Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Litchfield Vet highly enough. The level of care, compassion, and professionalism I experienced was truly outstanding. I’ve been in contact with Indy from Save a Paw regarding two little kittens, and her help has been simply fantastic. She went above and beyond my expectations — knowledgeable, responsive, kind, and genuinely dedicated to the wellbeing of the animals. It’s rare to find people who care this deeply and act so selflessly. If you’re looking for a vet clinic that truly puts animals first, this is the place. I would recommend them to absolutely everyone!

Fantastic experience: The care we received at Litchfield Vet during our dog’s emergency visit was incredible. Dr Clara and Indy were absolutely wonderful — calm, compassionate and reassuring during such a stressful time. They explained everything clearly and treated our dog with care. We’re so grateful for the kindness and professionalism shown to both us and our dog. Highly recommend!

Negative experience: Good vets but I feel slightly over priced . Always get a quotes and 2nd option saldy I didnt and just went ahead because of scare factor .I have now found a better vet with better price and care without the price tag

Fantastic experience: Our Cookie, 1.5 year old male Kelpie was injured badly on his left thigh and had to go through emergency surgery last Thursday. Dr. Cassie and team were extremely helpful and made sure Cookie get the treatment he needed as soon as we got there. It was a very stressful experience for us and Cookie but we couldn’t be happier with the service provided. Dr. Cassie shown such a lovely compassion towards her fur patients and helped us navigate the best option for the surgery & aftercare while putting so much thoughts into the costs pawrents need to bear. Although she was only filling in for another vet at this clinic, but we are thrilled that Cookie was handled by Dr. Cassie and pretty sure that Cookie feel the same.

Fantastic experience: Got my little dog in at little notice. Such wonderful caring people The vets, nurses and office staff couldn't have been more caring. Definitely rate them 5/5. costing very reasonable as well.

Positive experience: Well priced for some things but other things very expensive for other things compared to other local vets.

Fantastic experience: My little Milly was a rescue dog that had a broken hip, possibly as a result of having been bashed or hit by a car. She would have faced a painfully short and difficult life without the expertise of the Litchfield Veterinary Hospital that gave her a new hip and a new lease on life. She is a very different dog now, and I cannot speak highly enough of this practice. It was very obvious that the team here is totally committed to the best care it can offer to distressed animals (and distressed owners). Milly and I are very grateful.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing service, I will forever be grateful for dr Brenna and her team that helped with my puppies after they ingested something toxic after hours. They made sure my boys had a peaceful painless passing and gave me the right advice for my other pups. Thankfully they are all okay and on the mend. Fantastic experience: Not being from Darwin I was recommended Litchfield Vets from a local friend. I had to put my beautiful dog Rama down and the empathy and professionalism shown by the team really helped on this difficult day. I popped back in a week later to pick up the condolence card that couldn’t be posted as travelling around. It came with a little jar of her fur and a lovely message. Highly recommend

Positive experience: We took our 15yo female Tibetan Terrier in for various issues due to her age. They kept her for two nights and did their best for her. Sadly, we had to put her to sleep. Brenna and staff were wonderful and caring through the whole process. Can't speak highly enough of them.

Negative experience: We had a C1 and C5 vaccination for our little dog. He became ill after that and stopped eating and hardly drinking. He was being sick. We took him to the vet who said his glucose level was through the top of the chart. They said the cause was a mystery. We were advised that he should be kept with them overnight for observation and testing. We discovered the next day that no one stayed overnight to observe and nurse him as the vet said no one stayed. I was then charged for nursing care as well as the cost of testing him although the nursing care was was not given overnight as we expected. We were advised that he would need to be put down when we called again,as his condition didn't improve when he came home for the next night. We never gave him anything that would have raised his glucose level so high. We were heartbroken to have him put down. We then got an email a day later asking us if we want to pay around $800 for a treatment for our other dog. There was one short throw -away sentence at the end of the email saying sorry for the loss of our other dog. Not even a card was given to us by the vets. When we visited the vets a day later there was no mention from the staff to us about the loss of our dog Scooter. Its like they forgot he existed.

