Fantastic experience: I can’t recommend this clinic enough. Lost my girl on her 17th birthday on the 1st of January. They were so kind. I haven’t had good experiences with vets in the past so it was just a better experience. They went above and beyond.

Fantastic experience: Staff are amaing very caring and very supporting .special when your pets are sick or at end of life .support vets and nurses have given my family with laying little nugget and max to sleep when they were 14 years old and there little soul s couldnt go on .the empathy the staff have is same as human in last stage of life they took the pain away and keep them comfortable as just beatuiful they were not just dogs they were family .time we were allow to spend with out pets wasnt pushed out door once they past.and candle burns out front desk for every love one who passaway. It called respect . Fantastic experience: Our miniature schnauzer became very unwell over the weekend. McIvor Rd Vets Saw him promptly and provided timely expert care. He ended staying up with them for four nights. They communicated with us at least three times a day to let us know how he was going and we were able to visit him during the day whenever. Through the care they provided, our little man recovered and is back to normal.

Fantastic experience: Mcivor Rd vet was our go to vet for our dog, they were always very pleasant to deal with, always felt the quality of care was outstanding and could never say anything other than positive things about everyone there. From the reception staff to medical staff. Unfortunately we had to have our dog put down recently and honestly for such a difficult and unimaginable time they were very clear, concise, caring and straight forward with us. Once again not a single thing they could of done better. Today I received a card from them expressing their condolences for our dog. It was a very unexpected but extremely thoughtful touch. Highly recommend them and will definitely be using them again in the future when we get another pet. I really can't speak highly enough of the whole team.

Fantastic experience: We had our little Dachshund, Gustav treated at the clinic, he also had an overnight stay. We cannot recommend this clinic enough! Each and every staff member are incredibly empathetic and kind. Rachel was our first port of call, and absolutely lovely, she made us feel so much more at ease! We couldn't be happier at the outcome for our furbaby either. Professional care of the highest standard, with warmth, kindness and honesty thrown in too. We can't thank them enough!

Fantastic experience: We had to make the heartbreaking decision to put down our beautiful Labrador, Chester, after 11 wonderful years — a decision no one ever wants to make. It was an incredibly difficult time, but Dr Mark at McIvor Road Veterinary Centre was truly incredible. He was kind, gentle, and took the time to explain the whole process so we felt supported and understood. He recognised how difficult the decision was and needed to be, and his calm reassurance helped ease some of the pain. The care he showed — right down to the small touches like giving Chester a treat until the very last moment — meant the world to us. His compassion made a really hard day just that little bit easier. We’re so grateful to McIvor Road Veterinary Centre for the respect and love they showed Chester and our family.

Fantastic experience: As one of the nurses at the emergency clinic run through McIvor road, a high standard of care is a huge priority for me. There’s no where else I would want to take my dogs on weekdays other than McIvor Road! The vets are knowledgeable, passionate, compassionate, honest and patient comfort always comes first. The nurses/reception as a whole are so highly skilled, very efficient, and go above what is needed to make patients comfortable and loved on. They are so dedicated, patient focussed, and I always know that my two trouble making Golden Retrievers are in the most capable and kind hands possible. They go above and beyond every single time. Thank you so much for loving on my girls, and always going all out to get to the bottom of the issues. I appreciate every single one of you, as do my dogs.

Fantastic experience: So impressed with this vet. Had a terrible expierience taking my dog to a different vet in bendigo so I booked in here for a second opinion. All of the staff were kind and friendly, from booking my appointment over the phone to attending. The nurses were so kind and gentle with my dog, the vet was so compassionate and very informative. He listened to my concerns and was very honest from the get go, referred me to a specialist and was all round very gentle and thorough. Very thankful for their time

