Cat Protection Society of Victoria Shelter & Vet Clinic: Reviews
Fantastic experience: I have adopted two cats from here over the last 27 years. Absolutely wonderful shelter. The love of my life Gorgeous was adopted from here in 1999, and lived for almost 20 years. Very kind and compassionate staff, always treated me with respect (unlike other shelters) & the kittens they adopt out seem to be very healthy and naughty ❤️.
Fantastic experience: Great vet for cats ⬛!
Fantastic experience: Amazing facility, staff and resource ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Fantastic experience: Cheapest place in melb to get your kittykat de-sexed !,i got quoted $600!by one vet ,they (cps), charged me $155!and theyre really caring and quick!
Fantastic experience: Came to get a cat and left with a majestic lump of love. Their setup is amazing and so many beauties looking for their forever home.
Fantastic experience: Caring, professional service. The felines are looked after well, and the adoption process was organised and efficient.
Fantastic experience: We had an amazing experience at the Cat Protection Society of Victoria shelter and vet clinic. We took our cat in for her very first vet appointment and couldn’t have asked for better care. The vet was incredibly friendly, patient, and helpful, and made the whole experience feel calm and reassuring. Our cat received her first vaccination and was clearly treated with so much kindness and professionalism. To top it off, she had a little accident inside her carrier, and the staff were so compassionate, they cleaned her up straight away and even gave us a fresh, clean blanket for the drive home. That small act of care really meant a lot. You can truly tell how much they care about the animals and the people who love them. We’re so grateful and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone.
Positive experience: This is the best experience. Even though the staff are busy they have the professionalism to handle everything calmly and smoothly. Making me feel special at all times and that I was in the best place with my pets. I highly recommend bringing your cats here for the best care. Also if you can and have do donate whatever they need mostly money but toys, towels blankets carry cages anything you can spare. Thank you for your love and care.
Fantastic experience: This is an absolutely amazing rescue shelter and vet clinic. We adopted our two rescue kittens from here a few months ago and we were so thoroughly impressed with the care they had been receiving, as well as the set up of the entire place! Staff were so friendly, informative, and helpful too. Would highly recommend this shelter for anyone looking to adopt a rescue cat or anyone seeking a new veterinary clinic for their existing cats.
Fantastic experience: I adopted 2 gorgeous kittens from here a couple of weeks ago. The process was so easy and everyone on site was extremely helpful and patient while I navigated the process. The cats here are so well looked after and the premises is kept pristine. If you are looking for a cat I would highly recommend visiting here first, they really do an amazing job!
Fantastic experience: Really lovely set up, attentive staff and very clean facility
Fantastic experience: They clearly love cats almost as much as I do
Fantastic experience: 3 years of visits and nothing but great experiences. All the staff are super friendly and Vet Peta’s gentle, caring approach makes check ups easy - and our cat has definitely learned where the treats are kept!
Negative experience: Extremely disappointing experience – poor communication and unprofessional staff About a month ago, our family met several abandoned kittens that were being fostered by a volunteer from Greensborough Cat Protection Society. One ginger kitten especially captured our children’s hearts. We were clearly told that the kitten was too young to be adopted and would need another month in foster care before being returned to GCPS for desexing and adoption. During that entire month, our children followed the progress through photos, named her, worried when she was briefly unwell, and prepared our home by buying beds, toys and supplies. We made it very clear from the beginning that we wished to adopt this specific kitten and were happy to pay a deposit to secure her. I visited GCPS three separate times, explaining in detail that we live in Dandenong (1.5 hours away) and had come across the kitten only by chance through one of their volunteers. Each time, we were told something different: * First visit: told no deposit could be accepted until the kitten returned. * Second visit: told the kittens were being desexed and to come back the next day. * Third visit (Dec 17, 39°C heat): we arrived at around 3:10pm with our children finished their school, only to be told that kitten had already been adopted that morning. Our children were devastated. Trying to salvage the situation, they chose another kitten. At this point, a male staff member was dismissive, impatient and unhelpful, repeatedly suggesting it was “too late” despite it being well before the 4pm closing time. He claimed the front desk was “unavailable,” which later proved untrue. I went to front desk myself, a kind staff member named Cathy assisted us professionally and began the adoption process. However, the same male staff member returned and abruptly refused the adoption, giving shifting and unclear reasons (UR number not ready, not enough bonding time), and insisted we return the next day — despite knowing we had travelled 1.5 hours, with children, in extreme heat, and it was still before closing time. We left with our children in tears, for the second time in one day. This review is not about “missing out on a kitten.” It is about: * Poor internal communication * Inconsistent and misleading information * Lack of empathy * Unprofessional and discourteous behaviour by a staff member * Complete disregard for families and children who were emotionally invested Animal welfare should include compassion for people as well. Sadly, our experience showed the opposite. I would strongly caution families to think carefully before engaging with this organisation especially with this male staff member.
