Vets in Fawkner: Reviews
Fantastic experience: A sincere thank you to Dr. Aisha and the wonderful team at Vets in Fawkner for the care you showed our beloved Pomeranian Mitch throughout the course of his life. In particular, we're deeply grateful for the gentle and compassionate way you helped to guide us through our final days with Mitch and how you treated him with such dignity in his final moments. Thank you for all you do for our pets!

Fantastic experience: These guys give you MULTIPLE follow up calls to make sure your pet is doing ok, and they are just so darn friendly. You can actually hear the concern in their voices. Won't take my cat anywhere else
Thank you for this lovely feedback, patient care is at the top of our priorities! Look forward to seeing you again soon (but not too soon!). Lucy, Practice Manager
Fantastic experience: Good veterinary advice and saved Apollo an unnecessary X-ray. Much appreciated
Thanks a lot for leaving your feedback Alfina, we appreciate it! From all the team at Fawkner Veterinary Hospital
Fantastic experience: We took our 8 German shepherd puppies to Fawkner vet for vaccinations and microchipping and the experience was excellent. The staff were amazing from the moment we arrived until the end of our visit. Friendly, professional and genuinely caring. Highly recommend Fawkner vet !!
Negative experience: I think they don't have fair pricing. After having spent $1000.00 for x-rays and blood tests for my dog, I was sent a report and results via email and also had a lengthy conversation with the vet, who explained everything in detail. I was asked to go and visit again with Ari to discuss a plan and get another check-up..I was charged $90 again. We were in there for 5 minutes and my dog was not checked. She just explained the same thing that we already knew from the report and phone conversation. I don't believe we needed to go back just for that and be charged.
Fantastic experience: Aisha is a wonderful vet, Mr Crankie (cat) has been seeing her for a few years now though at another practice, we followed her because she is so good with him, which is not easy (see name). Vets in Fawkner has a nice old worldy charm, all the staff are nice too.
Fantastic experience: Always caring and vets are very thorough. Absolutely recommend this vet to anyone we come from reservoir to this vet and there’s a vet round the corner from us. Thank you Fawkner Vet

Fantastic experience: Always a pleasant experience. Staff are wonderful. Facilities are clean. Reasonable pricing. Have been going for many years. Highly recommend
Fantastic experience: The best experiance I could have asked for given the circustance, Very friendly staff and there was zero wait time, My vet was very friendly and showed general concern for my little girl, I was very impressed he introduced himself to coco (my cat) and made her feel safe before even talking to me, I hope to find a doctor that treats me with the same level of care,
Fantastic experience: Best Vet in town! Amazing staff very knowledgeable and take everything into account on every visit. Special thanks to Dr. Kenneth, who helped identify issues before it became bigger, on a regular completely unrelated consult.
Fantastic experience: Overall, reception, vetnary was more approachable, "all staffs" Able to answer few of my questions as I've never raised pets in Victoria. Laws have changed. Happy with the service given to my 5months old kitten "Fasina" Post check-up after desexed. Able to bring her in if any concerns. Waiting to have her wounds healed. Fasina is on the left side of the photo. Thank you all
Fantastic experience: We had a wonderful experience at the Fawkner vet clinic. The staff were very thorough, polite, and made us feel comfortable throughout the visit. Everything was explained clearly, and they took the time to ensure our pet was well cared for. Excellent service – highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Couldn’t be more thankful for this clinic. My puppy was vomiting and pooping blood and we took him to an emergency vet who completely dismissed us and told us to come back in 4 days for a blood test as that was their next availability. We called vets in fawkner and they were so kind and caring and got him booked in the next morning, they were so gentle and thorough with him and did a blood test on the spot for us and prescribed antibiotics and within 2 days his nearly back to normal. They will defiantly be our regular vets now!
Fantastic experience: Great service … have been very happy with the follow up since our visit. On going support
Thank you so much for your kind words, Akin. We really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us.

