Fantastic experience: The best vets I've ever had for my birds! Used to have to drive to Melbourne for their appointments. Both Dr. Gen and Dr. Hugh were AMAZING! All the staff I've met are so nice and professional. The waiting area and the clinic rooms are clean Also VERY reasonably priced! Had a semi emergency appointment past night for a galah and I was fully expecting $200-250 but the appointment only cost $129!

Fantastic experience: Honestly cannot recommend this vet any higher after months of calling all around geelong to find a vet that would even consider taking in our blue and gold macaw bannockburn vet did not hesitate to see her when we arrived all the staff were amazing especially our vet she was amazing with nala and we were in and out within 20 minutes definitely the best vet in the geelong region!

Fantastic experience: Both dogs attended for vaccinations and were really well looked after. Not only did they get their vax's done with vax certificates but Dr Kylie gave them each a good check over before hand as well and all at a great price, thank you.

Negative experience: Took our cria Eve (baby alpaca-8 months) into the clinic since she had a twist in her front legs (rickets) the vet got her the vitamin D E and K and said she should be good and outgrow it. However, he also prescribed her a dosage of an injection of Meloxicam - once a day for 4 days as an anti inflammatory with the pain she might’ve been experiencing. We gave our alpaca Evie her day 2 injection and a minute after she started having a seizure, crying, and collapsed. Shortly after she passed away. We were distraught and still are traumatized from this. We knew right away it had to be that injection, turns out there’s many side effects of Meloxicam and it could’ve been an overdose. However, I don’t blame the vet. He apologized on the phone and said Evie must’ve had a reaction to this injection. I know he tried his best and of course was just trying to help our little bub out of her leg pain. I’m not here to shame our vet, he was so lovely and helpful in the past with her. Accidents happen and every animal is different just like humans. However, I’m overall disappointed with the clinic since I called to explain what happened and if they can give us a complimentary cremation of Evie given the circumstances. Supposedly the head vet of the clinic or manager said no. I understand no one is liable and no one could’ve known Evie wouldve had this reaction to this injection but we lost our pet who we loved who was only 8 months old. We weren’t expecting this no one was, we pay a lot for vets and their love and care. The least the clinic could’ve done is a cremation for her. And on the phone I didn’t even get upset with the doctor or clinic. I was kind despite all the sadness and anger of this experience. I just thought they would’ve done better given she’s passed away. Money is not the priority, our animals are first and her life cannot be replaced. I will be not be returning now and hope to find more of a holistic veterinary clinic in the future.

Fantastic experience: It’s been a month now since we said goodbye to our little girl, Tinky. I’ve been meaning to write this for a while, but only just found the strength to do so. Quite suddenly, our girl took a turn for the worse. We brought her into the clinic on a Wednesday—blood tests and an ultrasound revealed that Tinkerbell was bleeding internally. Everything was done swiftly, professionally, and with such deep sympathy. I’ll never forget how beautifully they treated my little Tinky during those moments. Alana spoke to her so softly and comfortingly while the blood was being drawn. It meant the world to me. They truly treat your pets with the utmost respect and do everything they can for our furbabies. Tinky was given only a few days left to live. Dr. Kylie showed incredible empathy and compassion as she helped my family say goodbye to our 15-year-old Border Collie, Tinkerbell, after nearly a year-long fight with bladder cancer. Saying goodbye is never easy, but the fact I wasn't rushed to say goodbye to my bestfriend that I'd had since I was 7 meant everything to me. She had a beautiful ending surrounded by family and the people that loved her. The clinic later sent us a heartfelt sympathy card that brought us all to tears. It was such a thoughtful gesture. If I ever welcome another pet into my life, they will absolutely come here. The staff are the best—compassionate, dedicated, and full of love for what they do. Thank you to Dr. Kylie, Dr. Peter and the rest of the beautiful team at the Bannockburn Veterinary Clinic for looking after our Tinky for 15 wonderful years.

