Negative experience: This is supposed to be a Veterinary Hospital. My dog was diagnosed by them with AHDS (Acute Haemorrhagic Diahreah Syndrome, it can come on anytime, like late last night, they were booked out and when I asked for Hydralites for Dogs they said there is none, it's on Back Order. This happens often to my dog every 4-5 months and they are always out of stock but isn't Greencross a Vet Hospital. It is not.

Negative experience: Made an online appt weeks ago, only for the office to send me a message 1/2 hour prior to my appt today that they couldn't accommodate my request for the vet to look at my dogs skin tag during her Health Check and Vaccination appt. And that I would have to make a separate appointment for that! Firstly I should not of even bothered to show any courtesy in mentioning it in the notes of the online appt portal. This is part of the health check! The first thing a vet asks at the consultation is "do you have any concerns or issues?". If this wasn't a money grab, I don't know what is! Absolutely disgraceful service. *** Reply to Greencross Vets: If you really were concerned about my experience, you would be contacting ME, not providing a generic reply to make it look like you want to seek resolution, just for the public to witness. *** Update, no they didn't call me. Honestly, what reasoning could they give for the incident? A second appt means more $$$ for them. Greed over duty of care of pets during a health check.

Fantastic experience: We found Brett Beehag our Vet at Greencross Fairy Meadow to be very knowledgeable with a true interest in the well being of our new family member Samantha the labrador Retriever. I have great confidence in having Brett tend to our pets care and health going forward.

Fantastic experience: I can’t speak highly enough of Jackie, the vet nurse at Greencross Vets, Fairy Meadow. She was incredibly kind, calm, and compassionate, and took the time to explain everything clearly during what was a really stressful situation. Jackie made both myself and my dog feel supported and reassured, and it was obvious she genuinely cares about the animals and their owners. Her professionalism and empathy made a huge difference, and I’m very grateful for her help.

Negative experience: Upon arrival with my 62kg dog who had hurt his back whilst playing with me and giving all his details was told he should have a MRI costing $3000.00 .After a half hearted inspection and 2 injections I was told to lock him in a crate for 6 weeks and sold 6 weeks worth of medication for him .Whatever the injection they gave him was his pupils became dilated and made him totally zoned out , at 10.30 pm the poor bugger was still in so much pain he couldn't lie down. We tried to call several times but they close at 4 and weren't open till mon morning even tho they state 24/7. Next day he slowly improved and by the arvo was back to normal so we took the unused and unopened 6 weeks worth of medication back first thing monday only to be told they won't refund for it, but, will dispose of it for us. You are an absolute rip off and couldn't care less about the animals, it's all about the money! Shame on you. Think twice before going to this practice

Fantastic experience: They were wonderful - after hours visit on Xmas Day - thought our cavoodle had a tick near his ear & so grateful they were open. He is given his Nexgard without fail monthly & he'd had it the day before. When they checked it turned out to be a blood blister or like - so relieved. Thank you so very much.

Fantastic experience: This vetinary practice Greencross Fairy Meadow nsw aus is all I cld hope for and more,I only just made them my vetinary place to go,I signed on.and also my pooch isola the greyhound was treated very gently and they were sensitive to her needs and as I am on the disability pension but have since transferred to the aged pension my pet means everything to me and as anyone knows pets are family,so I wld go without if I needed to to see she got the help she needed,this vet practice and the vet and staff all are excellent. Cudos to this practice

Negative experience: Booked an appointment for my dog a fortnight in advance just for them to tell me on the day I'm not booked in he'll they couldn5 even find the records of the first set of needles they gave her not to talk about the outrageous prices when compared to any other vet locally if you care about your pets your wallet and your time do not go here.

Negative experience: The absolute worst vet. Only interested in money. My cat was hit by a car and they were the only vet open. Basically told me it would be upwards of $1500 to keep him alive just for the night. Im a single mum. I asked to take him home and they told me if I did not euthanise him they would be reporting me to RSPCA Felt backed into a corner. Had my baby put to sleep when I believe he could have been saved if the vets had any kind of compassion!! Would NEVER EVER go there again. The worst, most heartless vets. Only care about money Disgusting.