Fantastic experience: AMAZING!!! I love you guys! You are a god send! Maggie loves you too xoxo meow
Fantastic experience: Edit: I left this review almost 10 years ago - this place has changed a lot since then. It's easy to see why this place is always so busy. Great staff, always professional even when its super busy, and great treatment of animals. Brought our dog here on a recommendation and have been have never been disappointmented. I'm particularly impressed with how they've handled everything during the pandemic.
Hi F , it means a lot to hear your kind words. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with us.
All the best,
Fawkner Veterinary Hospital
Fantastic experience: I absolutely adore Fawkner Vets! The staff are incredibly friendly and always ready to assist. Penny has undergone numerous treatments here, and I can confidently say that this is the best care I've ever received. Even the surgical procedures have surpassed my expectations, offering outstanding outcomes and exceptional aftercare—truly the best I’ve experienced in Melbourne.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic, understanding and caring staff with excellent service every visit .
Fantastic experience: We’ve been coming to Fawkner Vets for nearly three years and have always had an all round good experience. The vets are always consistently gentle, friendly and thorough. The reception are lovely and helpful. Very happy and recommend.
Negative experience: I visited this clinic in an urgent situation after my dog swallowed a foreign object. I called ahead and was reassured over the phone that they could assist and potentially induce vomiting to help remove it. Based on this advice, I brought my dog in immediately. However, upon arrival, the experience was entirely different. The staff seemed uncertain about what to do and offered no direct treatment. Instead, I was given vague options: attempt to induce vomiting (which they discouraged due to lacking the proper equipment), wait for the object to pass naturally, or wait until it causes a blockage. I came to the clinic expecting professional medical support—not to be left making critical decisions about my pet’s health without proper guidance. There was a clear lack of urgency, care, and responsibility. After this, I was simply redirected to reception without any medical intervention or support provided. What was most upsetting is that I was charged a full consultation fee despite no examination, no treatment, and no practical assistance being given. It left me feeling that generating revenue was prioritised over my pet’s safety and wellbeing. This experience gave the impression that business interests came before animal care, which is deeply concerning for a veterinary clinic. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I cannot recommend this practice. I hope they seriously reflect on their duty of care and put the wellbeing of animals above financial gain.
Negative experience: I am writing this review with great disappointment and sadness. Our family has been coming to this place for the past 15 years and multiple pets. Our beloved Mia was let down by Fawkner Vet when she needed them the most. We rang to say that she was dying on our lounge floor and needed help to put down as she wasn’t making it through the night. They rejected us twice in the span of 30min. A vet that never has met Mia took her in in the end to end her misery. I rang and asked to speak to Lucy, the practice manger, twice and over a week now still no phone call. Lucy, you can come on here and express your sadness, yet, you have ignoring my phone calls for over a week. You do not turn your back to a dying pet. You shouldn’t call yourself a Vet clinic as you have a care factor of zero for a dog that you have known for so many years and a family that had your full trust in your staff and relied to help Mia.
Negative experience: When my grandmas dog was dying they could not make time and rejected her they said they where booked out shame on this place she is in tears and they said they could do nothing about it also I am 13 and they have been going here for over 15 years and they still could not make time if you ever want to come to this place think again I am not sure how to reply it’s not letting me so I am editing this but my mum left her number maybe a week ago and you guys said she would get a callback in the morning but it’s been 6 days and no call
Dear Nicholas,
We’re truly sorry to hear about your experience and want to express our sincere sympathy for your grandmother and her beloved dog. Losing a pet is heartbreaking, and we understand how important it is to feel supported during such a difficult time.
Please know it was never our intention to cause additional distress. There are rare occasions when we are fully booked and, as much as we wish we could help every patient immediately, we are sometimes limited by staffing, space, or medical capacity. That said, we deeply regret if our response felt uncaring or dismissive.
We value the trust your family has placed in us over the past 15 years, and we’re saddened to hear that we let you down when it mattered most. If you or your grandmother are open to it, we would appreciate the opportunity to speak directly and see how we can make things right.
