Fantastic experience: Very kind & knowledgeable vet and lovely staff.

Negative experience: No problem with the vet but the snappy reception who when asked that paying $48 for each script seemed a gouge got nasty straight up. Talked some shit about it being illegal not to charge it. When I said my two vets charge $20 or don’t charge she got nastier and suggested I can transfer my animals care to them. Dr Lara is great and whoever that was needs customer service training and a smile. She’s like the one at Howard Springs Vets, possibly the same one with the RPM meter set to attack regardless of what you say.

Fantastic experience: Always have a lovely experience! Even running a tiny bit behind (which doesn't bother me at all!!) still managed to keep things calm, informed and happy! So appreciative!

Negative experience: Don’t know if I got this person on a bad day but they were rude, snappy, cut you off from talking and not helpful when a question was asked. Especially a question that others have attended to differently and I know more could have been done. You could tell she was frustrated and didn’t add the special vaccination discount. I had to ask for it. Very disappointing when we have always dealt with very supportive people.

Fantastic experience: Dr Fritz is a great doctor and really cared about my dogs and looked after BULLET, I would highly recommend this vet,,now back in Darwin in 2025 and bullet my little man had a mastcell tumour and once again dr fritz did his wonderful talent and removed it,and my baby girl bonnie who is 17yr old English staffie took fantastic care of her,,you can't put a price on your dog's like kids you don't complain if your children are sick and need to spend money,,2 vets is use when travelling Australia that is dr renae in Victoria and dr fritz in Darwin,,good job guys

Fantastic experience: Our Sam went here and there other clinic her whole life. We loved the care and attention the vets and nurses gave her. She LOVED going because she always got lots of treats and pats. Her two favourite things in life. We recently had to put her down at 14.5 and these guys were amazing, really made a heart breaking day and moment comfortable for us all. I just recieved a card of condolences from them with laminated prints of her nose and paw. So unexpectedly kind and so above and beyond. Highly recommend this clinic.

Negative experience: Used to go here 10 years ago and stopped due to one particular vet that demoralised us for being registered breeders and how no one should breed dogs etc. We now have a small puppy that doesn’t tolerate the car and wanted to go to vet super close to home. Explained to practice we hadn’t been for 10 years and why and they made the appointment for vaccinations. On morning on vaccination the girl called to cancel my appointment and reschedule to next morning. I explained that if it was the next morning it would be inconveniencing me as I would have to reschedule my clients and if it could be squeezed in today or another day. The girl continuously kept talking over the top of me not allowing me to ever finish what I was saying and then immediately said we’re not welcome there. I called back spoke to Trina who was super rude and aggressive on the phone and also kept talking over the top of me but kept saying I was doing it to her meanwhile she was the one that wouldn’t stop talking for a moment. Do not recommend this place at all as the staff here have super large egos that they put first over your pets health. I ended the call with some choice words since these girls were nothing but rude.

Fantastic experience: A few days before Christmas we scrambled to find an appointment for our 14 year old much loved, and quite sick cat. Having relocated to Darwin we did not have a vet and we ended up here by chance. Ultimately we had to have him euthanized and I cannot fault the care and compassion shown to both him and his very upset mums. The vet Angela was really thorough talking us through the results and all the options available. She made an awful decision easier and the level of compassion shown to Pooka was amazing (particularly given his less than friendly response to vets!) We are so glad we ended up at this vet on that day and not elsewhere. The receptionist was also very kind and thoughtful Thank you for making an awful day as easy as possible