Positive experience: Great services for cats at the vets.
Fantastic experience: Adopted our 2 cats here, they were a bit older and they've settled in nicely. They're really informative and helpful, we love our two new adopted cats.
Fantastic experience: Great place, staffed by people who seem to genuinely care about what they're doing
Fantastic experience: Thank you Peta for your beautiful caring nature towards our boy. Totally recommend here for your cat fur babies ❤️
Fantastic experience: Amazing experience they were amazing with my cat
Negative experience: Went to see the vet because of my cat limping, so wanted him checked, she poked him a few times and said let’s put him on painkillers , um what about taking his temperature, checking his heart rate to see how he response when touched, blood work, absolutely nothing was done , painkillers are not treating the root cause and you did nothing to find the root cause , you should be ashamed !!
Fantastic experience: Lovely place to look at cats and potentially adopt one!
Fantastic experience: We adopted our beautiful cats from here, and also foster a cat, and we are very thankful.
Fantastic experience: Great for cat balls crispy and the stanky mankiest chewable kitty litter buy it by the bag n add butter of course and tour the lovely place
Fantastic experience: Staff in the vet clinic are so kind and caring. They were so gentle and sweet with my sick cat, and went above and beyond to help in anyway they could, in a pretty hopeless situation.
Fantastic experience: Excellent service, friendly and very helpful, couldn't ask for more. Happy to answer all your silly questions. True blue.
Negative experience: Cat protection is a joke just as bad as the lost dogs home,, contact a cat rescue people at least they have compassion
Fantastic experience: The ladies there are absolutely amazing and my boy was so we'll taken care of that I'll be taking my girl there next!!
Fantastic experience: We have had our Toby Toebeans (formally known as Fred) for 7 months now. He is nothing but playful, loving and hilarious. Definitely an orange cat. He started off super shy and hid away into corners as you can see in the first few photos. Now you wouldn’t be able to get him into one! Thank you to cat protection society for giving us our furry friend and all the information about his health. They are very informative and take each cat as individuals caring for their needs. I would definitely recommend adopting your furry friend from here!
Fantastic experience: Wonderful place, affordable prices for lower income, friendly staff.
Fantastic experience: The only complaint I have is that they have only one location and that its a little far. Though they are worth the travel for how good they have been from the amazing staff to the amazing work they do rehousing surrendered cats and there vet clinic. Your fur babies are in good hands here.
Fantastic experience: We got our two handsome brothers here in May. Leo and Lucifer, they are divine and have settled so well into our family. Thank you so much for looking after them with such love and care until we got them. We feel truly blessed to have pour little fur kids. They love to sunbake amongst the trees in our purpose built catio. Yes they are spoilt!
Fantastic experience: Great Vet and this is where our 2 girls came from.
Fantastic experience: The upmost care is given to cats/kittens at the shelter. All efforts is to give them a second chance and get adopted. Highly reccomend this vet/adoption shelter for you feline
Fantastic experience: Couldn't be happier with my adoption of Ben, who is purring loudly on my lap right now. Ben, an absolute smoocher and big hearted senior, was understood and cared for with the greatest of love and expertise by CPSV. Thank you!!
Negative experience: Got two cats from here over 15 years, both with cat flu. Years later thought I would try the vets, to get my cat desexed. More problems, costing much more than a local vet. Don't do it.... go to a local vet.