With heartfelt sympathy,
Lucy - Practice Manager
Fantastic experience: Found a injured native marsupial on a nature strip while working one day I noticed it was injured and needed urgent care I wrapped the poor soul in a towel made a nest under the heater in the truck and off to the closest vet Fawkner was the closest VET They took the little injured soul without question Couldn’t speak more highly of the wonderful ladies at Fawkner VET
Negative experience: We have had pets coming to them for over 15 years. Currently we have 2 cats and 2 dogs that are patients there. Tonight my wife called to have our dog, Mia, put down after a long sickness. We were told that they could not accept her as they were fully booked. My wife, Ann, was very distraught. We contacted Mill Park Vets and they said that they would make time for her. A vet that we have never been to accepts her to stop her suffering and a vet that we have had multiple pets at refuses to euthanize our dog. No more, never going back, never recommending, would advise people never to take their pets there. RIP MIA!
Fantastic experience: I have always had a great experience with Fawkner Vet! Had to take my cat in today as he was under the weather and they were great with him although he is incredibly shy! Also very explanatory and thorough!
Negative experience: We visited this clinic for our puppy’s stomach upset a few months ago because our usual VET was unavailable. The more we think about our experience the more infuriating it is so I’ve decided to leave this review. The vet focused heavily on selling their branded puppy food and strongly discouraged the balanced, home-cooked meals we’ve been feeding him since day one. No one familiar with what goes into commercial dog food would recommend it over a well-prepared home-cooked diet—unless they’re making a sales pitch. The “medication” we purchased from here was refused by our puppy, and the issue resolved naturally within a couple of days. Disappointed with the lack of knowledge and genuine care.
Fantastic experience: My 10 year cat developed a fluid like cyst on her eyelid and I brought her into this vet to get it looked at. I was able to book her in for surgery a week later and it could not have gone any smoother. The vets were so kind and informative, ringing me to give me an update throughout the day. They also use gap pay and processed my pet insurance without a hassle. 4 days later I had her booked for her follow up, that morning her wound had become quite pussy. The vet nurse instantly squeezed me in to have a vet look at her eye and she was put on antibiotics. Her eye cleared up and she's made a full recovery. I cannot recommend this vet enough and I will be bringing my cat back in for further care if she shall need it. Words can't describe how important fantastic care can be in stressing times like when a pet is sick.
Fantastic experience: We really appreciate Dr Mk's sensitive and beautiful care of our cat. He was absolutely lovely. Thankyou Dr MK!!
Thanks for your kind words, Melissa. We appreciate your feedback and are glad Dr. MK could support you in this time. Lucy, Practice Manager
Fantastic experience: I have been taking my greyhound, Nico, to Fawkner for a few years now. They're a fantastic vet clinic and all the staff are absolutely wonderful. You can tell that everyone who works there loves animals. I've seen a few different vets during our visits and all were compassionate and knowledgeable. I always know Nico is in good hands when I take her to Fawkner. Dr Kate in particular goes above and beyond in her care. I will always recommend Fawkner Vet for anyone looking for compassionate and quality care for their pets.
Thank you for your review! We're thrilled to hear about your positive experience with our compassionate and knowledgeable staff. Dr. Kate and the team at Vet in Fawkner are dedicated to providing quality care for darling Nico! Lucy, Practice Manager
Fantastic experience: We were new to the area and needing somewhere local, we took out little 7.5 year old dog to Vets in Fawkner when he had an emergency. Since then we've taken him and our cat back for their annual vaccinations and check ups, plus a much needed teeth cleaning for our pup. All of the staff are friendly and helpful and Dr Aisha is wonderful and shows our beloved pets genuine care and concern, while also putting us at ease about the health of our much beloved family members. Communication and pricing is always very clear and the follow up phone calls are greatly appreciated. We're so grateful to have such a wonderful vet so close to home.
