with him in the room where they were going 2 put him 2 sleep it was heart wrenching, the vet explained everything b4 it was done, when she looked up at me n said his heart has stopped it killed me inside but I knew he was going to a better place... the staff were so caring and let me have a bit of time with him b4 they took him away....a week later I received a curtosisy card that had his tag off his collar paw prints, and a clip seal bag with some of his hair and the most beautiful words ever on the card I love this vet they are so caring and anyone who needs a vet please use these guys u will not be disappointed..

Very comforting for our anxious dog and big waiting area that you aren't right ontop of another pet too. We all love going to the vet when we have to or for vaccinations.