Fantastic experience: adopted greta over 9 months ago, but she’s come out of her shell so much and has become such a loving little lady
Fantastic experience: Best place for your cat and to find another cat!
Fantastic experience: The people that volunteer here are so passionate and really care about these cats, wonderful environment ❤️
Fantastic experience: After many years with our local vet a friend recommended The Cat Protection Society. We have been taking our cats there for the past three years and the experience has been nothing short phenomenal. From the front office staff to the vets (special mention for Dr Peta). A number of times I had some queries which were followed up very quickly and efficiently. You are comforted to know your cats are in the best possible care. A very professional organisation.
Fantastic experience: A Place Full of Heart and Purpose I highly recommend the Cat Protection Society to anyone who loves animals or is looking to make a meaningful difference. This wonderful organisation does incredible work caring for cats in need — from rescue and rehabilitation to finding them loving forever homes. The staff and volunteers are passionate, kind, and truly dedicated to the wellbeing of every cat in their care. The facilities are clean, well-managed, and welcoming, making it a pleasant experience for both visitors and the animals. If you’re considering adopting, go visit — you might just meet your perfect furry companion! And if you’ve got some spare time and love to give, go volunteer. It’s an incredibly rewarding way to give back, and you’ll be supporting a cause that truly matters. This is more than just a shelter — it’s a safe haven filled with compassion and second chances. ❤️
Negative experience: Disappointing. Had a wonderful experience on the phone when I spoke to the nurse on Thursday. Unfortunately, she does not work on Friday! We took our stray kitten to be neutered. The explanation of what to do post-operatively was poor. They treated the kitten with Advance which does not treat tape worms, then told us we should treat him because he is likely to have them. When asked why they used Advance, we were told 'that was all I could find'. He was seen privately and we paid for this, but were not given an option. We had been told by the lovely nurse on Thursday that they would consult with us before treatment. We told them that we did not want him to have a tattoo in his ear (he has white ears). They convinced as to do so and said that they would tattoo him as low as possible to reduce visibility. They didn't. The tattoo looks like a big smeared blob. The poor thing had kitty litter and poop on himself (it was hard to catch him). They had him sedated and didn't wipe it off. Why? Told us we would have to do it even though they knew how skittish he was. Would never go back. If I am going to be treated with indifference, I would prefer not to pay for it and go elsewhere.
Fantastic experience: Took us ages to decide which pussycat was to be our new fur-baby. Nice set up in the new premises and very clean. Process is very thorough and you need to allow a few hours from entering, spending time with a potential and going home. Good details on each cat with personality traits listed for those who have been there a while and the staff have had a chance to get to know. I would suggest you don't go by the photos they post. We saw one cat that looked awful in the posted photo, but looked beautiful face to face. Just like us, if you don't take a photo from our 'best side', we look terrible! Thanks for all your hard work. We love getting our cats from you.
Fantastic experience: Excellent customer service, informative and gentle vets. Affordable services. I wouldn't go anywhere else ever
Negative experience: I wish that I could leave a better review. Last year I attended the cattails and cocktails fundraiser event, which included a silent auction. Wanting to support, I placed bids on a few different items and was successful. So you could imagine my surprise when the cat bed that I won was quite literally scooped up and taken away by someone else, and nothing was done… Not to worry though, I was contacted by the Cat Protection Society and an arrangement was made to have a brand new cat bed made and sent to me instead. After a lot of back and forth over MONTHS, I never ended up receiving the bed, so I requested a refund instead. It has been almost 12 months and I still have not received the refund… the marketing manager went completely silent on me, ignoring all of my emails asking for the refund and if it had been sent. It’s a real shame that trying to support a not for profit organisation has ended up with being treated this way instead. Looking at some of these reviews, you guys really need to lift your game. What an absolute mess
Fantastic experience: Great place if you're looking for shelter cats. They are all cared for very well, no cats seemed stressed when we were there, and they have great spaces for cats to spend outside their enclosures.