Thanks for the lovely review :) We are very lucky to have Dr. Aisha & all our amazing support staff! Lucy - Practice Manager
Fantastic experience: This was our first visit for our furbaby to the vet and everyone, and especially our Dr Kenneth was an angel and super proffesional. It went wonderfully well. He was kind and attentive. Thank you
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this! We are super proud to have Dr. Kenneth on our team :) - Lucy, Practice Manager
Negative experience: For today's experience @Fawkner Vet, it was terrible. My dad's cat lost weights and skins in the recent 6 months, hence we have some health concern. Booking the appointment online, we did not select which doctor as we dont know them. The system has selected Dr Mathew for us. we went there today, i told my dad cat's situation to the doctor. And he even is scared to touch my cat after i told him the cat now is little bit grumpy. Hence he asked me to hold the cat. After a very quick look and touch, he said the cat needs to do flee control and take warm pills. excuse me, i know all these stuffs, i am here for the reason for the hair/skin loss and weight loss. Then he told me the cat need to be put into sleep then they could take the skin sample from the lump area. but i need to make another booking for this , and will cost me $204. And today's consultation costed us $88. i am not happy, i took one day work leave to see the vet doctor. but i did not get the answers. if needing blood or other sample, they cannot do it now. The doctor even did not give any temporary treatment to the cat. He took the easy $88 from dad (a 84 year old pension holder). what a shame! I want to give just 1 star to the Dr Mathew only, as the receptionist is very warm and helpful. However, this experience really discourage me to be here again. i am feeling they are concerning money more than the animals.
Positive experience: Sadly this place is nothing like what it used to be when Tony was in charge 10 years ago. 'Vets in Fawkner' really has nothing to do with 'Fawkner Vets', as it used to be called, other than location and the very knowledgable receptionist Mandy. Vets in Fawkner charges more than anywhere else in the area and the vets seem to be agency staff, you never see the same one twice. They have all been nice and there hasn't been anything bad about our care, so I can't complain, but it just seems to be another ones of those faceless McVets now, all about profit. We've moved on to Broadmeadows Vet, which is old school and great.
Negative experience: Sadly, I don’t think much of this clinic any more before it changed hands it was a great place but now they’re just money based I went there for my dog was unwell. I called them to tell them that he was trying to bury himself in the backyard and I’ve come and sit down. They told me that it was okay to come in but I won’t be seen until my appointment which is in another hour. While sitting there my dog was in so much pain he was laying on the floor. He would walk somewhere else and lay on the floor again. He’s crying. I’m crying. The vet nurse is saying how she doesn’t feel fantastic. She’s feeling dizzy and so forth so I helped her out and gave us some ideas of what to do to help her feel better After an hour. They took my dog in found that he had something stuck in his bowels so they decided to keep him in and keep him on fluids. They told me that I may need to take him over to the animal hospital so I asked all the questions before. I agreed to doing anything at 2:20 pm. I rang to say I’m coming to pick him up so I can take him to the vet hospital as he will need to be in for a few days. The vet that I spoke to told me no his discharge time is 5 o’clock you can come then when I picked him up, they said he was fine just to keep an eye on him at 8 pm. I rang the hospital and they told me to get in there urgently. I finally got him to the animal hospital. He had to stay for quite a few days. I no longer have my dog. He’s going to heaven now. I sometimes think if I had of taken him, at 2.20pm would he be alive now? My dog was at the Vet from 12 o’clock till 5 o’clock on a drip as he was dehydrated from being sick and they had no problems with charging me over a thousand dollars.
Fantastic experience: The reception ladies were very friendly and I found the vet (male) to be extremely lovely and patient who explained everything that he was doing...all in all we (my dog and I) had a nice experience. I absolutely recommend this clinic
Fantastic experience: We always are very satisfied with the help we get from you as our Gemma is always very happy after visitation
Fantastic experience: My beautiful fur baby (14 years old) lost the ability to use her back legs. We came to the decision to have her put to sleep. Our hearts were broken, but the people at the Fawkner Vets were fantastic, took so much care for her, and treated her as if she were their only patient. She closed her eyes and left this earth hopefully, knowing she was very much loved. We had her cremated, and after two weeks, she was back home in a beautiful tin and which was also put into a lovely blue felt material bag. These people showed us so much empathy and love. I thank them for making this horrific decision easier.