Negative experience: I took my cat in on Christmas Day with what i thought was a sprained shoulder. The female emergency vet on that day lacked compassion and any form of customer service. She treated both my cat and myself like an inconvenience and then suddenly decided to grow a heart when she realised my cat had a blood clot caused by an undiagnosed heart disease. She called my cat dramatic for crying out and trying to get away from her and I do not blame my cat for a second for not wanting to be anywhere near that woman. I regret every day not asking for a different vet to double check or take over as that experience was so incredibly awful. While she became somewhat kinder once telling me that there was no fixing the problem and i would have to say my final goodbyes to my cat, it should not take a bad diagnosis to be kind. It was Christmas Day, I was concerned about my cat, I didn’t particularly want to be there either. I sincerely hope she either chooses a new career path, grows a heart and some compassion and/or that I never deal with her again. I would like to add that the nurse who assisted on Christmas night was lovely and clearly loves animals. She cuddled my cat and was comforting to both her and I in those final moments & I am forever grateful for her. Furthermore, my father recently took our family dog in to be checked due to her arthritis and while asking to trial one last medication before we make the difficult decision to put her to sleep, the vet was extremely rude and once again lacked compassion. My father acknowledged the next step would be to say goodbye and the vet said “well the sooner the better” as though we don’t know that our dog is in her final stages. It is already such a god awful thing to go through and decide on I don’t know what on earth made her feel that was an appropriate thing to say. There had to have been a better way to have that conversation and she chose the most heartless route. I do not know if this was the same vet, but it’s almost more concerning if it wasn’t because it means there are at least two people on your staff who are exceptionally average human beings who should not be customer facing. Please have a look at the people you employ and consider some training for tough conversations, customer service & showing compassion in distressing and gut wrenching times.

Fantastic experience: Good place to take your pets to when there not well.

Negative experience: We had a terrible experience with McIvor Rd Veterinary Centre. Our dog was in critical condition—he couldn't move, and we were desperate for help. When we called, they put us on hold for 10 minutes while our dog was suffering. That kind of delay in an emergency is completely unacceptable. When every second counts, a vet clinic should be responsive and prioritize urgent cases. We were extremely disappointed and would not trust them in a life-or-death situation again.

Fantastic experience: What a fantastic veterinary clinic this is I was referred to Dr. Senura De Silva for surgery on my Popp’s subluxation of her patella’s. Dr De Silva has the most amazing bedside manner, and a quiet and gentle confidence. Poppy had both knees done, and her progress has been amazing. Cannot speak highly enough. The reception staff and Vet nurses all helpful and friendly. Also got reduction as a pensioner.

Fantastic experience: Have brought my cat Olaf here twice and the staff are lovely and courteous. Especially for a first time fur mum. All the guidance and Information about his needs was invaluable The reception staff are lovely and professional Olaf was treated with compassion and care (and so was I ) We're looking forward to his next appointment

Negative experience: I wouldnt recomend this vet to any 1. All there after is your money. They dont care about your pet. This place has caused more damaged to pets than any 1. As long as they can get your money there happy. If you love your pet take my advise and do not bring it here.

Fantastic experience: The facility is lovely, clean and bright. My son loves the fish tank in the waiting area. I found every vet and every reception person to be so wonderful. I dealt with about 4 vets there because my beautiful Jaffa got sick quick and we had to put her sleep here. From the very first visit, to explaining what was wrong to the actual visit where 2 of the team put her to sleep, I felt so supported, cared for and held in my decisions and my grief. They really care about your pet here. I had been to another vet locally and didn't get the same level of expertise and they also didn't have the equipment to fully explore what was wrong. So I recommend this clinic with all my heart.

Fantastic experience: Our Golden Retriever had ACL surgery here around 3 years ago. The service was perfect then. I needed the details and X-ray results from this surgery. I cannot recommend the receptionist today more highly. Something I thought was going to be time consuming and annoying was handled in the most courteous and respectful manner. It only took minutes and the required information was provided. 10 out of 5 stars to this staff member. Very much appreciate your diligence, well done.

Fantastic experience: Dr Catherine was thorough, caring, gentle and was highly motivated and effective. I had a need to phone the next day with a question, and received highly respectful care, again. The receptionist was outstanding, showing genuine interest. Impressive performance on all counts. It was not cheap, but quality.