Fantastic experience: Just a week ago I enquired about a kitten named Teddy and the following Saturday before Mother’s Day I came in for a visit with my partner and his brother to meet Teddy. At first he was a very shy and timid cat but after bringing him home he’s brighten up my roommate’s cat Padfoot life after he sister had left us and has become a baby brother to him. The staff at the shelter on the day I adopted him were amazing and friendly as I had been waiting for over 4 years to adopt my first cat from your shelter. Teddy is the one on the floor in the photo looking at his new big brother Padfoot.
Negative experience: Booked in to adopt a cat(via phone and email) we had seen prior, confirmed a time to pickup, pay and sign same day(approved by Cathylee Marks - Adoptions Supervisor). Was told an hour prior(via email) that they gave the cat to someone else today(while I was on my way there). Absolutely wasted my time organising anything. If you go here don’t have any expectations, they’ll waste your time given the chance. Complete lack of respect. Not even offered a chance to prepay or deposit to secure.
Fantastic experience: Purchased a rescue kitten from here and she is great, staff were very helpful with choosing a kitten.
Fantastic experience: I adopted my beautiful kitten Alice formally known as Gloria she’s a sweetest and gentle cat. I had a great experience at this place by choosing the right one for me as I had a small child. All the staff are very helpful and thorough. The whole process of adopting went smoothly and well explained. Once again thank you for the help it was absolutely amazing.
Fantastic experience: I'm very pleased with adopting my kitten here, everyone was so accommodating so lovely, Highly recommended
Fantastic experience: Got my baby boy from here. Lots of beautiful kitties ready for adoption.
Fantastic experience: The new premises are much larger and we use the vet services there. You can volunteer to just socialize the cats and can donate old, clean towels and newspapers here too
Fantastic experience: I honestly have had the best experience with Cat protection Greensborough from the first time I called a few days ago the staff particularly Kim has been so amazing they have gone above and beyond to help me and my little fur family. I’ve never been in a vet who has shown so much care and love and didn’t just make it about the money they made it a fantastic experience all the way and I am happily going back with my other girl in a few weeks and would never really take my cats anywhere else probably ever again as the compassion and knowledge they shared was amazing. I honestly can’t express how grateful I am - highly recommend. Thank you team. I am so grateful to you all Kristy DEGIORGIO
Fantastic experience: The staff are so so friendly even our cat felt it. Amazing customer service with answers to all our questions regarding our cat .Thank you ladies ⭐️
Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience with the Cat Protection Society this morning when I dropped off a lost/abandoned kitten. Jan was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and handled everything with so much care. It was clear she truly loves what she does and is dedicated to giving every cat the best possible chance at a happy life. The facility is spotless, well-organized, and designed with the cats’ comfort in mind. Knowing the kitten was in such good hands gave me so much peace of mind. If you’re looking to adopt, donate, or just support a great cause, this is the place to go! Hats off to all the staff, you're truly amazing! Cheers, Bianca
Fantastic experience: Always so lovely and friendly! We foster and have had the best care every time
Fantastic experience: We lost our gorgeous Siamese cat after almost 16 years and found that our home just felt a little empty. I had been monitoring the Cat Protection Society website hoping against hope that we would pick up another Siamese and it was fate, we found our gentle Siamese by fluke! We used the online booking service to secure a meet and greet with Stanley. We arrived 15 minutes early and Clara escorted us through the facility to Stanley’s abode. Poor darling was terrified. He had come to the facility after running away from his previous owners. We fell in love instantly and proceeded with the adoption. Clara was gentle, attentive and efficient. The Cat Protection Society ensured that Stanley was vaccinated, desexed and he was microchipped. They offered us a discount on Royal Canin & provided us with a cat carrier. We have now had Stanley with us for three weeks. He has gone from being terrified and hiding from us to now recognises his new name, Kobe, and knows where the fridge is and what it dispenses! He enjoys playing with his toys and has just started to enjoy a cuddle on the couch! Thank you to the team at The Cat Protection Society, you are doing wonderful work for the community, for cats and for us! Kobe has brought our family so much joy!
Fantastic experience: Wonderful staff, a calm environment, understanding of the cats needs/welfare. I will be returning in the future.
