Negative experience: Not quite sure I will be back to this vet. I called to ask just in case before I booked my cat in for annual vaccination if they were willing to inject in the arm rather than back of the neck. I recently learnt about feline injection site sarcoma (FISS) and there is research and new recommendations to inject in the skin of the arm so in the chance of the aggressive sarcoma there is a higher chance of survival by amputation. The reception lady who received a call seemed to doubt me a lot by saying “where did you hear that from”, “chatGPT?”, which I found to be very rude. Even after I told her about the research she just said I will let the vet know, but the doctor will DEFINITELY not inject into anywhere but beckons the neck. This makes me aware that this place is stubborn in its professionalism, even being a veterinary clinic they are unwilling to provide what is new evidence for the safety of our family. My cat is important and I will not let her into a place that doesn’t view her the same. Their excuse is ‘the back of the neck has the most skin’, sigh… they seem to do what is convenient for them only.

Negative experience: We brought our 13 year old cat to this clinic for euthanasia recently and, while the vet and staff were quite friendly, we were disappointed by the lack of transparency. Despite calling and asking for a quote beforehand, at the checkout (after the procedure) we were surprised by an additional $25 fee for the sedative. This fee was not disclosed to us at any point, and we were not given the choice whether to administer the sedative - just told it would be done. Needing to pay after laying your pet to rest is already hard enough, and this was just salt in the wound. Furthermore, we opted for the vet to bury our cat after the operation. However, it was not disclosed at the time that this would be a communal burrial, with many pets being dumped into a single hole in Shaol Bay with no way of finding the exact burial site. I understand why this needs to be the case, I only wish it had been clearly communicated to us beforehand as we likely would have preferred to bury him ourselves if we knew.

Negative experience: While Nightcliff Veterinary Clinic has received good reviews, I have found that the prices are not lower than those at Parap Veterinary Hospital—both are quite overpriced. Furthermore, when booking a home appointment, payments are not handled through a secure online system. Instead, clients are required either to attend the clinic in person to make the payment, or to provide full bank or credit card details over the phone to a staff member. This process compromises client privacy and data security, and in my view does not meet the professional standards expected from a veterinary service.

Fantastic experience: Couldn’t recommend the team here more - we’ve been using them for the past two years and always feel so well looked after. We have an anxious/reactive dog and they are so accomodating, ensuring the visit is never difficult or stressful. Dr always takes the time to really listen to us and explain everything clearly. Just a true good old fashioned vet practice - no nonsense and down to earth.

Fantastic experience: In my opinion, by far the best value for money and best care given to our dogs in Darwin. Nightcliff Veterinary Clinic genuinely cares about both yours and your pets needs and provides a great no bullshit service. A+++++

I started taking my dog to him 5 or 6 years ago when my dog lacerated her face and he helped me after hours and took her to him since. She sadly passed away but I have two kittens now and still go to Tasman. Definitely the vet to choose if youre in Darwin.

Fantastic experience: One of the best vets I have ever been to. If you are looking for a vet in Darwin please go to Dr Tasman Chin, you will not be disappointed. Reasonable fees. Dr Tasman takes time and really cares about your pet. I first saw Dr Tasman Chin with my French Bulldog, I had been using a different clinic but felt that there was something wrong with my dog and my vet was not listening to my concerns. I was recommended Dr Tasman. The initial appointment with Dr Tasman was extremely thorough, he took the time to listen to my concerns and complete some investigations. I was with him for a long time, he only charged us a standard appointment fee! My dog hated visiting vets but Dr Tasman was gentle and patient. After testing Dr Tasman referred my dog to a specialist, sadly he was very sick (with cancer) and passed away. I wish that I had used Dr Tasman earlier. I have since welcomed a cat into my home and use Dr Tasman as my vet. He is extremely gentle and kind when treating my cat. Top notch vet! Really cannot recommend him enough.

Fantastic experience: Can't recommend this vets more, my dog is an anxious dog and the vet made her so comfortable getting to know her a little first and checking in if she was OK through the whole appointment. He had even put us in at the end of his day so that there were no other dogs around to help my dog stay calm and even tho we were the last appointment he didn't rush, he took his time, gave us lots of advice for after care and genuinely cared about our dog. Pricing was also very reasonable, would go back there again. Thank you

He takes time to listen, answer your questions and genuinely cares about your pet’s health and well-being. I’ve learnt so much about my dog just after my first visit with him. I witnessed first hand them go above and beyond for one of my dearest friends with putting down her very much loved cat. So I vowed I would use them next time. Tasman was so gentle with my male dog. He wasn't there to upsell me other things or procedures. He examinaed my shitzu Maltese thoroughly who can be cranky but seemed very at ease. The end cost was so cheap. He really does love animals. Negative experience: After almost 3 years consulting this vet I got enough! I guess he is victim of his own success. Always overbooked and seems short of staff and forget about an emergency. You’ll get an appointment days away if you are lucky.

Fantastic experience: Love Dr Chin. I called urgently after work one day when the puppies got into some rat and cockroach poison throughout the day. He answered the phone and told me I could pick up some tablets for them. I got there and he was waiting for me with the tablets ready despite some patients waiting for their appointments. Didn't have to wait one second for help during the emergency. Have recommended him to all friends.

Fantastic experience: Cant reccomend this vet enough and definately care about their patients. Dr Tasman Chin is one of the nicest vet doctors we have come across. Each time weve called up they have fitted us in the last minute before close not saying we would have to wait next day or anything which is such a relief with past vets we have experienced. My young 2 month old chickens are sick and unfortunately we had to put one down. He explained the process and it gave me comfort. He even held and carried her as we paid and left.

He was extremely caring and took the time to explain everything to us giving us different options. Our dog had to stay at the clinic for 2 nights, all the while Dr Tasman phoned to update us on her progress. The after care has been amazing and the price was extremely reasonable. Highly recommend.