Negative experience: What a disgrace !!!!!!!!!!! Spent mega $$$ in the past but never again !!!! Taken our sick dog tonight for a checkup and was told to leave due to a stray from down the road got in the middle of our entry by running up to our dog… The staff member then told our autistic daughter by yelling at her to take the stray away (at night and note this is not our area) due to not being able to take that stray dog in… I know it is not our problem but we have at duty of care even if this organization does not…. We were directed to take the stray and not granted access all while being told to go the wrong way with our sick and disabled dog, then needing to go across the highway to help this dog to safely get home… all while still not being able to get care for our dog… Disappointed, Frustrated and Upset with an animal care facility … be very cautious as it’s the only after hours vet facility :(

Fantastic experience: Have a been going here for a few years and have always been happy. But especially thankful for Eloise for the kind way she dealt with us when we had to euthanise our 18yo cat last week. Just couldn't have asked for it to be done any better. Fantastic experience: Cannot praise Dr Eloise highly enough, a kind and considerate soul as well as a highly capable vet. Her care for our beloved dog while was suffering with cancer recently was exceptional and above and beyond any service we've previously experienced.

Fantastic experience: They were the only vets that were ever open when my boy, Bossy, had his seizures and needed help. And when it was time to put him down after a massive stroke they had the room dedicated to putting pets to sleep. They made him feel very comfortable & gave my wife & I plenty of time before & after for us to be with him & say our goodbyes. They were the only ones that were ever there for him when he needed help & he never felt scared when he had to go, & for that I will always be grateful. They made his final goodbye as good & respectful as it could be.

Fantastic experience: Would highly recommend Greencross vets in the way they treated us and our pets and experienced a high level of professional standard at a reasonable cost. Due to the declining health of our 2 pet guinea pigs we had to make the painful decision to put both of them down but we are thankful for care.

Fantastic experience: Had to take my Vet shy, dog to here, in an emergency situation. Cannot fault them in any way. The beautiful British accented Veterinary Nurse, the lovely dark haired Veterinarian, were so kind to my sweet baby girl, who is petrified of Vets. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who loves their pets. I cannot express how grateful we are.

Positive experience: Whoever was working the phones at 2:55pm on Saturday 12th of July 2025 could not have made it clearer that she did not want to assist me with my pet's issue, and didn't even give me an option to book an appointment in before hanging up on me. Whoever it was didn't give me a name otherwise I would be including it in this review. She interrupted me multiple times and treated my call as entirely unimportant. I understand it's most likely end of shift for her, but as a medical receptionist, please treat people with kindness. Everyone else at the facility have always been incredibly lovely, kind, and caring, with my particular thanks and gratitude towards Dr Ash for always being helpful and taking care of my pets when they need check ups.

Negative experience: My dog Bruno got paralysed in his legs (Aug 2024) instead of asking if If he was up to date on his anti tick treatment (my bad ) they went on saying there was maybe a spine injury- paid +2.3 k for nothing and they did not even want to apply the anti tick treatment but happy to charge me for it and I had to do it myself- poor diagnosis and quite a scam approach- (IM a doctor working w humans) my dog also has kidney problems and they exposed him to unnecessary anestesia - do not go there -