Fantastic experience: I foster kittens that they rescue from pounds that were going to put them down. They have an excellent system set up, and they provide all the food and litter and anything else you might need. So we get to have fun with kittens, and they have room freed up for saving more cats and kittens. We socialise them until they’re ready for desexing and adoption.
Fantastic experience: Great place to adopt a much needed home for cats of all ages.
Fantastic experience: My Salem came to live with us at 8 weeks , he is now 7 months . I live in Heidelberg Heights so the Cat Society is reasonably close , they are the only vet Salem has been to, he has all his shots , microchipped, neutered it’s all been done with them. I would not take him anywhere else, they are fantastic and really care about all the cats that pass through their door. I highly recommend the pet care they offer. Because he was so little when I got him , I worried about every little thing and probably a little too much . I am sure he had a couple of unnecessary vet visits the first 3-4 months , but my worry was never dismissed and I was always reassured with each visit. Thank you to all the staff there , if you love your cat unconditionally I highly recommend this is the clinic for their health and well being. This is my beautiful boy when we first brought him home and this is him now.
Fantastic experience: Amazing friendly staff, very clean, overall great atmosphere.
Negative experience: I have always trusted Cat Protection Society Vet Clinic with my litter of kittens for vaccinations, worming, microchipping, and desexing. Over the years, the staff has been absolutely amazing—friendly, professional, and dedicated to the health and wellbeing of my cats. However, my most recent experience was deeply disappointing. During my visit today, I encountered a vet, Dr. Lucy Uren, whose behavior was highly unprofessional. She not only belittled me but also demonstrated a lack of care for my 8-week-old kittens. Despite my best efforts to manage the situation while holding my 5-month-old baby, she allowed the kittens to roam freely on her desk. This resulted in multiple instances where the kittens fell to the floor, leaving them visibly shocked and stunned from the height. Her handling of the situation was careless and deeply concerning. To make matters worse, Dr. Uren repeatedly questioned my care for my cats, implying I wasn’t diligent about their health. Despite explaining to her that I consistently worm my cats before and after pregnancy, she ignored my explanations and continued to undermine me. Her dismissive attitude and condescending remarks made what should have been a routine visit incredibly stressful. While I’ve always valued the clinic for its friendly and caring staff, this experience has left me questioning the consistency of care provided. I hope the clinic addresses these concerns to ensure every vet upholds the high standards the clinic is known for.
Fantastic experience: What a wonderful place full of heart great living conditions for the cats excellent staff and the most precious Kitty's around
Negative experience: Unfortunately my cat has some post op complications so went today for a checkin, and i have never felt so belittled by a vet in my life. I’m obviously upset as this is very distressing to see a post op infection on my little girl, and have been doing my best to manage it whilst the clinic was closed, only to be met with a complete lack of empathy and compassion. i’m grateful that they’re fitting me in for a fix up despite their busy schedule, but if it wasn’t for the price, i’d be going elsewhere. no fault of the front staff, they’ve been lovely, just very very disappointing in the vet/vet nurse i spoke to today. I’m not an idiot, so don’t talk to me like one.
Negative experience: Several bad experiences with this vet, seem far more interested in trying to upsell you their food, feliway, constantly saying I need to rebook for things I book my cat in for, paying for visitations where they don't do anything except tell you to come back, MASSIVE markups on medication. Worst part is, they completely ignored very obvious signs of a chronic illness despite me constantly pointing it out, again pushing me to buy feliway and their food. Sadly by the time I took my cat to a vet who cares, it was too late to manage her condition. Take you pets to a vet that isn't trying to fund their shelter.
Fantastic experience: Had my boy Ragdoll pumba castrated yesterday . They were fantastic not to mention they have a cat desexing discount with pension card $80. With meds to go home with. My boy is doing wonderfully thx lady’s
Fantastic experience: It is now, 7 weeks, since our wee Eira, joined, our family. From a timid, shy cat to a!!! Crazy, funny, entertaining, oh yeah, crazy, (we have called her our wild thing, I think we love her), snuggle puss. She has spent the last 5 weeks, travelling the roads and took to caravanning like a duck to water. She walks on a lead, sleeps in our bed, rules the house. Thank you for allowing us to adopt her. What a great society. Love, Eira's slaves Colin & Gaynor
Fantastic experience: They do a tremendous service here at the clinic, it was very lovely to visit.