Fantastic experience: This is really long, but the main point is I just want to express my absolute gratitude and appreciation for this clinic & the amazing staff here! The staff are friendly and genuinely care about our pets. They always give a warm greeting with smiles on their faces and make an effort to remember you and your pets so you feel like family. Our family dog, Charlie, passed away on 27/11/2020. They let me come to the clinic at their closing time (she passed not long before) to say goodbye to her. I sat on the ground with her & cried hysterically for at least 30 minutes after the clinic closed. The staff brought me tissues, gave their condolences and gave me the space to be alone with her. They never rushed me or made me feel bad even though I’m sure they had had a long day already. After we adopted our dog, Leo, about 3 years ago, we started bringing him to this clinic. Unbeknownst to us, our boy was gravely ill. If it weren’t for the vets, vet nurses & other staff listening to our concerns and actually investigating/addressing them, our beautiful dog would genuinely not be here with us today, thriving, happy and SO healthy. They worked tirelessly with us to get him better and reached out to a professor in Perth to get guidance on a treatment plan for him. During his hospitalisation there, the vet would call & email us outside of her work hours to give us updates and the staff would allow us to come in separately or together at all different times to work around our work schedules so we could sit/be with him. As soon as they could, the vets gave us all the information & tools we needed to bring Leo home and look after him there, they called me daily to check in and to update me with any results or adjustments to his treatment.They were up front, empathetic and non-judgemental about the costs of treating him and researched different treatment options so that we could make an informed decision both financially and emotionally. I could not express high enough praise! The care, devotion and passion they have is incredible!!! I always feel relieved and comfortable knowing my dog is in the very best hands here.

Negative experience: Terrible experience ever!!! They told me that my dog was fat , now I find out with another vet that she got cushing syndrome and it makes her belly bigger and lose fur.

Negative experience: Been taking my 2 dogs there since 2015, the receptionists aren't prepared to deal with people. Very rude specially if you need to ask something. Started a treatment 2 years ago and they've never cured the dog but always wanted more money, the worst thing they've done was the last treatment that I suppose to give expensive medications to my dog for 2 weeks and then had to take him back to see if he would need operating, after 2 weeks took him back to find out the Vet was on holiday for a month and I would have to do it all again and they still charge me consultation $70. If you are reading this please take your dog somewhere else as this a business with no consideration whatsoever for our dogs.

Negative experience: Pricing is ridiculous - a script fee is basically the same as a consult fee. I've been a long term client & watched the care go from pets and their people to money. Extremely disappointed. Also they don't really seem to be able to keep staff - getting to see the same vet is almost impossible.

Negative experience: I went there because the good Reviews. Never go there again! I took my pup there because she had some lumps I wanted to get checked out. Of course my puppy was excited and didn't want to hold still at the start. What I think is nothing unusual. Instead of trying to calm her down, the Vet was already talking about sedating my dog to be able to check her out. They went next door to check her out and came back with samples. Told me they have to check them under the microscope to be able to tell me what the issue is. Didn't mention though that this cost extra and how much it gonna cost. Found that out at the checkout. I am very unhappy with that experience and wouldn't recommend it.

Negative experience: The counter staff were friendly but the vet killed the bird we brought in and we are both certain even with the injuries it had it would have survived with us. They didn’t tell us they put the bird down. I had to call and got told by a nurse that she quote “knew nothing”. I now feel ashamed I brought the bird in to its death.

The team here really help you take care of your pets and provide a lot of insight into which medications are out there for you to choose, and check up on your pets with timely reminders for boosters/next lot of immunizations etc.