Fantastic experience: This vet service may aswell save my dog's life. I had 2 dogs, unfortunately they were both poisoned. One of them dropped dead not too long after ingestion the posion and the other one got extremely sick. By the time I found her I was fairly certain she was going to die, but I didn't give up hope and looked after her until the next morning. Upon seeing she survived the night. I took her straight to the local vet. Now 2 days later she seems like her normal self again sad her friend wasn't destined to survive. I'm happy to have my best friend of 6.5 years back in almost the same condition she was in before she got sick. Well and truly miracle workers. Worth every cent. Price was very reasonable aswell

Fantastic experience: i was quite nervous about going to a vet like this. Rabbits are usually cared for and are considered “exotic pets”. Mistreatment and misunderstandings are common for rabbits leading to more... unfortunate events :( but... this place surprised me with their kind staff and excellent vet service. my rabbit is super happy with this place and will keep coming back here for the far future. :)

Negative experience: My good friends dog has really bad arthritis in both her front paws - her nails/claws are 3-5cm long. He has had enjections, pills etc to help with her swallow paws. When she walks all her toes spread sideways due to such long nails. I'm not a vet, but don't need to be to see the obvious issue - cut nails/ claws, then every step won't twist the toes sideways, therefore prevent swallow feet & arthritis issues - not rocket science!!!! EXTREMELY VBAD VET CARE !!!!!! Sorry, just checked - nails are 5-7cms long !!! Poor dog !! Bad care on so many levels.

Fantastic experience: My wife and I have had dogs all our lives so we've both been to many vets. One of our dogs was bitten by a dugite, one had a malignant sarcoma and they both survived through vet's care in Perth. Since arriving in Darwin, we've only been to Litchfield, cannot fault them: professional, caring and they've done what neefed to be done to help our doggies.

Fantastic experience: Recently I had to put my 16 yo best buddy down due to cancer. The staff were tremendous and had a little room with candles and flowers going while we put him to sleep. Today I got the nicest surprise in the mail from the clinic with a sympathy card, beautiful condolences inside and his paw prints!!! I cannot thank the staff enough for helping me through this sad time

Fantastic experience: Excellent customer service and the doctor Stecy and staff are very helpful. My dog is very calm and behave well. I think because of the veterinary office is set up well, especially the room provide and the tone of their voice of the nurse and doctor was very nice and soft voice which my dog Cooper calm down and not nervous at all (that's the main reason why). Highly recommended and the price is reasonable especially for Sunday service. Excellent service and I highly recommended to everyone.

Not only did they care for my boy who is terribly nervous due to previous vet experiences but they also ensured me everything was going to be ok. They called me to see how we were doing and as we had to decide on surgery they informed me well of the procedure and took in to consideration everything I was concerned about!! Beautiful people, I can’t thank them enough for their love and care!!

Fantastic experience: My tiny elderly maltese-shihtzu grew a cycst overnight and 2 days before our planned Christmas roadtrip. Although they had no appointments available we were able to drop Molly off for a check-up between appointments. The cyst was cleaned up and removed, and cost $201. We were pleased with the service at the last-minute and the price!

Fantastic experience: Rescued a pheasant coucal and brought it to this place. The staff was very helpful.

Negative experience: Very poor service from vets and nurses at the counter went to get my dogs vaccinated 6 months ago with them and was majorly disappointed by their lack of customer service and patience. When we changed veterinarians we found out that they gave our dogs a vaccination off market with no information on the consequences of this. Then when approached the secretary told us a blatant lie she then compared our dogs to children NO apology and NO empathy please be aware of this dodgy vet

Old age catches up with us all. RIP Chewie. There are no words to express our appreciation for the kindness shown. We were treated with such compassion and caring. Positive experience: Litchfield Veterinary Hospital does a first rate job. My only concern as with most Veterinary services these days is that they want to desex anything that moves without concern for the animal or its owner. Yes there are some valid reasons for deleting animals, but there are also just as many reasons not to desex animals. Do your own research and insist that the vet actually tells you the future short and long term consequences that can arise from especially deleting at a very young age 12 weeks up to 1 1/2 years.

Fantastic experience: I had previously been going to another local well known vet in Parap but when things very sadly went downhill really fast for my beautiful greyhound last Sunday in the early hours of the morning I called Litchfield and an on call vet nurse came to meet me at the surgery at 1 a.m. to do absolutely everything she could for my beautiful boy who was just in so much pain. The nurse was visibly affected by his distress and it was clear these people really care about animals. After exhausting all options I very sadly had to let him go the next morning. The respect and support forwarded to me by both the staff and the nurses was second to none. There was no rushing, no discussion of finances, just the time and space I needed to let him go. Today I have received the most beautiful bereavement card with a photo of my boy's paw print with sympathy from the Litchfield vets and nurses. Speechless. If you want the best for your fur babies this is the place for you.