Fantastic experience: Staff are caring. Vet service is fantastic.
Fantastic experience: I adopted my cat here last year and it was a fantastic experience. Came back recently to take her for her yearly vaccinations and it was so quick and easy! Highly recommend!
Negative experience: My experience with this organisation was horrendous. My 4 yr old cat (who is microchipped) went missing and was adopted out to a retired lady as an '11 month old kitten' ($149 instead of the adult rate of $39). The lady I spoke to from Cat Protection Society was incredibly rude to me & not interested in taking any responsibility for the wrong they did even after admitting to me they knew she had a microchip, scanned it and didn't bother trying to get in contact with us. Lucky for us, the person who adopted her was my mum's friend. We have now broken that poor little old ladies heart and had to pay her the money ourselves because this organisation didn't refund her. I asked the lady from CPS to escalate this situation so it doesn't occur again in future, she refused. Horrible, horrible, horrible experience.
Fantastic experience: Calming environment, has everything for your cat. Vets are knowledgeable, friendly and love their patients. Prices are somewhat reasonable. I recommend this establishment for Veterinary care.
Negative experience: Theirs no Cat protection in Cat protection society. They will lie and say that they will look after the best interest of cats and they do not do that. Shame on you running a business that's meant to protect cats but doesn't always do so . They will take advantage of low income individuals by exploiting them for money at any opportunity they can get even My advice take your pets somewhere else as this Cat protection society I don't recommend .
Fantastic experience: Awesome, best place to adopt a cat or kitten, just go there, they are fabulous.
Fantastic experience: Staff are very knowledgeable about the cats in their care. We were well-matched by staff with the cat we ended up adopting, and were allowed lots of interaction time with her before deciding and finalising the adoption. We had a significantly better experience here than a lot of other shelters, the facilities were great and cats seem well cared for and happier too. Highly recommend this place for adoptions!
Negative experience: Whatever the initial intentions and good will of this place was to help cats that are in need has mostly gone. Cats that are most in need are not in a good state and are expensive and not re-sellable. As with most things in a profit driven community, this unfortunately means that places like here will not help with the most vulnerable cats as I have tried in the past, and mostly with younger, healthy cats that are able to be adopted and sold easily, while at the same time leaving the most vulnerable cats out there continuing to suffer.
Fantastic experience: First time visiting this place as volunteer. I am very impressed with the cleanliness, caring environment and the professionalism demonstrated by the staff. I can feel that the cats are in very good hands and people who come here for adoption will surely have no worries about the cat well being while they are there!!! Special thanks to the CEO, Georgia and Chloe for welcoming us to the centre and showing us around.
Fantastic experience: I’ve got my two boys from this amazing place, 100% recommend this place to anyone looking to adopt a pet
Fantastic experience: Great service at the Vet clinic. Very knowledgeable and professional with a real passion for cats.
Fantastic experience: Good and prompt service. With the help of cat protection we managed to reunite a lost cat with their family. Good job
Fantastic experience: This is the most humane, personable, and ideal place to go adopt a cat. They have fun cat merchandise too like t-shirts that I enjoy. These people care deeply about cats and they deserve your support. The CEO called me personally to say thank you for a donation - which is rare and almost unheard of now. Bravo
Fantastic experience: Best animal shelter I’ve been to, experienced. Lots of love for the cats. What you see in the adoptions ward is only 30% - 50% of the cats treated / housed there. Great staff.
Fantastic experience: My students and I had a great excursion. It was very informative and the playful kitties were a highlight
Fantastic experience: Very affordable vet clinic. Lovely vet and staff. Clear communication on status and treatment of sick cat.
Fantastic experience: Boris met Vet Peta for a quick check up and Vax. She was by far his favourite Vet to date. Normally he plays up at vet visits, but he was cool, calm and chilled.
Fantastic experience: What a fabulous organisation. Clean and modern facilities and staff that cater so well to the cats needs. Such great care. I would definitely recommend anyone adopting a cat from here.
