Fantastic experience: As a first-time cat parent and first-time visitor to a vet clinic, I feel incredibly lucky to have found BVP on Sturt Street. I brought my two kittens in for desexing and we had such a positive experience from start to finish. I was nervous and unsure what to expect, but the lovely team at reception guided me through everything — from the initial consultation to insurance claims and post-surgery collection. They were patient, kind, and so reassuring with my many questions. Vet - Dr Niki was gentle, welcoming, and wonderful with my boys not to mention very kind and patient with me. The surgery went beautifully — the incisions were neat and barely visible, and my kittens healed quickly without invasive stitches. They came home a little wobbly but otherwise just as happy as when they arrived. The whole process made what could have been stressful feel smooth and supported. I’m so grateful for the care shown to my boys and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend BVP to anyone looking for a compassionate and professional veterinary team. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fantastic experience: To the team at Ballarat Veterinary Practice - my partner and I want to thank you all for making Max's last few months easier on him with all of your suggestions and treatment. Monday was particularly hard so please forgive me for not remembering the names of the two vets who came to our house, but you both were especially kind and made his final moments with us so much lighter. Thank you all so much for everything. I know Max appreciated it as much as we did.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic to deal with. We found Caitlin and Stacey very caring when dealing with our Irish Setter and the subsequent tough decision we had to make. They gave us space and time when needed and were highly professional.

Fantastic experience: I have been having my dog going threw chemo and all of the staff are very friendly and my vet dr melissa is amazing threw the whole press, even though what she had done my wolfhound passed away last Friday. Dr melissa when i let her know was great. Thank you everyone for your support.

Fantastic experience: I cannot thank Caitlin and the team at the Sturt St clinic enough for taking such wonderful care of my beautiful fur baby. They were so sweet with her and did their best to keep her happy while she was hospitalised. We came in ten minutes before closing with an emergency and the team was more than happy to assist, provided excellent care and were also kind with me while I was an emotional wreck. Very happy to have her home and safe again. I’ve been to this clinic many times and they’ve always been friendly, kind and had an outstanding standard of care, Sturt St is definitely my preferred clinic in Ballarat.

Fantastic experience: It was a sad time, as my 12yr old pitbull/staffy, had complications from her tumours and her quality of life was disappearing and we had to make the hardest decision. The vet and staff were the most sincere and understanding gave us every option available and the pros&cons of each, gave us time to have think about what decision to make & stayed with us answering any questions. Appreciated every minute we had. Thank you

Fantastic experience: Sadly I had to take my dear old cat to be put to sleep. I was in tears and could hardly speak. The staff were so patient with me. They put us in a room straight away. Everyone was very compassionate.

Positive experience: This is an uncaring, over priced and ineffective vet practise. Yearly vaccinations went up over $10 in 12 months. And the vet would not even give the tablets to my animals, she sent them home with me! She was also unable to remove all the matted knots from my cat (something that is done annually for me) and apparently my dog may be ‘lame’ or have a ‘nervous condition’ but couldn’t tell because the three seated nurses at the front counter were unable to view her walk. And then I was sent away without their certificates, so now I have to go back and pick them up, because for whatever reason they can’t post them out! Could anyone care any less? Enjoy my $320+ it’s the last you’ll get from me!

Fantastic experience: Thank you so much for checking over princess she really is a special girl. She hasn't scratched since starting her tablets which i think is what we want. I'd spend any amount of money to make sure princess is ok considering the hard life she had before we saved her thats the least i can do for her. Now just to convince tom her brother that you guys are ok and get him seen too. This is the three of them Maggie princess and tom

Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful experience with Ballarat Vet Clinic. My cat had the radioactive therapy treatment for hyperthyroidism. Her follow up bloods came back perfect! Cured! The staff there were communicative and helpful and continued to communicate well with my local vet to coordinate post treatment care. I wanted to unreservedly recommend Ballarat Vet Clinic to any cat owners needing the service. I am in Geelong and Ballarat was the nearest clinic to offer this highly specialised treatment.

Fantastic experience: Ballarat Veterinary Practice really saved us! Provided a more affordable surgery than elsewhere. Professional, efficient and friendly staff, who made sure my dog felt comfortable throughout everything. Communication was excellent, they were happy for me to call during the day for updates and provided all the information I needed about his surgery and aftercare. They really care here and it shows. Negative experience: Rip off merchants these guys are. Had them come out to look at a lame cow only for them to say not much we can do, then they sent us a invoice $50 for travel which I’m happy to pay but then $198 for a consultation fee! All for something we already knew and they did nothing about! Feeling totally ripped off here

Fantastic experience: Sturt St location gives excellent service and are nice people to deal with. As do the other branches of course. Stuart Greedy is a fabulous vet...can highly recommend him..great patient manner and explains things very well. Jorge is good too.

Fantastic experience: Great veterinarians and also a nice, peaceful, and calm waiting area for pets and their humans. We have a Staffordshire Terrier with idiopathic seizures, and they have been great with him (and us) and their advice on what to do about his conditions. They are networked with other vet practices to create rotational 24 hour emergency care for your pets so I highly recommend that you get their afterhours hours number and keep it on, just in-case something happens to your furry one outside business hours.

Fantastic experience: Rescue volunteer for Wildlife Victoria. Had an emergency for a bird with a broken wing. I was treated with the utmost respect and I appreciate all the vets that treat our natives out of their love for animals. This was after hours and I still received the kindest welcome.

Fantastic experience: After coming home to discover my loved gsp with what looked like a limb threatening cut wound, I rushed the 50km odd into sturt st to have him examined and treated by the vet on staff, but was treated by one of the best ladies in veterinary nursing, there are no words to describe the compassion, patience and understanding of this lady, she is not only a credit to the practice, but more so herself, in a time of stress and helplessness steph made an effort to go well above and beyond, I can't thank you enough

Fantastic experience: I have been a client of the Ballarat Veterinary Practice (BVP) for thirty years. The vets, nurses and administrative staff are all kind and care about your animals like their own. All the Veterinary staff are highly skilled and knowledgeable whether you have large animals e.g. horse or cow, companion animals e.g. cat or dog, birds, or exotic animals. I can highly recommend BVP!

Fantastic experience: My Bull Arab x Dane had to have ACL surgery. He's reactive to vets n were new here. BVP were so helpful and our whole experience was very positive with excellent follow up visits included.

Fantastic experience: Ruth is amazing with our German Shepherd who doesn't like other people. They let us keep him outside while they sedated him so it's less stressful for everyone. Cant recommend it highly enough!

The nurses are amazing also for all the same reasons and everyone has so much compassion on the love you have for your babies.
