Positive experience: Good Vets. Very caring and considerate.

Positive experience: Not the best when it comes to returning calls for information. But they give accurate information and are quiet friendly and where really good when it came to sendingy furbuddy off with a nice quiet room and a candle and comfortable bed for him to lay on.

Fantastic experience: We can’t thank Darwin Vet Hospital enough for the care and concern they gave our 5 month old Coker spaniel when she was admitted for an unknown illness. Poppy was there for 6 days before we were able to bring her home and every day we received morning phone calls, late afternoon visits and updates. Everyone was amazing but I want to give a special thank you to Anna who cared for Poppy on the weekend and was with us during the week as well. Also to Adam who sat with me with tissues and calmly talked through options. An amazing team I would recommend over and over. Thank you

Negative experience: alright, honest review. thank you for putting my dog out of his suffering due to cane toad poisoning on Sunday, but audibly laughing in the other room after euthanising someone’s best friend is pretty unprofessional. then telling us we were “lucky you were there” as we were on the way out was a strange thing to say. also, you should have a sign on the door that shows if you have emergency veterinarians present, not just a sign that says “Sunday - CLOSED). it’s a bit misleading in a situation when time is of the essence. Thank you again for your assistance, just some things to consider.

Fantastic experience: Our girl has a medical emergency, we took her to this vet clinic. They saw her very quickly, and diagnosed the problem immediately. Doctor Anna and Doctor Adam perform life saving surgery, and our dog is recovering well. We also like to thank all the staff, who gave a wonderful care and attention to our girl. This clinic was professional and efficient, also very caring. We are very thankful for everyone's help there. Definitely recommend this clinic.

Fantastic experience: My very sick dog was given outstanding attention and treatment. Adam was professional and compassionate as we discussed options. His willingness to go the extra mile in working with my dog and providing me with updates was fantastic. Would highly recommend this vet clinic.

Negative experience: Our experience with this clinic was deeply distressing and we would not recommend their services. The expertise of the veterinary staff appeared limited, and important diagnostic blood test results were not appropriately assessed or acted upon. In our case, this failure contributed to the untimely death of our beloved cat. During our final visit, the level of care and compassion shown to both our cat and to us as owners was extremely poor. While we were still saying hurried goodbyes with our cat on our lap, an EFTPOS machine was placed in front of us to process payment for a rushed euthanasia procedure. This added significant distress at an already traumatic moment. Following the event, we lodged a formal complaint with the clinic. The owners reviewed the care provided and judged it to be adequate, and we were told that the delayed treatment was the responsibility of the owner. We found this response cold and callous to say the least. We subsequently submitted a complaint to the NT Veterinary Board. Their investigation found misconduct by the primary treating veterinarian, who was formally cautioned. This has been an incredibly painful experience, and we share this review so other pet owners can make informed decisions when seeking veterinary care.

Fantastic experience: A huge thank you to the entire team at Darwin Vet Hospital. We rushed our little fella in for an emergency late on a Saturday night to be greeted by Dr Adam. Adam is a very kind and supportive vet who did not rush us, took the time to go through everything and even attempted to draw pictures to explain everything. We picked up Maverick very late that night and Adam kept in touch throughout everything. Maverick needed surgery which Adam was not confident in doing but did not stop until he found someone that could, calling multiple other vets and specialist. Everyone from the front receptionist, nurses and especially Adam were all amazing. We ended up having to go through Parap vet's as there was surgeon there that could perform what we needed. As long as I am in Darwin this vet will be my first choice.

Fantastic experience: “Huge thanks to Dr. David for the amazing care he gave Hoover yesterday! He took the time to explain all the neutering options and helped us decide on trying the Suprelorin implant first, to see the impact before considering surgical neutering. He even did the implant on the spot, and was more than happy to answer all my other general health questions with so much patience. Never felt rushed, just really cared for. Highly recommend Dr. David if you’re after a vet who truly goes above and beyond!”

