Fantastic experience: The team at Toronga Vetinary hospital were amazing we took out black lab Ivy to see them because she was vomiting and has a history of IBD From the reception staff to the vet who examined her , discussed her treatment plan of blood tests and IV fluid the experience for us and for our girl was the best it could be . We saw the hospital room which was large and comfortable and the facility is wonderful So clean and state of the art A single facility offering everything your pet needs The staff were gentle kind and kept us informed throughout her short stay We will be using them going forward for the care of our dogs Can’t recommend enough Ivy came home better and not distressed at all Thanks to everyone ‍

Fantastic experience: On the afternoon of 8 February, I brought my beloved cat, Angel, to your clinic as an emergency case. We came to you because the emergency treatment he had received at VRH had shown no improvement at all. After the front desk checked us in, I hadn’t even finished filling out the forms when your Nurse Manager, Sam, asked me to bring Angel in for an examination straight away. During that initial assessment, she immediately recognised how unwell he was, and asked me to email Angel’s previous blood test results and hospitalisation summary to your clinic as soon as possible. After that, we waited for around 30 minutes, and then Dr Cristina came to see us. She was incredibly professional and thorough. She explained Angel’s condition in detail and clearly outlined three different options. Given how unwell he was at the time, and the fact that he was unlikely to tolerate surgery or chemotherapy, we ultimately decided to proceed with anti-inflammatory treatment and appetite stimulants, and to monitor him closely for two days. Dr Cristina also spoke with complete honesty and clarity: if there was no improvement after those two days, she advised me to seriously consider humane euthanasia. Even though nearly a month has passed, I am still deeply grateful for her transparent, decisive, and compassionate approach. It gave me a clear direction and helped me make decisions based on reality, rather than being left in uncertainty. This was critically important for both Angel and me — especially after our experience at VRH, where I felt false hope was given despite the situation being extremely serious. Another thing that truly touched me was the follow-up call from your staff on the morning of 10 February. When they learned about Angel’s condition and that I had made the decision to let him go peacefully, the kindness and comfort they offered meant more than I can express. Thank you sincerely for everything you did for Angel and for me during such a heartbreaking time. I would highly recommend your clinic to any pet owner who needs urgent emergency care for their beloved animal.

Fantastic experience: My dog, Danchu, suddenly became unwell on last Sunday night, and I was incredibly anxious as it was my first time dealing with such an emergency. From the moment we arrived, the team at AES Hawthorn East was exceptional. I was very impressed by their professionalism and kindness. They took the time to explain every procedure in detail, which really helped me stay calm during a very stressful situation. Even though Danchu can be quite a handful and a difficult patient to manage, the staff treated him with so much patience and care. What touched me even more was their dedicated follow-up. They reached out to check on Danchu’s recovery progress after we went home, which showed how much they truly care about their patients. I am sincerely grateful for the amazing support from the entire team. Danchu is now recovering well!

Fantastic experience: Took great care of my pup after hours. came in at 9:30 and was seen very quickly. explained the issue, diagnosis and treatment moving forward. was not expensive for an after hours emergency vet visit either. gus at the counter was incredibly polite and treated myself and my pup with respect. our nurse was awesome in triaging and thinking of my pups comfort and needs. our vet was exceptional in looking after her and catering to her. will be my go to for emergency visits moving forward!

Fantastic experience: Very pleased with the Hawthorn Animal Emergency - facilities are great, staff were professional and caring… and most importantly our dog was assessed and treated beautifully and with care. Wait time was not too long and although they were busy, we did not feel neglected! Great to know that we can get this care locally and 24 hours.

Fantastic experience: Both of my cats have had a midnight trip here, and I cannot speak highly enough of the staff on both occasions. Both times staff have been amazing and never made me feel like I was asking a dumb question. They even checked in after a few days to see how my cat was going after his visit. Truly invaluable to live in an area with 24/7 vet access

Fantastic experience: Hawthorn AES was absolutely phenomenal! This anxious dog parent felt instantly relieved when we called for some advice. On entering their clinic we were quickly seen and the professional friendly staff were so relaxed and caring. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for an emergency and have recommended it to every pet parent I know. I hope no one has to go and see an emergency vet in their life, but if you do, do yourself the favour and drive to the Hawthorn AES for beyond exceptional care!!!

Fantastic experience: My cat suddenly started urinating blood late at night, and I was extremely anxious, so I immediately took her to AES Hawthorn. The nurses quickly took her in for a basic examination, and the veterinarian provided a treatment plan based on her condition. When she didn’t improve the next day, I returned for a second consultation. The team was very patient, carried out another thorough check, and adjusted the treatment plan. Now my little cat is active and healthy again. I am truly grateful to the AES team for their professional care and support. Thank you so much for helping my cat recover!