Fantastic experience: I have been taking my fur babies to Faulkner veterinary clinic for 54 years and cannot recommend them highly enough, most sincerely cherrie
Fantastic experience: Fawkner vets have given our pet, Arnold, gold service. He has been treated exceptionally well
Fantastic experience: My family has been attending this clinic for many years. Very reasonable pricing schedule and we’ll worth the extra travel for us
Negative experience: Last year we were new in the hood and I bought my mini dachshund for his yearly vaccination. We had a lovely female vet (sorry I don't remember her name) and the service was excellent, that's why we were back. Only to have this new vet giving disgust face expressions and condescending answers to genuine health concerns. Needless to say I don't need this kind of behavior when its related to my dog's health. Seems like the University of Pretoria is excellent at education but doesn't teach anything about costumer service for your patients? Or maybe you skipped that class Dr. Seipone?
Fantastic experience: I’m so sorry, I don’t know how that last review happened! I must have pressed a button on google maps by mistake! You guys are the best vets we’ve ever had!!!
Positive experience: I have been going to vets in fawkner for 8 years with my jack Russell Cross Beau.Wanted to bring to attention how wonderful [email protected] have been recently.Beau has had a problem with his teeth recently and want to praise all staff ,reception and Drs.on being very professional and emphatic on each visit ,making Beau comfortable and also mum.Thank you everybody. Much appreciated.
Negative experience: Writing a review about an experience I had a year ago regarding the receptionist which has left a bad taste in my mouth since. As a first time cat owner with a one year old cat, I had noticed that my cat had blood in her urine which first led me to google where it was telling me that it’s a symptom of a urinary tract infection. Panicking, I called Fawkner vet where I had initially taken my cat for her vaccinations and to be dessexed. On the phone I told the receptionist what had been happening ending it with me saying “I think it might be a UTI but I’m not sure??”. Instead of assuring me or at least sympathising with me (I was clearly stressed over my cats health) the receptionists immediate response, in a judgemental and accusatory tone was “okay so you’re not cleaning the litter box”. Her response shocked me and I was at loss for words. I was speechless as she displayed no empathy and went on to tell me that I’ll have to be put on a cancellation list or the next available appointment was a month away. I was already put off by her comment, especially the way she immediately assumed it was the way I care for my cat which is causing her issues when we didn’t even know if it was a UTI or not, not knowing that I clean her litter box everyday and deep clean weekly. The way she was speaking to me was so demeaning and I ended up looking elsewhere for help. After taking my cat to a different vet, we found out she had bladder stones (not even due to hygiene) and she was treated immediately and has been healthy ever since. I have never been back to Fawkner vet and I really hope the other reviews I’ve read about this rude receptionist have been taken into consideration, especially as her job requires her to be the first point of contact with other pet owners who are clearly concerned over their pets health.
Fantastic experience: Dr. Ming Kang Ong is truly exceptional. On May 23, 2024, I visited Fawkner Vet Hospital because my cat had developed an eye infection. Despite initially seeking help elsewhere due to being out of the area, I returned to Fawkner Vet unsatisfied until I met Dr. Ong. He attentively listened to my concerns and recommended a different course of antibiotics. Recognising the severity, he also suggested consulting a specialist and provided recommendations. Dr. Ong's dedication didn't stop there. He went above and beyond by contacting his overseas lecturer for advice, even though success was uncertain. Remarkably, on June 12, 2024, Dr. Ong personally emailed me with a treatment recommendation from his lecturer. Although the exact medication wasn't available locally, Dr. Ong promptly found an alternative with comparable ingredients. What truly touched me was Dr. Ong's genuine care. Even after hours, he called to check on Milo's progress and discuss her well-being. Thanks to Dr. Ong's expertise and compassion, Milo's recovery exceeded expectations. Without his intervention, Milo might have lost her eye. I cannot praise Dr. Ong highly enough. His exceptional care and willingness to go the extra mile made all the difference for Milo. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Ong and the dedicated staff at Fawkner Vet, particularly Emily, whose kindness, friendly nature every time Milo went in for an appointment. I have attached photos from the before and after treatment and one of her today 2 months since I visited Fawkner Vet. Thank you, Dr. Ong, and everyone at Fawkner Vet, for your outstanding care and bringing my girl back to health. Lily Katoanga (Caroline Springs)
