Fantastic experience: My dog has chronic gut issues and liver disease which were beyond the expertise of my local vet to manage and are now under control thanks to QVS. My dog's recent health problem presented as a gut issue but careful investigation by the QVS vet showed that it was actually his back. If they'd just gone with his scans they'd probably have concluded 'not his gut' but we still wouldn't have known what it was. But QVS is not like that. They will provide answers. The back pain expains not just his symptoms but his behaviour. Without QVS I really don't know what we'd do.

Fantastic experience: Life-Changing Care - Dr. Breierer is Simply Outstanding! We cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Lucas Breierer and the entire team at Queensland Veterinary Specialists! Dr. Breierer performed a total hip replacement on our 2-year-old Border Collie cross Kelpie, Dasher, and the results have been absolutely transformative. Our journey began when Dasher was diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia at just 6 months old. We agonized over the decision - should we proceed with surgery early or wait? The choice was ultimately made for us when she woke up at 2 years old with partial leg paralysis. While temporary, it was the sign we needed that her hips required immediate intervention. From our very first consultation, Dr. Breierer and his team were nothing short of magnificent. They took the time to explain everything in simple, understandable terms - not just the surgical procedure itself, but also the critical post-operative care needed for optimal recovery. Their communication was exceptional, and they made us feel confident and supported every step of the way. The pre-op period had us worried about containing Dasher's boundless energy, but she surprised us all by seeming to understand her limitations and being remarkably compliant. As her recovery progressed and her desire to run and jump returned, managing her activity became our biggest challenge - but it was absolutely worth it! We were amazed that Dasher was able to toilet with just a sling under her tummy from day one at home. With regular toilet breaks and watchful supervision, she settled beautifully on her bed between meals and bathroom trips. The recovery process required dedication, but the outcome has been beyond our wildest expectations. Three months post-surgery, Dasher's new hip is actually STRONGER than her original hip! While we know it's still early days, she's nearly back to 100% of her former self - actually, she's better than before! We're now seriously considering having her other hip done, which speaks volumes about our experience and confidence in Dr. Breierer's expertise. The support, guidance, and exceptional care we received from Dr. Breierer and the QVS team during this challenging time was truly remarkable. We have our little girl back, happier and healthier than ever before. Having the operation was undoubtedly the best decision we could have made for Dasher's quality of life. If your pet needs orthopedic surgery, we cannot recommend Dr. Breierer and Queensland Veterinary Specialists highly enough. They gave our girl a second chance at the active, pain-free life she deserves. Forever grateful! ❤️

Fantastic experience: Brought one of my cats in over the new year public holiday and although the staff were super busy, their level of care was amazing and my girl has recovered beautifully. The separate cat waiting room is also really nice for dog-reactive cats incase any dogs come in while you’re waiting. The building is beautiful and modern- this was my first time coming here since they moved from their previous address next to the Rode Rd shopping complex and I was incredibly impressed! Safe to say that I’m glad these guys are here as I know if any of my pets ever find themselves in a situation where they need to be brought here, they’ll be well taken care of!

Fantastic experience: Thank you to Dr Vanessa Yap for providing excellent care to our girl when we brought her in recently - you diagnosed and prescribed treatment that was absolutely crucial to the healing of her eye. Our usual vet also praised you when we took our girl for a check-up a few days later. Our girl is now back to her usual happy self and her eye is completely healed. Thanks also to the wonderful receptionist - I'm so sorry I don't know your name but you were excellent at triaging and we were seen as quickly as possible given how busy it was.

Fantastic experience: The team at QVS have looked after both of my sweet babies Cleo and Wilfred for years. A couple weeks ago, my sweet angel cat Cleo (16 years) was sent off over the rainbow bridge in a very calm, quiet, and safe place. She was made comfortable, surrounded by love, and with me right there with her. I want to thank the team at QVS for looking after Cleo all these years and showing her the utmost love, respect, and being so patient with us.