Fantastic experience: Helped my kitty who had a tail injury who was in a lot of pain. Were very friendly and calm which eased my stress about him. They answered all my questions about how to take care of him and followed up after a few days. It wasn't as expensive as I was expecting at all either, only about $250 for the consult at 1am and another $100 for medicine and injection

Fantastic experience: My dog ate chocolate, the staff answered our call calmly and were very informative, easing our stress. We took her into the hospital and the vet induced vomiting, they were very experienced with this and my dog showed no symptoms of gastro or anything the next day! Fantastic experience: Was very impressed with this emergency vet practice. Easy to get to and park, and very attentive and caring staff. We were in and out very quickly with our issue resolved, leaving with a much happier puppy, couldn’t ask for more.

Negative experience: absolutely appalling the way my dog was treated in there. laying in her own blood all night, dirty bandages right next to her cage, her wounds were not flushed like they said they did. very disappointed with the service

Fantastic experience: Amazing experience with the team at AES Hawthorn East. We had a slight emergency on a Saturday evening with our dog Ernie and the team made our whole visit comfortable and as stress free as possible. We had a bit of a wait after we checked in but all team members updated us regularly on how we were travelling in the queue and making sure our dog was okay. While waiting we had a lovely conversation with Sophie who was looking after the front desk. We have a nervous dog and all 3 team members we were involved with put in extra effort to make sure he was comfortable and happy and got lots of pats. From the initial phone call to now 2 days later we have received the most genuine and attentive care. The whole team obviously love the work they do and care so much about the animals they treat. We left feeling confident in Ernie’s care and well informed about how to prepare ourselves if the same situation occurs in the future. They’ve checked in with me since we left to offer continued support and check how Ernie is post treatment. They also communicated our visit to our regular vet who has also reached out to us. It’s never a good feeling having an emergency out of regular vet hours but I highly recommend AES to anyone if that does happen. Thanks again team!!

Fantastic experience: Couldn’t get an appointment at our usual vet so booked here and were blown away with the amazing level of care and attention our sausage was given. I think it’s easy to say AES hawthorn east is our new go to VET very impressed

Fantastic experience: We rushed Jojo to AES with severe heatstroke, and by the time we arrived, it was touch and go. This team literally snatched Jojo back from death right in front of our eyes. Their speed, skill, and determination were nothing short of miraculous. We will never forget what they did. If you want heroes in scrubs, this is the place. Forever grateful.

Fantastic experience: I took my small 15 week old puppy here after she started vomiting up to 9 times and she was looked after in a timely manner and I was given options for recovery rather than just one answer which I really appreciated The vet was very warm and professional and I would absolutely go back if I have another emergency for my dog.

Fantastic experience: Last Sunday evening our dog Luna was bitten by a bee and had a severe reaction within minutes. We rushed her to Tooronga Veterinary Clinic and they attended to her immediately, giving her an injection straight away. Vet Tom was fantastic and clearly explained what to look out for afterwards, which was incredibly reassuring. Every staff member was friendly, calm, and so helpful during a very stressful situation. Corrie took the time to explain all options clearly, and her decision to perform an ultrasound first really helped me feel confident in making a difficult decision. They were kind and empathetic and kept us informed constantly. They really cared about her and showered her with love and cuddles. Can’t praise the care of her enough by the vets and staff. Fantastic experience: We brought in my boyfriend’s Groodle (Golden retriever/ Poodle) Molly in for a cracked tooth on Sunday. The staff were very attentive and took amazing care of her. Reception got us seen by the vet with only a 40 minute wait, and 15 minutes prior to seeing the vet (and with the vets approval) gave Molly pain relief to ease her pain. The vet was very thorough in our visit, and advised we get the tooth out due to the severity of the tooth’s cracking. Before going home she sent us with medication for Molly to get her through her wait period to the tooth extraction. Molly is a very happy pup now! We can’t thank the team enough for helping us out with her injury and giving us the best advice for her! Thank you all again for your amazing efforts! ❤️ I’ve attached 2 photos, 1 of her napping day after her tooth extraction and 1 of her tooth just before our local vet removed the tooth.

Fantastic experience: Amazing service! My cat was really sick on a Sunday. They saw her quite quickly, explained everything in detail and treated her for her illness. They admitted her to their hospital for 1 night and took amazing care of her. She was well into her recovery when I picked her up the following morning.