Fantastic experience: Vet Peta was amazing nothing was too much trouble for her. I have found myself a new vet certainly will be returning
Fantastic experience: Clean, professional, great service and most importantly a safe and secure experience for our kitten. Thank you to Cat Protection Society for a great job well done
Fantastic experience: Staff and facilities are excellent . Very clean , organised and caring. The cats and kittens are well looked after and definitely the place to go too to adopt your fury friend for the family.
Fantastic experience: The work, care, love, and commitment staff put into looking after fur babies of all ages gives me hope for humanity. Keep it up team!
Fantastic experience: All of my cats ⬛️ have been rescued from the Cat Protection Society. People here, clearly all cat fans, do a wonderful job of taking care of these cats & kittens Concerned and caring staff ensure these often lost or abandoned felines find new homes with responsible and loving carers. With a new, state of the art facility - I'm talking cat condominiums, kitty meet and greet room, access to outdoor run, experienced vet consultations and a well stocked shop for all your cat supplies - this is a perfect place to visit to adopt a new furry cat friend. The welfare of cats is their No. 1 priority. Highly recommended! * This is my handsome boy, Kokoa Black, who is almost three years old. He brings me joy daily, endlessly delighting me with his antics.
Fantastic experience: Reno looks so fresh and modern. Great service. Nice and clean. Cat adoption, fostering and vetcare. With a small cafe for coffee and cake while you decide on your purrrever cat.
Fantastic experience: Lots of sweet cats ranging in ages. The staff are so sweet and helpful, always someone around to help you.
Fantastic experience: My nieces cat got hit by car on Christmas eve, in alot of pain. She tried to get him into vet, but no availability. I left message at cat protection that night...they rang me first thing on Wednesday morning. I explained my nieces situation, to the vet, and they booked him straight away! My niece said, they were absolutely, wonderful, and the vet was so caring, Friday (cat) had broken his hip in 3 places. A BIG THANK YOU, TO ALL
Fantastic experience: We got our first rescue cat from here, the staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. Very helpful, highly recommended.
Fantastic experience: Such an impressive facility/shelter housing kittens and cats waiting to go to their forever home. On-site veterinary clinic that specialises in felines, little cafe and all the goodies your furry friend could want and need. Super helpful and informative staff. Parking on-site. I was fortunate that an absolute sweetheart kitten chose me to come home with and I adore him; he's a little mummies boy. I consider myself very blessed indeed that Charlie is part of my life.
Fantastic experience: Do you have a cat? Are you in or near Greensborough? If yes to both I don't see why you wouldn't go here to be honest. The vets are, unsurprisingly, great with cats
Fantastic experience: CPS shows great care in looking after our 2 Purrfect boys, thanks for letting us have Willow for a little time We hope she has found a beautiful home to embrace her energy
Fantastic experience: We found our two lads here in June 2020 (Mocha & Charlie). Bonded littermate buddies who were approx 12 weeks old. The staff at CPSV were wonderful in explaining the adoption process; to include giving us plenty of time to visit and bond with the boys in one of their cat/visitor rooms (stocked with cat toys, benches, ledges - nicely quiet to really get to know our new fur kids. I made two visits initially to see who was available for adoption; and spent time with 3 different adult cats and kittens before choosing our two brother kittens. After a FaceTime chat with my partner; we made arrangements to adopt and returned on visit 3 to do the paperwork as well as pickup 2 cat trees, litter boxes, royal canon kitten food (their diet at CPSV), and a good selection of toys. Fair prices for the cat food and toys; the cat trees were a wee bit dear - but knowing the profit supports the CPSV centre - we were more than happy to purchase here. Future cat trees have come from Amazon - we are up to 9 at the moment across our 2 story home. Yes, most rooms have a view and resting spot for the boys! If you are looking to adopt a cat - adult or kitten - without a doubt I would recommend CPSV vs the Royal Humane Society. It was quite bureaucratic to try and make an appt to see their available cats and kittens (granted - it was at the start of Covid - but was in a non lockdown period in June 2020; RSPCA made it hard, if not off putting to adopt animals). Forever soured my opinion on the RSPCA.