Negative experience: MY DOG WAS MISDIAGNOSED DUE TO SOCIAL DISTANCING RULES LEAVING HIM WITH A FOREIGN BODY IN HIS EYE! I was referred to univets by their sister company my vet wulagi because my vet wulagi was fully booked until the next Monday. My vet wulagi had previously misdiagnosed my dog with a scratched cornea 2days earlier . My dog actually had a foreign body in his eye. Which I had suspected and told them while booking the appointment. They misdiagnosed him due to social distancing rules that prevent you from attending appointments with your pet. The reason social distancing is a problem is that My dog was terrified to go into the vet alone. Because he was so scared he was not cooperating and opening his eye so they couldn’t view it properly and still charged me $170 for the consult and meds. I was still concerned and knew he had a foreign body in his eye and attempted to book another appointment at wulagi. They had no appointments available and referred me to univets. At Univets I also Couldn’t attend the appointment with my dog which resulted in them misdiagnosing him with a scratched cornea again. he was that stressed that he released his anal glands during the appointment. I had also taken photos of the foreign body and sent in an email hours before attending the appointment. Who I had shown to medical professionals who could tell it was a foreign body just by looking at the photos. They charged me another $170 for the consult including meds and sent him home with the splinter still in his eye and said that it could be a sequestrum in his eye and it might heal with meds. Then offered to book him in to put him under and have a PROPER look for a further $470. I was feeling ripped off and disappointed that I had paid twice and still did not get a confident answer. My instinct told me to get a opinion from another vet. I am glad that we decided not to spend the further 470 instead I went to Nightcliff vets where they let me attend the appointment. They confirmed the foreign body in the first 2 minutes of the consult and considered our dog to be a high priority patient he squeezed him in and managed to remove the foreign body. This was all done in under 2 hours and my dog was ready to be picked up. They charged me less than $170 for the consult and removal of the splinter. He is finally happy and healing. Unfortunately he has a bigger ulcer due the foreign body being left in for a long time.

Negative experience: Very friendly and professional front counter team. But Absolute useless vet, it took the vet more than 45min to administer 2 simple injection to my dog. The vet was so scared of my dog that the moment my dog move his body she left the needle on him and ran to the other corner of the room ( I remove the needle from my dog)and after 5 try, she commented that it wouldn’t be this hard if it was a chihuahua, I didn’t know the vets get their certificate based on breed. Total incompetent, unprofessional and useless doctor, she shouldn’t be vet. If you are scare dog big dogs, don’t attend big dog, I booked almost 10 days in advance and that was the second time my dog visit the place.

Negative experience: There are three or four vets in Darwin that take turns doing the after hours call outs. We had a very sick dog on a Sunday night and called the University Avenue vet about 8.30pm as it was their turn to be on call.... We explained to the male vet that answered the phone, our dog was having alot of trouble breathing, was out of her medication ( as her usual vet had changed hands and hadn't bothered to change their open times on Google). I told the vet she had to stand to be able to breathe, and could we please bring her in and get some medication..... (happy to pay the $380.00 call out fee). His reply was, "oh she will not die without that medication", just keep her in the A/C and she SHOULD be OK until the morning..... Yes at the time this gave us a little peace of mind, trusting this guy...... But when I look at it now, he probably just couldn't be bothered to meet us at the clinic, or maybe he had a glass or two and couldn't drive..... Just maybe if he got out of his chair and away from the TV our little dog just might be alive today...... I did take her to another vet asap in the morning but she passed away at 11.15 that morning..... I will not have anything to do with these vets that take turns doing call outs. There are other vets in Darwin that have their own after hours service...

I've never felt so welcome in a vet before or so instantly comfortable that my beautiful cat has been well looked after. Their services are exceptionally well priced, their clinic looks great and I wouldn't take my fur-baby anywhere else at all. Special shout out to Sophie who helped explain all the aftercare instructions post surgery to me with a smile, a laugh and just generally wonderful customer service - you made me feel so much better! Negative experience: Thought I'd do the right thing by giving my dog anti anxiety mediciation, she charged me $42 a month, I found the same medication online for $8 a month from Australia. On top of her outrageous $70 concitation for ten minutes work. She wants to make $34 a month profit off me. I told her I was in another state and needed to get him medication and I wanted a script. She told me there would be a $22 a month script fee. All for her ten minutes work. Will never go back

Fantastic experience: My cat was brought here while I was away on holiday, as she was suffering from a number of serious ailments, and my regular vet was not able to fully diagnose her. $3200 later she's 95% up to scratch, an expensive stay, but she's alive, mostly herself and no longer in pain. I think it's worth it, and the vet was experienced, knowledgeable, and went out of his way to look after my cat, even emailing me while I was overseas (we had never met or spoken before) giving me updates. I would make this my regular vet, if not for the location, having to drive out to Palmerston with a cat in the car is somewhat inconvenient. Service quality wise though this is highly recommended, if you love your pet.