Positive experience: Mixed reviews, really depends on the luck of who you get. Had vets who are very open minded and give a range of options and solutions, others who instantly dismiss your ways - i feed my boy raw and seen only amazing results. Energy, happiness, LUSCIOUS! coat, all insanely improved on a raw/real food diet. One visit was about specific irritation on the paw, had nothing to do with food or digestion. - She told me to immediately stop raw feeding and his irritation was allergies - Turns out he had an infected cut past his paw pads that she wouldn't look at because it was assumed to be allergies because of feeding and was trying to get us to buy medication for multiple courses. Have called before for little pieces of advice - symptoms or behaviour that was a little unusual but no cause to book an appointment yet. Most of the time been given good advice and at what point i should call for an appointment - eg. if symptoms get worse or last for X amount of time after trying solution A, B or C etc. There have been the occasions where an appointment was necessary and we were well looked after with these appointments. Last few times ive called - immediately told cant give any information or advice over the phone would shut down any questions and just redirect to booking an appointment. Problem was just extra ear wax, easy fix - give your dogs ears a rinse. Had no issues since. When you get the good ones they're great, But luck of the draw when booking here.

Fantastic experience: Great, they helped us out to get puppy vaccination very quickly, plus nice friendly staff.
Negative experience: I will never go back to this vet again. I took my cat in who I thought was suffering from a middle ear infection. The vet that I saw had a quick look in her ears and said no, it was probably much more serious. Then proceeded to tell me that we would have to do xrays, a ct scan and other tests that were going to cost a fortune that I don't have. He told me to come back the next day and we would do the xrays ($700). I was heartbroken. Instead of going back there I went to a different vet, further away but that my Mum had always used. They put my baby girl on antibiotics and days later she was back to her old self. Thank you for putting me through all that heartbreak Greencross.

Fantastic experience: Excellent vets have been our vets for over 10 years
Negative experience: Tonight we lost our toy poodle at fairy meadow went in for surgery in the morning was told the surgery went OK and at roughly 8pm he passed away they told us due to complications my gut tells Me they had something to do with his passing lack of care I asked if someone was there the whole time and they said yes but another nurse they said they had 11 other pets there and but there wasn't 11 stuff there so it wasn't possible a nurse was with him I won't stop till I find out why he passed I have a feeling their hiding something from us only 2 nurses had some compassion the vet wouldn't even come to speak to us that tells me guilty of something They should be embarrassed of how they conducted themselves he was a 12month old toy poodle called bailee and the vet kept calling him an IT WHAT A SOULESS EXCUSE OF A HUMAN BEING The 2x calls I received our dog was dying and she brought up money im disgusted and appalled I'm going to make sure bailee death is not in vain RECEIVED A FOLLOW UP CALL TONIGHT 14/11 and was suggesting our puppy passed away due to our fault how dare she say and she had made up answers to justify herself I'm beside myself and disgusted at this

Negative experience: Where do I start! All about money and not enough about the Family furbabies!!.. Constantly refers to our dog as IT!!... The Vets are like robots...they cannot convey any communications with sincerity/Sympathy and understanding...Our puppy passed away at the inapt hands of Green cross vets fairy meadow...the communication from the vet was appalling and always about money up front...stay away from Green cross vets fairy meadow!!! ....we are still waiting for a report as to how our puppy died while in there care!!!

Negative experience: I had an appointment for a booster shot for a puppy. I used to bring my Great Dane here for years. Was working, came home and a power outage delayed me from getting into the house as garage door wouldn't open. After some time got in, rang the GreenCross at fairy meadow once I was on the road to let them know we were only 3 minutes away. Upon our call she said you've missed the appointment therefore would have to reschedule. This was at 1.18pm and the appointment was for 1.10pm. We were actually in the carpark and still on the phone begging and pleading for some flexibility under the circumstances. Decided to go in to swap over the Nexgard worming tablets for Nexgard Spectra which has the heartworm also. Packaging had never been opened, the lady refused to let me swap it and pay the difference. This product was puchursed from them earlier in the week. I'm disgusted in the way this veterinary Clinic is run. They purely want money but treating there return customers like this is absolutely appalling. I will never step foot in another Green Cross Veterinary clinic and will continue to send email to owner of the business. The Illawarra is a small community and businesses like this don't deserve our hard earned money with attitude like this. I never once swore or tried to intimidate the staff but was very direct with my communication about ever returning with such poor service. The clinic was full, so even if I was on time I can assure you I would've been waiting to get in after the original appointment time, what happens then ? Do I get reimbursed for the waiting time in there clinic. Absolute Joke.