Fantastic experience: Took our 18 month old Border collie in the other morning, after getting a cut on his little ear. The vet’s could not have been anymore comforting and considerate if they tried. Fantastic experience: We took our Queenie in late one evening after a bad fall. They were very patient and reassuring when I was nervous about leaving her overnight, gave me options and were very transparent about costs. Most importantly they were kind and compassionate, with a genuine care for our girl. Thank you so much, she’s home and recovering well now.

Fantastic experience: Needed to take my old dog in urgently over the weekend, very thankful for the service provided. All staff were very friendly and put my mind at ease from the moment I walked in. Thankfully a fairly minor medical issue in the end, fixed with antibiotics. I also received a follow up text checking in on Josh which was lovely.

Fantastic experience: After watching this facility be built, I never imagined I’d one day need their services — but I’m so glad they were there when we did. Our beautiful pug, Lola, began having seizures and needed to be monitored overnight. From the moment we arrived, we were met by a calm, compassionate receptionist, followed by the most incredible emergency vet (I wish I knew her name). She explained everything so clearly – what could be happening and exactly how Lola would be cared for overnight — and in doing so, relieved an enormous amount of anxiety. I’ve never been more grateful. The team provided regular check-ins via text and were just as kind and reassuring when we returned to collect Lola. We were also told about their “open hospital” concept, where owners can visit and spend time with their animals. While we didn’t need to utilise this, I thought it was a truly beautiful option, especially for longer stays.

Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience bringing my dog, Boof, here. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, and the level of care Boof received was excellent. They were very thorough in explaining his at-home care and even followed up the next day to check on how he was going, which I really appreciated. It was clear they genuinely care about their patients. I highly recommend this clinic.

We didn't have to wait long, and my dear 17 year old dog was admitted to the hospital, expertly diagnosed and treated. He is doing really well. Fantastic experience: Thank you for looking after my Luna. I am so grateful for the conversation I had with your vet this morning. She said this to me - “Luna needs surgery to remove stones in her bladder. Now I’m being transparent here, I am very qualified to do this procedure and have a lot of experience doing it, however there’s a surgical team that are specialists in the field that can do the same procedure but can manage complications better should they arise. They are more expensive but it’s up to you who you would like doing Luna’s procedure.” Now why can’t all medical based professionals be like this to the specialists. This is proper INFORMED CONSENT. What an exceptional clinician to say that.

We didn’t have an appointment but the team were friendly and welcoming and took great care of Zara. She had an overnight stay and came home in the morning. Negative experience: My dog came home 10x worse i had to get a vet to come to my home to treat him for the damage the after hours clinic has done to him. He was given wsy to much of one of the drugs and now is continually Vomiting and has not stopped crying and whimpering all night , I paid $550 for my dog to come home no better and become dehydrated, before he went in he still had his appetite and was drinking normally now he won’t eat or drink and is dehydrated,I would not take him here again for any reason and when I contact them not once did they ask how he was doing now they just said someone from management will call me Monday and that if it had been under 24 hrs i could take him back for free … please as if Im going to let them anywhere near my dog again !

Fantastic experience: The vets, nurses, and receptionists were all incredibly attentive, kind, and empathetic to the patients and their owners. They handle and speak to the animals in their care as though they’re their own family pets. My cat Bryn received immediate, excellent veterinary treatment and made a full recovery from a medical emergency, I was able to stay and keep him company until I felt ready to leave and was given comprehensive updates and reassurance following that. This clinic is remarkable and were a huge relief for our whole family during this very stressful situation, I highly recommend them. Bryn is already getting right back to his normal self after arriving home last night!

Fantastic experience: Vet nurse, Kayla and Vet, Dr Tom were incredible. Arrived with my distressed, almost 10-year old dog at 2am and she was triaged then seen to within 1 hour when they were under the pump and managing with skeleton staff. The consultation was quick but very thorough. All options were explained to us very clearly with perfect ‘bedside’ manner. My dog left the hospital so much calmer, and we had clear instructions for acute and ongoing treatments for at home. So grateful for the quality of service.

Fantastic experience: A&E deliver a high standard of emergency care. The staff are warm, engaged and caring. Follow-up is excellent. It is the standard of service I expect.