Fantastic experience: What an incredible team! Thorough, experienced and accommodative. Not much else you could want or expect from a vet. I had a guinea pig in which I thought was going to involve a quality of life discussion. Not only did they book me in as soon as possible, it was discovered that the issue was a urethral stone. I was asked to come back in an hour, and my guinea had been operated on and was recovering when I came back! My 6 year old guinea pig now lives to see plenty of hay days in the sunshine. I'm beyond impressed by the care, immediacy and experience of this clinic and would make the drive from Geelong again without hesitation. Vet was also extremely well priced for everything that was done. Cannot recommend enough!

Managed for sometime however today was decision day and the 4 of us managed it with a smile a kiss and a tear. Would recommend this lovely lady get and this practice to anyone. Kylie has always been so caring understanding and always put my dogs first and knowing what was best for them. I had to make the hardest decision for my recent doggy that passed and Kylie was there with me very compassionate and empathetic until her last breath thankyou for being there

Our last dog passed away last week and they sent us a sympathy card in the mail which was very thoughtful and meaningful. Fantastic experience: I came to this vet via Wagging Tails using this clinic and I found their service and their flexibility with fitting me in at short notice excellent. I wish to personally thank Dr Hugh for taking my phone calls more than once outside of appointments to offer his opinion and help council me through making the difficult decision regarding euthanising my beloved dog. He allowed me to feel comforted and reassured with this terrible decision.

Fantastic experience: The biggest thankyou from the bottom of my heart. They saved my rabbit Peter's life.After fracturing a tooth he was having trouble eating without pain and was losing weight he needed to have his teeth removed and I rang Bannockburn vet and found that Kylie had done this procedure before and had success. Treating rabbits is not straight forward but all the staff at Bannockburn vet went out of there way to make sure his surgery was as successful as could be. The morning after surgery he figured out how to eat by himself and hasn't looked back.

Fantastic experience: Cannot fault the team. They are amazing & commassionate with all creatures large or small. Puppy school there is also good as well with a fantastic trainer to help learn the ropes of puppyhood.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely spectacular service from everyone! Been bringing my bunnies here for desexing and will continue to bring them for anything else as they have proved to be wonderful. Bit of a travel for me but 100% worth it. Staff are so friendly and accommodating, communication is fantastic and their love for all animals is well noticed.

Fantastic experience: Sadly, on 3rd September 2024, we had to have our 13-year-old cat Chloe euthanized. It was time because of her ageing body quickly deteriorating. From the moment we arrived at the clinic we were treated so well. When we were there, even though sad, we were at peace in a way because Chloe looked comfortable & was even purring! Chloe had no signs of being distressed. There are no words truly, that can express our gratitude to you all, especially to Dr. Charlie Sinclaire. We have never experienced such an experience with the upmost tender loving care and attention to detail from a Vet & his team. Dr. Charlie was very compassionate, patient, explained everything and was accommodating throughout the whole process, which was such a huge support for us. Fantastic experience: These dedicated people came out to my home when no others would. Dr Charlie sat with us whilst we put our old Husky dog Indy down. Indy was 11 years old and had several issues and was clearly suffering. Dr Charlie even stayed until my daughter arrived sometime after poor Indy had passed. He was truly caring and kind. I can't recommend this Vet and clinic enough.

Fantastic experience: Took good care of my little baby.

Negative experience: Despite this clinic stating that the vet is able to complete a check up on our pet lizards, she had no idea what she was doing or talking about. The vet barely examined our lizards but had no issues for charging us for this visit. Do yourself a favour and don't waste your time and money taking anything other than typical pets here.

Fantastic experience: My work colleague recommended this vet, and we took our Sass Squash to have a dental check, clean and possible teeth extraction. She had 5 teeth removed and cared for her that day. We are forever grateful and highly recommend this vet. They also did a chest xray and found she has an enlarged heart. We have taken her to other vets and noone else suggested this (which they ignored her coughing). We have finally found our forever vet. Thank you so much.