Negative experience: Money hungry VET I have been a customer at Fawkner Vet for over 15 years. All 3 of my dogs have been going there. We originally had our dog booked in for surgery which they required $100 deposit, which we paid. We had to cancel his appointment Before the appointment. Which I did and said I will call back to reschedule. Never gave them a date as I told them I’ll let them no when we are ready to go ahead. Today I went in and got my dog seen again. For the same surgery,As I went to pay for fee they said I had to book his bloods they need another deposit. Also the surgery was also another deposit. Which I was fine about. I mentioned to them I had already paid deposit of $100. The receptionist said no sorry you never called to cancel so you have lost your deposit. Which was a big lie!! The vet took me into the room and said we can talk inside so other customers didn’t hear what was going on. Which I shouldn’t have done. Honestly never been so upset. Receptionist was such a rude person. Ugly customer service. Just be aware of there charges. If you end up putting a deposit and need to change it make sure they put a note down. As they never did with me. They also couldn’t find my dog’s history at the start as I mentioned they already quoted me up. It doesn’t make sense why would you take a deposit if you dont have the clients history from the start. You are just a number at the clinic!!!
Fantastic experience: The kids and I took our pet here for a sad farewell and the staff were very caring and considerate, especially of the kids who had lots of questions and a few specific requests. Thank you for lovely service.
Fantastic experience: Fawkner Vet Clinic has been a caring and attentive one when comes to looking after our cat. Highly recommend if you need a veterinary for your beloved pet!
Fantastic experience: Staff are quite friendly and their service is quick and professional unlike some other vets. Definitely recommend!
Negative experience: We have been taking our animals to Fawkner Vet for many years. Unfortunately the change of ownership has significantly caused a decline in the quality of service. My dog has been receiving arthritis injections called Cartrophen for the last 5 years, however new management had changed the arthritis injection to Synovan. During 2 visits to receive the injection, neither the vet, nurse or reception staff informed us of the change. Invoicing still stated that my dog received “Cartrophen”. After my dog had an adverse reaction to the injection, and further investigation was conducted to find out the cause, we were then told that she had received a different brand of injection. Extremely disappointed, frustrated and disgusted in the fact that no systems or policies were in place, followed or updated to ensure clients were made aware of the new drug being administered. Entirely misleading information. Will not return.
Fantastic experience: Took Teddy in for his yearly check up & his vaccination, it went really well he was a very brave boy & his Vet Dr Madeleine was amazing
Fantastic experience: The staff here made our very sad day today into one that we will never forget. Huge thanks to Mandy that made us feel at ease from the moment we walked in to our Vet Dr Paige who is without a doubt one of the most caring and professional vets that I have ever come across. Thank you so very much for making our miserable day that little more tolerable
Fantastic experience: My dog had a lump removed here at the Fawkner veterinary. The staff are all so lovely and warm. I felt so comfortable with them. Bonnie has recovered really well. Thank you for looking after her.
Fantastic experience: Friendly, knowledgeable & caring. Take the time to understand the issues, get to know your pet & explain best way forward.
Positive experience: Have been going to Fawkner Vet for over 35 years and dealt with Mr Gilbo and then Tony Meese. Always found them to be the best. Prices were cheap compared to other vets. Fawkner Vet has definitely changed since Tony left. I met Natacha today and found her to be very thorough, knowledgeable and explained a “plan” going forward for my cat. Prices are more expensive though. Consult has doubled in price since Tony left.
Fantastic experience: Reception staff were accomodating when I arrived 10 mins late for my appointment. They advised me on the process of how to arrange a dental checkup. The vet I saw was knowledgeable and friendly.
Fantastic experience: The vet and staff were so helpful and so nice to deal with It really made a difference
Fantastic experience: We have been taking both our cat and dog to this vet for a while now. They do get busy but will always call if there’s a cancellation. They’re very honest and prices are reasonable for their services. They also give great advice on many pet issues.