Fantastic experience: I'm always wary of only five-star reviews, but AES receives them because they deserve them. It's a pet hospital, so you arrive stressed and frantic and the staff are so kind and gentle and understanding that you wish all hospitals were just like here. We arrived with a very poorly cat and the receptionist offered us seating away from the dogs in the waiting area without being asked. They explained that patients are triaged, so the vet might take awhile to get to us, but we didn't feel forgotten (and as animals came in with what seemed like broken limbs, it would have been easy to have forgotten our quiet little cat was there in all the kerfuffle.) The space isn't like the stereotypical vets, it's more mid-range corporate office and had no animal smell, or disinfectant smell, either. The staff never seemed rushed or out of control, even when on the phone as patients arrived. Possibly that's due to a combination of excellent training and careful hiring processes, but whatever, it works. And there is ample free parking, including under the building, which allows you to access the hospital via a lift. With diagnosis likely to take half the night, we left without our pet, heartbroken but confident she was in capable - and caring - hands. When we picked her up, the prognosis was not good, but the empathy was genuine and potential treatments were clearly explained. Services like this aren't cheap, but we'll go back in a heartbeat because the duty of care is evident in every interaction.

Fantastic experience: Having to call an emergency vet on a Saturday night at 1am was stressful and a horrible feeling. They answered almost straight away, talked calmly about what was going on with my dog and even let me know the reality that I may be waiting to see the vet and the price for a consult was confirmed before I drove there to ensure I had the finances. (managing my expectations!!) I arrived and was seen immediately by a nurse, the check in period was quick and easy. After maybe ten minutes we saw the vet! Everyone was friendly and understanding, making this an extremely stress free experience despite being worried about my little guy. All up, it took me just over an hour to drive, be seen by a nurse and the vet and drive home. My boy was seen to and thankfully it was nothing serious. Bonus that I was too tired and forgot to ask about insurance, but they submitted the claim for me! I could not recommend Animal Emergency Centre Hawthorn East more! They’re open 24hrs and make a stressful situation somehow feel manageable. Parking is free and under the centre with around 10 or so parks available. I found them with a random google but now I have their magnet on my fridge (I hope I never have to, but I’d go to them every time!)

Fantastic experience: We recently had to take our dog to the Animal Emergency Services and I cannot speak highly enough about everyone there and the service they provided. They were so compassionate, and saved our dog’s life, we can’t thank them enough. They even sent us beautiful flowers, along with regularly updates of our boy via text and phone!

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend AES. Very friendly, caring and professional staff on my first visit. New cat member of the family and I was concerned arrival about his toilet functions on a Saturday morning. The telephone receptionist was very helpful and understanding. The vet was equally understanding and explained all possibilities and best course of approach. All ended well and I'd have no hesitation in using their services again.

Fantastic experience: What amazing team at the animal emergency services in Hawthorn East. I can’t express how amazing the team were with my dog Patty (French Bulldog) when she was in there after the Boas surgery, there was some complications after the surgery was done. Nothing was a problem when I asked questions. They were happy to assist as much as they can. The team sent photo updates and text messages throughout the time Patty was there. Thank you again to the amazing team.

Fantastic experience: My dog Chips got diarrhea with blood, rushed to the emergency room,, it is nice place and staffs are friendly. Chips got a needle and tablets from doctor Gwendolan, finally he recovered in two days. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: At the saddest of times, we brought our beloved elderly red border collie — who was in her final stages of cancer — in for urgent advice on a Saturday, and then back the following morning to have her put to sleep as we held her. On both occasions, we were met by the friendly, professional, and deeply caring team who supported us through the entire process. They went above and beyond, providing us with a lock of hair, paw and nose prints, and a beautiful handwritten card the day after our girl’s passing. We cannot recommend this vet hospital highly enough — they made an absolutely heartbreaking situation feel gentle, compassionate, and special.

Fantastic experience: It was our first visit…My cat was in so much pain on Melb cup day, he had the worst infection and drum rupture . Animal emergency service were opened and ready! Fast , sufficient , professional and reliable in addition to having one of the most friendly kind hearted nurses Lucinda! I didn’t have to wait at all, and my cat was seen by the vet right away … it’s unheard of these days this kind of customer service with heart warming welcoming, great vets & private parking too ! this will be my GO 2 for my furr balls

Fantastic experience: Late night emergency, after a quick call on the phone we got straiggt in. Very helpful and friendly staff all round. Also much cheaper then previous visita to other centres so that was a win.

Fantastic experience: Took my dog Rue in when she wouldn’t stop vomiting. Got quickly to see a nurse who figured out it was not urgent. Had to wait an hour for a vet but she was great and resolved the issue quickly with an anti nausea shot. Dog has been healthy since, great setup for late night visit.

Fantastic experience: I recently went to the emergency room with the puppy I am looking after for my friend, who is on holiday in Europe. Lucinda was a vet who looked after us. She was exceptionally thorough and knowledgeable during the examination. At the same time, she patiently explained the situation to my friend using my phone. The whole staff was very professional and kind. It was my second visit to this clinic. Tooronga Animal Emergency is the best of all I've been to. Thank you, everyone.