Fantastic experience: I found a baby Magpie struggling on the road at Windsor last evening coming back from dog walking at Downey Park, stopped & thought that the wing might have been broken but took the dear little thing to the Emergency Vet Stafford, unfortunately it had 2 broken legs and had to be euthanized. I may have been hit by a car! just rang them to see if I could have its little body back so could bury it in my yard but was told that Pets in Peace collect them, cremate them and spread their ashes around Glass House Mountains. Extremely impressed and also happy for the bird that it will be back in the outdoors. Thank you for everyone at the clinic who looked after this pained & terrified baby bird ❤️❤️

Fantastic experience: Unfortunately we have had to say goodbye to two of our elderly pets here, about two years apart. The team were wonderful. Compassionate, caring, and gentle, they even helped connect us with cremation services. Should you find yourself in need of emergency veterinary care, I would definitely recommend.

Fantastic experience: I brought 2 dogs in for hip/elbow scoring as advertised on QVS website. I was nervous to get them in because I haven't had this done before but really appreciated the timely responses, answering my questions, getting them booked in so quickly, the positioning on the radiographs was good, I felt the dogs were in good hands and well looked after by the team, and cherry on top was they got good results

Fantastic experience: My boy Mo had been having difficulties with trying to urinate for 2 days. I took him over late night for a check up and rang before heading over. First time here and was checked in swiftly, Mo was taken out back and before I knew it we were talking to one of their fantastic vets who asked alot of questions, explained what was going on very clearly with his FLUTD and even wrote up some things on the white board to understand better. Medications prescribed and we were on out way home. Very friendly service and one of the best vet experiences I've had in Brisbane. I would recommend taking all your pets here.

Fantastic experience: Last night my poor cat was extremely unwell. I took him to QVS and even though I’m emotionally drained and it was an ordeal I wanted to leave a review for Dr Zien Wen Tay. I have never experienced a vet who was so thorough in his advice and so knowledgeable. He helped me weigh up my options financially taking into account risk and the actual unknowns. He was kind to me and my cat! I wish he was a regular vet as I would see him moving forward if I could!! Thank you for all you do Dr Zein.

Negative experience: I am writing to formally raise concerns about the communication and overall experience my partner and I had during our recent visits regarding our puppy, Parker, who was referred to your clinic for assessment and treatment of a suspected liver shunt. From the outset, we attempted to follow all instructions provided by your medical team. After Parker’s initial consultation, CT scan, and prescription of medications and diet prior to surgery, we were advised over the phone by the medical veterinarian that we could stop his medication unless his condition declined. Approximately a week and a half later, when we contacted the clinic to schedule his surgery, we were informed by the surgical coordinator that Parker likely should not have been taken off his medication. We were told a medical veterinarian would return our call for clarification. Later that day, a medical intern phoned to express concern and stated that stopping the medication could be dangerous due to the risk of ammonia building up in Parker’s system. The following day, however, our original medical veterinarian contacted us to say this advice was incorrect and that there had been ongoing issues with staff misreading Parker’s case file. We were then advised to restart the medication and reassured that the interruption should not have caused harm. Upon speaking with the surgeon directly, we did finally receive an apology for the miscommunication as well as a surgical estimate of approximately $7,500, with overnight care costs estimated between $1,000 and $2,000 per night. Although this was significantly higher than expected, we proceeded as we believed this was our only option. However, one day before the scheduled surgery, we had still not received any pre-surgery instructions or consent forms. My partner was then contacted to confirm whether we wished to proceed, and we were informed that our original medical veterinarian would no longer be available for Parker’s overnight care. When I attempted to clarify this directly, I was told by the receptionist that arrangements had already been made with my partner and that no further follow-up was necessary. At this stage, due to the repeated communication issues and uncertainty regarding Parker’s care, we felt it was necessary to seek a second opinion. Our regular veterinarian was able to arrange for a specialist to perform the surgery at our usual clinic, and we received clear communication as well as a significantly lower estimate—$4,000 for surgery and a set fee of $695 for overnight care. I want to emphasize that our concerns stem from the repeated miscommunication, inconsistent medical instructions, and lack of organisational clarity we experienced throughout this process. As Parker’s owners, we were left feeling uncertain, worried, and without confidence in the care being provided. This is not the standard of professionalism or reliability we had hoped for when seeking treatment for a serious medical condition. I am providing this feedback in the hope that it will assist you in improving internal communication, case-file management, and client support moving forward, so that future families do not encounter similar issues. Thank you for taking the time to read and consider my concerns. I would appreciate confirmation that this complaint has been received and, where possible, information on how these issues may be addressed.