Fantastic experience: I have been using Fawkner Veterinary Hospital for over 40 years. The excellent care, advice and modern facilities has kept me very satisfied that my pets who are Family receive the Best Care for their health and well-being. Totally recommend Fawkner Veterinary Hospital. Thank you Mitch.
Fantastic experience: My dog did not display any discomfort while being checked over. I got very good advice with an intense explanation so that I could decide what course of action I should take regarding the pain free future for my dog. Thank you to all at Fawkner vet
Fantastic experience: What a fantastic bunch! It’s evident this clinic has such great passion for this industry…..they adore your pets and treat them with such care and love. I wouldn’t take my pets anywhere else - thank you to the team!!! Keep up the great work.
Fantastic experience: Easily the best vet I've ever been too and literally the only vet who isn't trying to rob you blind. They care about you and your pets and they are very well priced. The only issue is getting an appointment, it's almost impossible
Fantastic experience: Staff here at fawlkner vet are wonderful, can't recommend them enough for their fabulous bedside manner with my 16 year old fur baby. The costs involved from my visit were very reasonable , highly recommend them.
Fantastic experience: All the staff were so accommodating and understanding when it came to treating our 3 nervous pups. They showed kindness, patience and compassion throughout the entire vet experience and were happy to take on board our opinions and ideas. Furthermore, I found their prices for medication and treatments to be very reasonable. I can’t thank the Fawkner vet team enough for all their hard work, dedication and their beautiful spirits. So thanks guys! And thanks from Kane, Aura and Donnatella!
Fantastic experience: I love bringing my dogs here. They always offer good practical advice, are understanding and treat my dogs and I with care and compassion. No hard sell or unnecessary treatment.
Fantastic experience: AMAZING service great people BRUNO had soon much fun.. Mr popularity in his BARBIE outfit XXX
Fantastic experience: Great service Friendly Veterinarians and Veterinary Nurses Honest and upfront, yet gentle and understanding Everything you’d want from a local clinic all placed in a small building
Fantastic experience: Incredibly kind and gentle staff. My cat is very nervous around strangers, but she is always very calm here because the vets just radiate a love of animals and deep concern for their comfort and safety. They're kind to humans, too: when my previous cat was euthanised, the staff were all very understanding, gave us private time to grieve, and wrote a very sweet sympathy card.
Fantastic experience: On time, extremely caring, taking the time to explain things very thoroughly, gentle, thorough examination - vet review. Staff at the front desk very friendly too and professional. Couldn't be happier for my dog and myself
Fantastic experience: Very helpful with my Bull Terrier and cat, friendly and patient
Fantastic experience: The reception was terrific, I was early and they were able to put me in . Andrew was fantastic with my little puppy. He answered my questions and gave me good advice.
Fantastic experience: Dr Andrew Dallimore is an absolute gem! He was super informative, so nurturing, calm, patient and loving to my anxious kitty. Amazing experience. The ladies at reception were friendly, warm and welcoming as always ❤️. Thankyou all so much
Fantastic experience: We had an amazing experience with Fawkner vet. Our 8 week old puppy Merlin was sick so we came in for a pain injection. One of the doctors saw him and went out of their way to check on him and run a few tests. It turns out our puppy had life threatening gastro as he was so young. They took care of our boy and then directed us to a hospital that could treat him. Merlin is now happy and healthy thanks to the Fawkner team and especially Dr Andrew. Fawkner vet saved our puppies life. Thank you
Fantastic experience: The Fawkner Vet staff are very friendly. They take the best care of your fur babies. After moving from another vet a few years ago, I find that Harley is very comfortable when he visits. A+++
Fantastic experience: I had been in the previous week as my dog suddenly passed away and they were so caring and helpful with everything. My cat I adopted about 6 weeks before was a little unwell so I thought I would be safe and take him in to be looked over. They were so knowledgeable, helpful, caring and never made me feel like they were rushing me out. I'm very thankful I found this vet as I've had some bad experiences in the past at different vets. 10/5 would recommend
Fantastic experience: Andrew and all staff were very caring, and non judgmental about me not bringing my cat to the vet sooner. They genuinely loved my cat and cared for him so well. They gave me treatment options without pressure. Me and my cat Anzac had a really positive experience.