Fantastic experience: 2021 I had a very sick puppy this veterinary practice saved her 2025 July Amber is now 5 years old and over excersion hurt a front leg muscle. Really great Vet Anna took the time and I feel really happy with there knowledge and skills. Highly recommended

Negative experience: We were unfortunately forced into using this vet service as they were the on call vet when our dog was poisoned. Emergency vet treatment was delayed because they “need $500 prior to starting working on him”. They were unable to establish an IV line, therefore our boy was unsaveable - but died alone because they didn’t allow us into the room with him. They then charged us for medications that were “attempted to be used” - there was no IV line established, but still happily charged us for UNTOUCHED medications. When we went in to see him the next day to say our goodbyes, we had to ask 3 times, we were sushed into a corner on the first, then rushed into a consultation room to discuss options the second, then made to pay the outstanding bill the third, which is when we became emotionally distressed & then got told to “stop being aggressive” & the vet then treated to “cancel the autopsy”. We got charged”overnight care fees” for our deceased dog. We got charged another consultation fee for attending the next day to tell them how we wanted to proceed with the “disposal” of our dogs body - we had to explain to the vet that he was our family & wasn’t being “disposed”. Not to mention, the autopsy itself cost $150 per animal, but with the mark up of “admin fees” from this vet the total is $395 per animal. Would encourage anyone, if you have the option to, choose ANOTHER vet service. This service is money hungry, they don’t care about the animal or the family of the animal. I am 1000% certain had our usual vet service been open on this particular weekend our boy would not have died alone.

Fantastic experience: Best vets in darwin!!! Treated our beloved ling ling for cancer and done all we could!! And Atm treating our moxie with severe kidney disease giving him the best options!! The vets here are compassionate and educated at what they do, and I highly recommend bringing your furbabys here!! Animals they look after my ride & die chewy

Negative experience: Very expensive! 45% mark up on a standard Cytopoint injection. The medicine itself was $222, opposed to $155 at other vets. It did not occur to me to ask for the price before booking because I thought it's the same everywhere for routine medicine widely used in Darwin. 45% more than other vets, that's excessive and unjustified!!!! I feel totally ripped off :(

Fantastic experience: Used the afterhours service due to my dog being attacked. Vet was wonderful, did not make me feel like I was an inconvenience or ruined her Sunday night. Service was amazing and so friendly especially to my poor injured doggy.

The cost was better than expected due to this month’s dental discount and that was very much appreciated! You guys have also given great care to our two dogs previously too!

Fantastic experience: Kudos to the receptionist as she was very accomodating! The vet too was very nice and reassuring that our pet was ok after 2 visits because he was not having a good stomach for many weeks. We forgot to take a picture of my poodle's p××, so we asked them if we could just send a picture and they could have a look at it to which they said we can do it anytime through their email. Luckily, my pet p××pped when we got out of the clinic and still they accomodated our request to have a look if my pet's p×× was back to normal without hesitation and further charges.

Fantastic experience: My dog got incredibly ill on a Saturday evening. Unfortunately she needed to be put down Darwin Veterinary Hospital took us at short notice so that she could get the green dream. They explained the process and gave us as long as we wanted before administering the medication. They had a box of chocolates so your dog xan experience chocolate before passing . A couple of weeks after my dog passed we recieved a hand written card from the clinic offering sympathy for the passing of my dog. Great service.

Negative experience: I took my cat here for the second time today to have her front nails trimmed. On both occasions I was not allowed to be in the room with her. The first occasion I assumed was due to covid restrictions, however these are no longer in place. It’s very disappointing to not be in the room with one of the few living creatures I actually care about while she is in distress. We will go to Parap vet in the future as they were amazing with my other cat.

Fantastic experience: A few months ago while travelling our beloved cat was sick to the point of having to put her down. We were in Darwin on holidays and went here for advice. The staff were amazing and very sympathetic. They let my husband stay with her till the end. They looked after her until we could organise cremation. We arrived back in South Australia to a lovely card and 2 little prints of her paws. We can't thank the staff enough for everything they did even if we weren't regular clients.

Fantastic experience: Many thanks to Dr.Rachel, Nurse Mellisa, admin Alex, and the other nice lady in Admin. I had to put my good boy to sleep on Easter Saturday, to end his suffering and confusion, the grief is immeasurable, their kind and empathetic words has helped enormously. Dr. Rachel's bedside manner was very comforting. Thank you so much.