Fantastic experience: Amazing service from all staff at QVS. The reception and veterinary staff were all super warm and heart felt and engaging. The vets made sure to explain everything and give us lots of updates and time to see my dog when possible. They seemed to treat my dog like their own with cuddles and joy and warmth, plus ofcourse life saving medical care and monitoring for her after a paralysis tick almost wiped her out. Ofcourse the care was costly but they managed to save a life! (And Afterpay is available there too). I couldn’t recommend this place enough.

Fantastic experience: Our little girl has been diagnosed with lymphoma and the oncology team have been great to deal with. They are very knowledgeable and are adapting our and our dog’s needs. Our dog can be reactive to other people and animals, the medical staff have taken the time to get to know our pup and now she feels comfortable with them while they do their examinations.

Negative experience: I wasted my time and money taking my dog here on several occasions over 9 months and getting no answers from the vets and in house medicine specialist, as well as no solutions to my dogs constant vomiting, shaking, weakness, coughing and loss of appetite. After spending thousands of dollars and being quoted about $10,000 for further investigation, being a CT scan. I decided I would seek a second opinion. I then got an appointment relatively quick with Dr Darren Fry from Albany Creek BVSC and from the get go, felt like he really cared and listened. He was reassuring when agreeing she isn't at EOL stages and was quick to suggest an Endoscope which after 8 months of pain, medications, constant specialist appointments, thousands of dollars and all the test you could imagine, except the endoscope that I asked for several times and was told by QVS it wasn't suitable due to her age. BVSC did the simple Endoscope and CT scan (costing $4,000 instead of $10,000) that showed she had a blade of grass lodged in her nasal cavity that was causing all of the issues, and was easily removed and the infection treated. I will forever be thankful to the team at BVSC for ultimately saving my dogs life when a week prior I almost accepted to put her down off the advice of QVS North Lakes due to her suffering. Please get a second opinion and I highly recommend Darren Fry and the Albany Creek BVSC team. Absolutely disgusted at myself for trusting QVS and letting my dog suffer unnecessarily for 9 months along with donating thousands of dollars with zero achieved.

Fantastic experience: I can honestly not speak more highly of the exceptional care our dog Adonis received during his 4 day stay with your team. Every single person I spoke to or dealt with (from the nurses, to the ladies at reception to the incredible vets) talked to me with compassion and sensitivity during what was an incredibly stressful time for us. All of the vets that we had (Tegan, Monique and Tess) were incredibly thorough in their explanations, incredibly kind and exceptionally clear in their communication with me. I never felt like I didn't know what was happening or what the plan was. Special mention to lovely Dr Tegan who had to put up with my endless barrage of questions- but was so incredibly helpful. I know it is highly unlikely we were treated specially which I think is a true testament to your clinic and I know that each and every animal that comes through your doors is so well looked after. I am sure not all of the stories have had as good an outcome as ours, but I want all the staff to know how much we truly appreciated our time with your team. In the nicest possible way, we hope not to be back, but will absolutely recommend your team if the need arises! As a healthcare professional myself I know that working in the health and medical fields are often a thankless job- so I think it is really important that the appropriate recognition is given to all the lovely ladies involved in our care. From the bottom of our hearts- thank you again!!

Negative experience: I contemplated whether to leave this review….but after sitting on this a few days I am still really upset so wanted to write it. I took my beautiful cat here who sadly had stage four kidney disease and I notice she took a very rapid down turn. It was a Sunday so my usual vet was unavailable (who is great - highly recommend the cat clinic). I knew she was coming to her last days as I’d seen my vet the week prior and multiple times over the past few months. But I took her to emergency as I noticed the downturn and wanted to check if there was anything I could do to help her. The vets took her from us and put her on oxygen and after about an hour took us into a room by ourselves where we were given the third degree over her health. The vet made me and my partner feel like we’d neglected her and we felt like we were being questioned about whether we had done the right things. I felt like they tried to guilt trip us into leaving her there and spending thousands of dollars or else she’d die. However my vet had already run me through the pros and cons of the hospital visit and said it really wouldn’t make a difference at this late stage. When I told this to the emergency vet she made me feel guilty and like I couldn’t have my cat back. All I wanted to do was get my cat and leave so she could be comfortable and this was such an awful experience on what was the hardest day where I ended up losing my girl. I’m so sad and disappointed with this experience. I see others recommend Albany creek emergency who I have used before and would definitely recommend over here if you need somewhere.