Positive experience: Helped find a lost dogs owner the staff are very friendly and helpful recently went there to have my dog treated, couldn't ask for better vets
Negative experience: I was quoted $12000 for orthopaedic surgery for my cat’s foot/ankle. $2,000 later I hastily had him put TS as I was told, he most likely wouldn’t recover, due to the damage and his age, etc. I called other practices and estimated quote was $3000 to $6000 with generally high recovery. It’s too late for my cat but I hope this will help others to seek another opinion. GC FM is all about profit.

Fantastic experience: I use healthy pets plus. The nail trimming was simple and quick for both cats. A good check up also for my large male cat with some advice on asthma management and they cut a bit of his fur around the bum that sometimes gets dirty for long haired cats. All covered under healthy pets plus, I highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I would like to thank Adrianna who was immensely helpful in locating details of a dog that escaped that would took over to have chip checked on the other hand I would like to also like to provide how dissatisfied and disappointed the service provided to me originally by the lady who originally scanned and provided no info at all this was disgusting service provided by this so called animal carer whom was very unhelpful to say the least on Sunday 22/9/24 @ approximately 330-4pm

Negative experience: The staff are nice but they quoted my cat's femur surgery at $3,000 if all went well, but that was the lower end and it may have ended up being higher had there have been complications. They told us the surgery was risky so this would be likely. We took him to RSPCA in Sydney and they told us it was a fairly standard surgery and they did it for $1,500, so half the price. Additionally, green cross made us pay $1,000 for an X-ray while the RSPCA told us it would have only been $240 with them. Also when i asked the greencross vet if this was a normal price for an xray he looked at me like i was stupid saying i wouldnt find anywhere else cheaper and that all their prices were standard??? On further reflection I think Greencross also tried taking advantage of the fact we are a young couple who hadnt been in this situation before. The vets at RSPCA also spent a lot more time explaining the surgery and asking questions about our cat and seemed to genuinely care about him and us. Greencross seem to care a lot about money is the general gist, they are nice but it is worth saving your money.

Negative experience: My Sealpoint Himalayas (Bella) was taken there on the 13th April 23. I would like to know what symptoms she had to warrant that she be Euthanasia and Cremation. The vet told me that he didn't know what was wrong with her. He charged 375$ when it should have cost more for Consult Euthanasia Cremation Bought in by Tara Devries I've been told that the Vet acted illegally as I didn't give permission for my cat to be Euthanised, I was even at the vet when my cat was there.

Fantastic experience: We took our beautiful girl down because our local vet was out of town, turned out our girl needed emergency surgery, she stayed in for 3 days and she was well looked after. The team at Greencross Vets and the Animal Referral Hospital are absolutely amazing and kind. We received 10/10 care. I 100% will come back for future visits and I will refer them to all I know. Negative experience: Now the place has changed and is bigger, busier and has more vets no one cares. We came multiple times over a few months worried about our dog and now she's dead. She was six.