Fantastic experience: I whole heartedly recommend Mcivor Rd Veterinary Centre. The care they showed my beloved Pug Jake and the compassion they had for me was out standing. My little pugger was in a bad way, and the consistency in care, (with weekend Central Vic Emergency) and knowledge they had was amazing. Explaining to me what care and treatment is required and what my options were. Never once did I feel pressured, and though I knew the cost were going to be high (he was in a really bad way) they discussed the different payment options available and walked me through them. They solely focused on the health and safety of my furbaby, and i will be forever grateful.

Negative experience: Worst emergency vet to grace Bendigo. Knew we were coming, had a cat literally dying in our arms. Waited ten minutes for someone to show up to the reception desk, too busy laughing about something in the back room. Cat died there while waiting. I suppose we should be grateful there's even an emergency vet in Bendigo at all, but when this is the choice? Pray your animal isn't injured after hours of your regular vet.

Fantastic experience: I couldn’t recommend the team at McIvor Rd Vet more!, the level of professionalism and care was amazing. My family have taken our animals to the team here and have felt cared for from the moment you walk in the door, they update you throughout your pets appointment and allow you to check in however many times you’d like!. Negative experience: We would like to share our experience with McIvor Veterinary Centre, 'which is extremely low' our 16 mth Sheppard Heidi was involved in a vehicle accident emergency 'which I'm ashamed to say it was my fault' we are not questioning the emergency response for Heidi, ' especially the response vet Emma' absolutely fantastic, although from the time of first emergency, we were demanded $800 to even continue any further treatment. Then handed a treatment plan estimate of $2,200 less our $800 deposit, Unfortunately Heidi eye needed to be removed ' her recovery was improving 100%,we understand that the damage was irreversible, or though the non communication from the centre in regarding to our concerns of the costing and affordability our baby 'Heidi is worth it" We felt like our baby Heidi was been held for ransom, we were not allowed to see her for 2 days before and after the surgery, We communication by our inquiry in relation to Heidi, the staff were rude, arrogant ,unprofessional and demanded the invoice to be paid once we walked in the door, so we asked for an itemised account that we were going to pay with asking to talk to management, which was arranged previously via-a phone conversation we wanted to question the process of the treatment which was $3,700 plus the $800, we were denied that privilege only to be informed by the receptionist at the time that it could have been over $6000 'think yourselves lucky' once we paid the invoice we we're allowed to see and hold our baby girl Heidi, it has been 2 days since Heidi's traumatic weekend ' and ours' we have not received any contact for the McIvor Rd Veterinary Centre, yes we are so happy to have her home on our property, BTW this Veterinary Centre is NOT a caring country vet, but a very exorbitantly over priced vet. We would not recommend this centre but saying that it's the only emergency vet that is 24/7 ' hopefully you don't have to go through what we have went through ". WE WELCOME ANY A PHONE CONVERSATION FROM MANAGEMENT TO DISCUSS OUR DISAPPOINTMENT WITH OUR BABY HEIDI, our contact details are on your records, we welcome a call from management , Not A RECEPTIONIST, BTW we had to reluctantly put a 1 star to comment. The care and compassion you showed looking after my gorgeous elderly boy Tyler right up the day I had to say goodbye with a broken heart . I am forever grateful for how you were so professional and took into consideration of how I was so devestated but I knew it was the right decision with your guidance. I received the most beautiful card of condolence from them saying how sorry they are with my loss of my beautiful boy. All the care you gave Tyler in previous months was amazing and I thank you all so much from the girls on the desk top all the staff and vets. Negative experience: Sorry to say, you get only one star, if there was a choice of no star, that's what I would give. Took our cat in on an emergency call as he was bitten by a snake and all they were concerned about was the payment. Was made to pay $900 before they would do anything, we did choose not to go with the antivenom as that alone cost $1200. I had a previous cat that survived with only an IV and pain killers. After 2 nights of being there, with no night monitoring, they said that we could take him home that he was eating and moving better.. after I paid another $900 before I could see him, he was the same as when he went in, so now having to take care of him myself. I will never take my pets there again.