Negative experience: These vets has taken our dog’s urine samples three times so it can be sent to be cultured without being able to find the cause of her passing blood in her urine. Seems this is all they do to make money over and over again. Today our dog got sent home without any medication to at least improve her situation.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend the team at QVS Stafford. My doggo suffered a major seizure and it was recommended that she have an MRI for possible underlying causes. As a much loved pooch and my own anxiety about the process I only wanted the best for her and I received it from Dr Bri and the team at Stafford. Compassion, professionalism, expert knowledge and excellent communication are just some examples of my experience with Dr Bri. Also a comprehensive follow up plan also discussed and agreed based on the results. Another positive is that the clinic have an MRI machine on site. Thanks team

Fantastic experience: I was so impressed coming to QVS, I officially changed vets. Being a 24 hour clinic is fantastic. Dr Xavier and the repo team were knowledgeable, calm and available to see us early in the mornings which was very convenient with my work commitments. My dog was quite anxious and Dr Xavier created a plan to suit her behaviour and helped as manage the timelines but also fit our schedule. Everything was calm and no fuss. Thank you

Negative experience: I spent twenty-five hundred Australian dollars on two ultrasounds and blood tests, yet they failed to identify that my kitten's severe constipation had led to a massive buildup of stool in her abdomen.

Fantastic experience: When I had to make the hardest decision for my sick senior cat, she was put to sleep here to end her suffering. We were treated with kindness, empathy & understanding. There was no wait when we arrived that night & we were ushered in as soon as we arrived. I was given a lock of my beautiful girls fur & as her paw prints needed time to dry, when I returned to pick them up, they'd been made with fine gold dust on a black cardboard background inside a sympathy card. They went above & beyond any expectations & I'm so grateful for the time & care they provided. My heart is still broken as I grieve my cherished girl & I miss & shed tears for her every day. I adopted her when she was a 6 week old kitten & she would've turned 16 in November. As harrowing & painful as it was & still is, this Vet helped to ease us through this sad & anguished time in a compassionate way I will be eternally grateful for. .

Fantastic experience: The pet emergency team, and internal medicine team took care of my baby Miko exceptionally. Worth every cent knowing that the whole team- vets and nurses cared for my cat, as if they were his own. There’s no other vet and team I would trust with my Miko and my other animals. Fantastic experience: I took my dog Belle in for an emergency c section. The surgery went well and the pups were all fine, the team at qvs Stafford were absolutely amazing, especially DR Xavier. A few days post surgery I noticed suddenly my girls wound opened up. I was so upset, anxious and in tears as I couldn’t afford another large vet bill. Dr Xavier and the team were once again absolutely amazing. Belle had to be put to sleep again and the wound had to be reconstructed. They reassured me that my girl was going to be okay and they also made this visit VERY affordable. I can’t thank Dr Xavier and the team at Stafford QVS enough. Fantastic experience: Having a sick pet during the night is stessful, but when I had to take my Jack Russell on Saturday night I was really thankful to have such a lovely, caring receptionist that understood my anxiousness. The level of care from the Vet was thorough and comprehensive with the costs told up front.

Fantastic experience: Even though the final outcome was sad , the ongoing support both us and our pet cat received for the whole journey was outstanding, If we ran out of medication before our next visit, a phone call to our contact vet was all that was needed to be re-supplied. Each stage of the treatment was explained in plain english. The final stage, Euthanasia, was very clean and tidy, far ahead what I have experienced at other vets. Thank you Christine.

Fantastic experience: I always go straight to these professionals now, unless it’s just vaccination etc, as I know if there’s any chance that tests or anything complex is involved, that they will know what’s going on. I’ve previously wasted time & money treating my dog’s illness at the local vets & have then ended up being referred to these guys anyway. You get what you pay for