Fantastic experience: This veterinary clinic is in my option the best in the entire region! I had only ever utilised this clinic for equine services up until my kitten was hit and severely injured by a car. We had taken him to the Geelong Emergency Vet as it was after hours. After he was taken out back and sedated, there was a very long wait, to where we where advised he had a broken leg (externally obvious from clear back end deformity) and that we where required to pay around $500 from memory upfront for an overnight admission to either decide to euthanise or await review in the morning by an external orthopaedic surgeon. We where advised that the repair of our cats leg would cost upwards of $6,000 best case scenario. I had brought up concerns regarding his obviously strange breathing and was advised that it was due to shock and sedation. Despite not having the money, we opted for the external review in the morning as this kitten was a very cherished and therapeutic animal for our teenage daughter with complex PTSD. We decided to contact Bannockburn veterinary clinic who without a single second spared, organised the transfer. I had then called and requested transfer of X-Ray images from the Geelong Animal Emergency Centre to which we where told there weren’t any! This was a strange as we thought that the long wait from them taking him into the consult room to sedate and plan treatment was because of the X-rays. Dr Peter Bond who is my equine vet, immediately reviewed the kitten and asked me if I had noticed his breathing was irregular to which I told him i had and that I was told by the GAE clinic that it was shock and sedation. Peter immediately xrayed our kitty to find that not only did he have a complet leg fracture, but the car must have ran straight over his middle, and he had a ruptured diaphragm, so all of his internal organs where in his chest, basically rendering his insides as a complex soup. Looking at the radiology images, it was almost impossible to singularly identify 1 specific organ. Peter was very honest and upfront about the complexity of the surgery and survival rates. He laid out the exact costs, and his plan to do the most risky parts or surgery first in a linear fashion, to ensure patient stability, prior to continuing on to the next stage in order to reduce costs if he was not to make it through the ordeal - particularly as he had now been close to 24 hours from injury to treatment. So in the end, our vet Peter, rather Wizard, managed to piece together our tiny cat. He put back every single organ making sure there was no damage to each, repaired the diaphragm, put back together his little leg with steel rods and kept him admired under close observation for a few days to ensure he was stable and on the mend. In the end, we only paid $6,000 in total! Only a very small portion of that contributing to his leg. Our kitty is living a perfectly happy, fulfilling life like nothing ever happened. Today, he still climbs our security screens all the way to the top and flops around like nothing had ever happened! We have not since and will not go to any other vet clinic! If you are looking for a vet clinic where you get the best care and treatment backed by a wealth of experience (in years and practice) clinicians with top lever education, true passion for what they do, currency and up to date knowledge of “evidence based best practice”, all treatment options available including best case scenario within your budget (without the default being the “best” and usually most expensive treatment or euthanasia) and complete honesty plus full disclosure of costs, payment options etc, then this is the clinic for you. If you have been given an impossible ultimatum, quote or just want a second opinion for any reason regarding the health and treatment for your pet, i would personally not recommend any other clinic, no matter that travel distance. Bannockburn Vet Clinic, we can not thank you enough and are so pleased to have such brilliant service within reach to facilitate extend, quality living for our fury family!

Negative experience: Quoted a price on pick up the price had increased when there was nothing extra done or provided. I rang to talk to them about it the receptionist ask the vet to call me to talk about the bill but the vet never replied.

Fantastic experience: They look after our rescue cat Tigger whenever we need checkups, medications etc for her. Can't fault them so far so highly recommend them. A+

Negative experience: Registered my dog there, took him for a check up. Will not allow prescriptions to be issued for elsewhere, other vets will. Will price gauge you 4 times the amount at their prices, despite I can get his medication for a quarter of the price. Will not use this Vets again. Do not recommend.

Fantastic experience: I called into this surgery for the first time today and was very impressed by the kindness and professionalism of the reception staff, and also by the lovely vet Doctor Lucy. This clinic has a very homely feel to it, and my little dog, who normally gets hysterical when she has to see the doctor, was quite calm and happy for the whole visit. Surprisingly reasonable bill, considering the amount of time we were there as well as the medications she was prescribed. Thanks all. We appreciate the effort. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to the Bannockburn Vet since I moved here 11 years ago and trust them with the lives of all my Animals. From Wildlife to Poultry. Cats to Horses. All the Vets and Nurses are amazing compassionate people that make you feel like you and your Animal are the most important in the World. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