Fantastic experience: Can't Thank them enough, had to rush my little Chihuahua in for emergency treatment on Sunday unfortunately she passed away on the way there they tried everything to revive her but sadly she couldn't be revived the team were so friendly and understanding and sympathetic, & the pricing was alot cheaper there & they do After pay which came in handy being a Sunday. Gone to the pack now..Inconsiderate and unhelpful.My dog was suffering. I have spent thousands over the years at that place never again

Negative experience: It sad to see the only good vet clinic in Bendigo are no longer compassionate and caring as once to to be. Not sure if it is under new management but find staff extremely rude and uncaring. Especially the younger nurses. Been going there for years but definitely not going back there again.

Fantastic experience: This time I gave them 5 stars, purely because I was treated differently to the last time we had to take my daughters cat there in an emergency. I'm not going into any detail about that last visit, except to say, that the last time, we got the worst receptionist that day. This time was about a pigeon I'd found on a footpath that I assume was hit by a car. It was in a bad state with lots of blood loss. It needed to be euthenised, rather than the poor thing slowly dying in pain. I'd driven to 3 vets that day, but all were closed, and it wasn't until I called McIvor Rd vet that I found out that it was the Bendigo Cup holiday. Anyway, I got a lovely person on the other end of the phone, and when in got there, I was treated really well...and the vet agreed it needed to be put to rest. I now have more respect for these guys, and knowing they're available if I find anything else that needs help, I'll go straight there.

Positive experience: Amazing care given to our boy, General. Thoughtful and understanding. Lovely staff, reception is wonderful. Our two always wait for public holidays to have something happen.

Negative experience: Younger Reception staff was extremely rude, doesn’t give you the time of day when “checking in”, then tries & “upsell’s” you when you’re not interested in your way out & then gets stroppy when your firm back to stop the awkward & pushy encounter. Unfortunately this particular “girl” ruined what had been a good experience with this place after a questionable experience years ago with Sue.

Fantastic experience: My experience with McIvor Rd Vet Clinic was very good. I normally don't attend this clinic but I had an emergency situation involving my dog and this was the only clinic with a vet on duty over the weekend. The service was prompt and timely. The vet, Sally, diagnosed the problem giving me clear guidance. "Bella" is now feeling much better so all good. I would certainly recommend McIvor Rd Vet Clinic if you have an emergency situation with your pet.

Fantastic experience: This vet is amazing, I’ve taken my puppy here since I got her. I advised concerns that my puppy was incredibly anxious in the vet, I raised concerns about this anxiety growing to fear aggression when she gets older. Since then, The vet techs/nurses, have made a massive fuss about her coming in; hyping her up, giving her cuddles and just overall boosting my puppy’s mood coming into the vet. Overall amazing team , always happy to help and answer questions. Would not go anywhere else!

Positive experience: Gorgeous staff who are very empathetic. This trip was to drop off a poor kitty that I had found in my local area abandoned and injured. For a service they were not paid for, they provided care for this beautiful stray and hopefully found her owners. Thankyou

Staff handled our girl expertly and although we had the worst news, we took all their knowledge, advice and meds and we still have our girl, who is getting better every day. Fantastic experience: The staff are extremely professional both in their knowledge and people skills. Unfortunately this turned out to be a very unexpected end of life consultation. The staff, in particular the vet, were exemplary in their handling of a very difficult and majorly confronting situation. Their kindness and compassion towards myself and my boy were first class. I was provided with sufficient information and explanation with my need to control the depth of both being completely respected. I was provided with total freedom to spend time with my boy before the procedure with the timing of the procedure laying with me which was very much appreciated. My heartfelt thanks to all of you. This clinic has the perfect balance of health care for the patient and the emotional needs of the human. Very highly recommended.

She explained everything so clearly and calmly that I immediately felt better. When I arrived, the vet knew what was happening and was so calm and quick to act that I knew my boy would be okay.