Negative experience: Reception Staff would have to be the worst I have ever come across in my life. My dog, Benson, was a previous client for 7-8 years and the clinic provided a good standard of care. I stopped going to them 2 years ago as the practice was sold to a corporate model veterinary service. Headquarters' in Sydney. The service declined as the payments went up so I decided to move on. I'm not one to write a review but the experience did leave a bad taste in my mouth. However, after today the gloves are off. Unfortunately, after a delivery service today, the driver left the gate open and my Lab got out - Benson. Someone, did the right thing and took him to the Fawkner Clinic. Frantic, after friends and I searched for my dog for a few hours, I rang the Fawkner Clinic to ask if they had been handed a dog that had been lost. They said yes. I was so relieved, described Benson ready to go and pick him up, but she interrupted and said, Oh but the microchipped failed so we called the pound. What! I asked why they didn't use his tag on his collar, that provided his name and phone number. They said and I quote: That's not our policy we ring the pound: I was gob smacked, a dog handed in locally, the so called family vet clinic and they had no duty of care or interest in finding the owner?! A Lab who is very obviously very well cared for! In fact, because Benson went there for years, I still get emails from them reminding me to bring Benson in, so they either have a tremendous staff turnover for no-one to remember Benson, which also says something about their practice, or they simply don't give a dam about animal welfare or a owners trauma when your animal is lost. Paradoxically, for the receptionist to say the microchip failed, how did they know Benson was microchipped unless they had looked up his records. Was their decision made to ring the pound because he was no longer a paying client? It begs to ask the question and says a lot about their practice and their principles. Either way, they had a phone number on Benson's dog tag and if they had any sense of decency they should have rung the number. I would have paid them for the service. That's what grieves me the most. Not the pound question, although Benson now has to spend the night in the pound as they closed their doors at 4pm, but the lack of any sense of decency and duty of care from the Fawkner clinic. Sorry, but you guys have lost the plot and you shouldn't be in the business. And as for your your reception staff, absolutely terrible attitude. And I have now experienced that attitude twice.
Fantastic experience: Elizabeth was excellent. As an animal lover, she was very caring. Very knowledgeable, and answered all our questions. Thank you
Fantastic experience: Always friendly and accommodating staff. They always make you feel welcomed and the vets really take their time during your appointment
Fantastic experience: You have understand what my dog needed to be done thanks Adding up on the 14 of March he has took the arthritis injection and he is very energetic thanks again for the Fawkner vet. Today it's the 12 of may and my dog had his 3 injection and he is looking brand new thanks for the Fawkner vet.
Fantastic experience: Glad to be seen promptly, as it was pre lockdown/covid pandemic. Prices are so much less than my local vets and always seen by a thorough veterinarian who are happy to impart their knowledge and advice.
Fantastic experience: I have been coming to Fawkner vet for years now and I have had the best experience each time. My pups love coming in and getting all the attention and I am extremely happy with the way the staff handle and care for my fur babies.
Fantastic experience: Hugo always has a very relaxed visit, and is excited when he arrives. He loved being taken care of by Andrew, who was so gentle and nurturing with my little boy.
Fantastic experience: Absolutely en pointe Trudi was superb, genuine care & love in humans & animals Emma also Free love all the way. Our dog Toto is a very lucky boy ! Thank you
Negative experience: Took my dog for her annual vaccination. The vet told me I arrived very late and she couldn't do a full examination. I arrived 5 minutes after my scheduled appointment time My dog was unsettled. The vet didn't bother examining her and barely managed to successfully give her the required vaccination and medication. Very poor. Wouldn't go back.
Negative experience: Left out of pocket $500 and my cat didn’t even get her procedure done. She became unwell in their care due to their incompetence, then they made out like they had done me a favour looking after her!! Then I’m told the procedure she was there for probably doesn’t need to be done now ♀️ and I get referred to a specialist instead. Not great at all. Waste of time, money and stress for my cat. Just a big balls up. Wont be going back.