Fantastic experience: I've been going here for years. Ever since big John was the man. The new owners, I don't know anything about, but their staff are amazing. Compassionate, engaging and just generally beautiful human beings. They have helped me with everything from vaccinations to over night stays with operations. Truly proffesional bunch of people that deserve to be called angels. Me and Moose won't go see anyone else. Their the only vets a working class bloke like me can go with his heeler without being looked down upon. I could ramble for ages, but you get the idea, they're the best, go see them if you can.

Fantastic experience: These guys are really excellent. They have always taken excellent care of our dogs. Recently my oldest dog was diagnosed with cancer and she deteriorated very quickly and was in too much pain for me to get her to the vets. These guys organised someone to come to our house to put her out of her pain (this was I believe, Angela, who runs her own business called Peaceful Pets that offer this service). She was great. This all occurred about a month ago and then last night I received a sympathy card from these guys with another piece of paper with my deceased dogs paws prints on it. Really lovely. Thanks to all of you. You're great.

Fantastic experience: I had always been a long term client of another well known vet clinic. This clinic, I came to after my dispute with the other clinic. They performed surgery on my dog & put a little Bandana on her after. They were responsive and had such high care for my dog but also let me make an informed decision about not getting additional tests etc. My dog has another surgery coming up & again they have showed the best care in regards to this matter. They weren’t pushy about the surgery but allowed me to know the risks involved. I 100% would recommend this clinic. Always professional and lovely people to deal with. I have FULL trust in regards to the care of my animals Picture is my doggo with the bandana they gave us! (After recovery of course)

Fantastic experience: Taking your furry friend to the Vet can be an emotional experience at the best of times but the friendly welcome by the DVH staff when you arrive just sets the scene for the professional service they provide. Special mention to Dog Doctor Sophie and her genuine caring and thorough procedural manner. You have certainly made a new friend in our dog PNut, she enjoyed your attention...and the treats...thanks again, we highly recommend the DVH for anything with feathers, scales or fur....

Fantastic experience: We took our girl Jane there after she was diagnosed with breast cancer by another vet. We have 5 animals, and the other vet (maybe not gonna mention which one right now) literally always overcharges and gives ridiculous prices. It seems they are all about the money, so we went to this vet now and we got away much cheaper and everyone there seems so friendly and caring. Our girl had the surgery (very well done) and they kept her out of concern over night and we were still within a better budget even though she was “hospitalised”. They didn’t exceed the estimate they gave us. We also came for revisits about 5 times and have never been charged a single time for each after-surgery visit. All the women vets we had contact with (annie, sarah and another lovely blond lady) were super good and friendly and caring every time they saw our little girl. Jane is doing so well after the surgery and she is very happy now. We moved all our 5 animals to this vet now. Thank you for doing a great job. (Also a shout out to the front desk girls :-*)

Fantastic experience: We took our very old and unwell fur family member here recently, the vet was caring and compassionate. She was honest about our old boys treatment options and used her knowledge and experience to determine the best outcome instead of pushing us into doing loads of expensive testing. Unfortunately for us, our dog will need to put to sleep, the vet offered to do a house call so that he can be in the comfort and security of his own home when we let him go.

Positive experience: Great and compassionate staffs, could not do enough for my very sick pet, recommended for sure.

Negative experience: Took my cats in for a check up. Extremely unprofessional and did not run any tests. Instead charged us through the teeth and gave us an extremely harsh sedative to stop them from stress licking. Not somewhere I will go again.

Fantastic experience: Always good service. Plus, they seem to time appointments so there's never too many people/animals in the waiting room. So, if your little darlings are a bit weird with people, or other animals, it's easier to deal with.

Negative experience: Took my 12 week old pup in with bleeding from the mouth. They told me she should be right by the next day. So we made a bed for her near us in our bathroom. I woke the next morning to check on her. Blood everywhere and my poor girl had died.

Positive experience: Good Vet Surgery. Thorough examinations and they explain all the options. Very caring, clean exam rooms.