Fantastic experience: This is the only vet where I know I will get help as soon as someone gets on the phone with us. While we have been lucky to see many good vets here. We LOVE Dr Joe and Dr Joe (there's 2) Dr Joe x 2 always provides a clear and comprehensive picture of all possibilities. Comfortable talking about cons of treatments not just pros but the most important thing for us is they respect me as "mum" to trust when I say something is wrong despite my puppies looking okay. I talk alot and I can tell they know how to sift through for important details that I thought were insignificant. Also huge shout out to Eden and I think I heard Glen (?). Eden put our daschy Effy into the hospital and spent a long time sitting in the waiting room petting her and getting her comfy a few days ago. No one has ever done that thank you so much. And (?) Glen who discharged our cav Bonnie to us last night. Bonnie came home from her treatment in hospital last time clearly traumatised and it was clear this time she was going to miss you and something healed for her inner puppy. I can't give her what you did. Thank you Glen (?) Healthy Pets Plus is a bargain. Pay an annual fee and free health checks, discounted almost everything I swear and 1 free 24/7 visit per annum. I mean read the T's & C's for yourself but ours has already paid for itself and we got it only 2 weeks ago. Always trust your gut and communicate it thoroughly to your vet. We have had some things go wrong here as well with a different vet (just one vet) but the team are open to feedback and no red tape when requesting to speak with the practice manager. Thanks heaps Dr Joe, Dr Kevin, Dr Joe #2, Eden and (?)Glen Probably the only thing is I've seen aggressive and reactive puppies in the waiting room who probably need an isolated space to wait. Negative experience: Went to this vet on 16/04 Tuesday and my cat got ear hematoma I’m pretty sure, but DR Kevin Lee says it’s was nothing to worry about and he said it’s very “unlikely”happen in cats, it’s 99% happened in dog ears. Send us home and says it will recover by itself. But unfortunately it didn’t goes well as he says and went worst then 16/04 so we change to another hospital and did a big surgery about my cat ears. It nearly waste our more than one week time and miss the right therapy time. And my cat suffering more. He said “can’t even remember when it’s the last time did the hemetoma surgery for cats” maybe he is not good at cat therapy, I don’t know. It’s my first time and last time visit Greencross FM which I’m very disappointed. I’m not post any pictures attached because his surgical looked very shocking on his poor little ear. It should be recovered by two weeks if he did the right diagnosis in that day, but now it’s needs more than 4 weeks. I’m very sad and suffering for my cat everyday, also disappointed for the vet in this hospital, wouldn’t recommend if you are cat owner.

Fantastic experience: Dr Ash is kind, empathetic and incredibly knowledgeable about rats. I have been taking my pet rats to him for years for almost 5 years. I recommend him completely.

Positive experience: Great for dogs, not as great for cats! The team at Green Cross are awesome. However, I can't give a 5 star rating this time due to having to wait an hour for a booked appointment while dogs were constantly barking. I understand it's hard to accommodate all animals. They have a separate waiting section for cats than dogs, but it's only separated by a half wall. They were using diffusers for dogs (not feliway) and dog treats everywhere - but no cat treats, not even for sale. My cat had a very stressful time being sick with dogs barking like mad and all kinds of scary sounds and smells while we waited for an hour sitting there. Thank you for looking after my cats, but I would be more keen to come in for regular check ups if it were a more cat friendly environment.

Negative experience: Was in a spot miles from home, our fur baby needed a vet they were open . Okish, run likes an automated machine . Rather take your money than nurture your fur baby. Not saying they aren't efficient and experienced. Just that they come across as a poker machine, take your money with little or no return.

Negative experience: We called to get our dog looked at as she had hives and vomiting and told we could come in to see the emergency vet, on arrival were treated as an inconvenience, Told it wouldn’t be long as the emergency vet wasn’t there. “Even though we were Told we could be seen on arrival from and emergency vet” that was the whole purpose of our trip. Left sitting for 40 minutes to then be told it’s still another half an hour wait to be seen. And we can come back if we would like. Disgusting service, thank goodness our dog want too sick as an emergency wasn’t available as we were told it was. As a loyal customer at green cross over the years this is very disappointing

Every single member of the clinic went above and beyond to provide the best care, support and advice to both me and my boy. They were attended to straight away & given the treatments needed. They saved both my dogs lives. Im So grateful to the Vets & Nurses who get our furry friends well and on there feet again.

Fantastic experience: Greencross Vets were so wonderful with our most recent visit! Our 2yo Kelpie had badly cracked one of her canine teeth and needed surgery. I felt informed through the whole process and felt that all staff genuinely cared about our girl. Dr Peter who performed the surgery was great and saw us numerous times post surgery for routine checks to ensure the wound was healing well, all inclusive. He showed a lot of care and compassion. Thank you Greencross, I'm so grateful for all the team and considered the cost to be affordable.