Fantastic experience: We were referred to the AES Hawthorn East by our local vet after our dog ingested a toxin. The team there were true professionals and admitted our pup for further tests. The staff could not have been more attentive or kinder including calls that evening and the next morning as well as a text the following day to check on him. 100% recommendation.

Fantastic experience: I’m so grateful to the team at Hawthorn Emergency Centre for helping my cat. He was in a lot of pain, but they acted quickly and eased his discomfort right away. The staff were kind, professional, and truly cared about his wellbeing. The clinic itself is very clean and well-maintained, and the parking area is comfortable and easy to access, which made a stressful situation so much easier. It’s also conveniently located around where I live, which was a huge relief in an emergency. Fantastic experience: We rushed here early Sunday morning with Ash, on the advice of another emergency vet. From the moment we arrived, the staff were calm, professional, and incredibly compassionate. They made what was a stressful time much easier with clear communication and genuine care. What really stood out was the follow-up call a couple of days later to check in on Ash — it showed how much they truly care beyond the visit itself. I’m so grateful we found them when we did and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend AES Hawthorn East to anyone in need of urgent care for their pets.

Fantastic experience: I’m so impressed with this vet! The service was absolutely outstanding. I came in very stressed and worried about my little dog, but the team immediately made me feel comfortable and reassured. They were kind, professional, and it was clear that my dog was in excellent hands. They explained everything clearly and knew exactly what they were doing, which gave me so much peace of mind. Now my dog Pumpkin is back home, happy and healthy. I’m very grateful for the care we received and will definitely be recommending them to others.

Fantastic experience: Our dog became acutely unwell and was vomiting bile non stop and was unable to keep any water down and went off his food. We took him to AES Hawthorn East, and we couldn’t be happier with the care he received. From the admission process to our consult, all the way to his overnight care - the whole team was extraordinary. They rung us at every least every 6-8 hours to provide us updates and openly discussed his care options, and they really helped calm my husband and I amidst our high levels of stress and emotions with the situation. The nurses even sent me a picture of him and texts with updates and also messaged me following discharge to check in. He’s come home yesterday and I highly recommend this emergency care service if your pet is ever suddenly unwell and deteriorating. Thank you to all the team of vets and nurses for looking after our furbaby.

Fantastic experience: Lucinda and the team at Animal Emergency Service were amazing in helping us in an emergency with our 2 year old Whippet Noodle. He was limp, barely responsive and unable to stand. We rushed him in at 9pm and the team dropped everything to get him stabilised. They ran all the tests and had an answer for us in such a short turn around. He stayed the night and they have kept in touch making sure he is okay and providing expert advice. We are truly grateful and words can't explain how much their care for him means to us. I couldn't recommend enough. And we will always go here if we ever have any emergencies with our pets.

Fantastic experience: I attended their emergency service on Sunday after my dog injured himself and my regular vet was closed. I was really happy with how friendly and professional every staff member we interacted with was, from my first phone call with reception through to the nurse and vet who triaged and treated my dog. And the complimentary coffee then making the pet insurance claim for me was an added bonus

Fantastic experience: My cavalier Louis had eaten something off the side of the road and wasn’t feeling well. I brought him into AES, the wait wasn’t long at all. They were so kind and thorough, the vet explained everything perfectly, gave me options, and helped with realistic decisions based on my boys condition. A few hours later of rest at home he was back to himself. Definitely recommend this place, will probably make this my vet now as it’s closer than my last.

Fantastic experience: Thank you to the absolutely incredible team that treated my sweet boy. Had to take one of my kitties here for an emergency and the staff were truly so caring and lovely, made sure i understood absolutely everything they were doing and for my babies condition. The actual space was also so beautiful and calm, made the stressful situation feel so much easier. The staff also followed up post treatment to see how my baby was doing which I find so wonderful. Fantastic experience: My dog, Blue, was admitted to Hawthorn East Emergency Veterinary after being attacked by a dog. The team were calm, kind and reassuring during a very traumatic experience for both Blue and myself. We were given lots of information about treatment and aftercare. Fantastic experience: I’ve been here twice now with my boy Ravioli and the team are amazing. They treat your pets as if they are theirs and I couldn’t be happier. Fantastic experience: We raced our ever eating Labrador into this hospital after eating a loaf of raisin bread. They were fast to act, caring, compassionate and professional. The care they showed out Jasmine whilst there then the follow up was amazing. From the front counter team to the vet- they were all fabulous. Fantastic experience: I had to rush my cat (who was sneezing out blood) to AES Hawthorne in the middle of the night. I was a little more than panicked but the staff there were quick to respond, professional and had genuine empathy for Orion (my cat). They helped me stay calm through an extremely difficult situation.