Fantastic experience: QVS will do right by you & your pets. This is a veterinary clinic that you can trust - especially in emergencies, which is where they really shine, as they're open 24/7 & also have specialty imaging services on-site, including ultrasound, X-ray & more. I've never experienced anything but the very best in care from QVS. Certainly for my darling cat, who is seventeen years old as I update this review, thanks in no small part to QVS' assistance throughout the years. QVS extend their superior standard of care not only to their animal patients, but also to the human caretakers thereof (strictly in the non-medicinal sense, of course). They demonstrate particular regard for empathy, compassion, & kindness towards all creatures great & small, humanity included. Insofar as disability access is concerned, very few businesses I've ever encountered have been so thoroughly understanding, patient, & pragmatically helpful as QVS have been. As a person living with a complex disability profile, QVS have done a brilliant job of accommodating my needs. In doing so, they significantly reduced the functional impact caused by my disabilities, thus enabling me to participate more effectively during crucial veterinary consultations. I can't adequately explain how meaningful this is. Nor can I sufficiently express my gratitude to QVS for being the rare sort of people & business who are willing to take the extra time, effort & understanding I need to be able to do what I need to do for my cat, just like any other person. QVS takes action to make equity happen, & such things are still rare enough that they should be celebrated. I've been deeply touched by how unfailingly kind & helpful so many QVS staff members have been throughout the years. Perhaps especially because I've usually needed to see them when my little one's been playing with a stray thread found trailing from the Grim Reaper's cloak. I've been crying, so exhausted or distraught I can't remember things properly (& needing every little detail written down), asking every possible question, telling them everything she's done since she clawed her way out of her mother (just in case!), & falling to pieces before, during & after the consult. The staff just couldn't be any nicer, every single time. The staff all obviously really care about the animals they see (as do most people in this business, realistically). They're careful & thorough in their medical investigations, without running every unnecessary test under the sun. They take thorough histories, explore likely differential diagnoses in a logical order, always prioritise the well-being of their animal clients, & consult with their humans every step of the way to make sure they're able to do as much as they can to optimally meet each individual patient's needs. QVS usually provide a selection of different treatment options at different price points. I found this approach both very considerate and also realistic. None of the options I've been presented with seemed to disregard the well-being of my pet. Their pricing is fair for the services provided. Everyone who works here needs to be paid; not just for all their excellent work, but also for the years of study and practical training that allows them to do it; for the late, LATE hours they're always available to help your pets; and for the vast array of top-notch medical machinery & medications that QVS have available on site for any given moment when they might be needed. I have good cause to believe QVS have always been upfront & realistic with me when discussing costs, risks, & benefits of assorted treatment options. The talented professionals at QVS have frequently been able to offer me excellent advice & treatment, which has definitively resulted in positive outcomes. They've helped to save the furry little love of my life on at least one occasion, if not more. She wouldn't still be here if not for them, which is invaluable to me. Should you need to, I wouldn't hesitate to confidently recommend entrusting the care of your beloved pets to the skilled team at QVS!

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend QVS enough. Throughout the years my dog has been somewhat unlucky and required shoulder surgery, hip replacement surgery, emergency colon surgery and dealt with skin issues from allergies. My dog is extremely fearful of people and this behaviour is highly exacerbated during visits with unfamiliar smells, places and people. However, every single visit I have been met with nothing but kindness and understanding from everyone including reception staff, nurses and vets/specialists/surgeons. Despite my dogs reactivity she is provided with the best quality of care and shown empathy. Her procedures have significantly improved her quality of life and even saved her life. Fantastic experience: I cannot give Dr Lucas and the team at Queensland Veterinary Specialists enough credit. Our baby Matcha came in with a fractured tibia and the team were very patient, understanding and caring. She initially stayed overnight and we were going to take her elsewhere for her surgery but Dr Lucas provided a detailed consultation and support which changed our minds and she had 6 screws and a plate put in at QVS. The detailed aftercare service was excellent and provide peace of mind. Money aside, it was worth it to ensure Matcha fully recovers. Thank you QVS team and Dr Lucas.

Fantastic experience: I cannot thank QVS Stafford staff and Dr Lucas Beierer enough. We brought our beautiful boy Toast in with a dislocated hip leading to a total hip replacement . From the very first emergency visit until his last review appointment, the staff showed compassion and were also happy to help with any queries we had during such an emotional and stressful time. Toast is able to live a normal life and we are forever grateful ❤️

Negative experience: Worst clinic ever! Don't go here, I waited hours for such a simple request and the nursing staff were very rude, dismissive and not helpful at all. I would recommend going out to Albany creek emergency vet instead, I've received much better care from here before with my doggies!
