Fantastic experience: A very caring and experienced group of veterinarians and professional staff. Dr. Sam and staff did all they could for Lottie. No hesitation at all recommending Eastwood Veterinary Clinic.

Negative experience: DO NOT GO HERE. HORRIFIC. CRUEL. My dog died and I brought him in to be cremated. I bought the most expensive package available. Eastwood Vet Clinic ripped me off and treated me with total disrespect and cruelty. Firstly, the reception staff completely misspelled the memorial plaque, which was very cheap plastic and poorly made. It was not the gold chain and medallion I was promised. The medallion said "The Gooddess Boy Of Them" instead of The Goodest Boy Of Them All". This totally distressed myself and my young son, and seeing my son distressed again was heart breaking. When I rang in to find out how this happened, with no hostility, the receptionist admitted it was their fault and started sniffling/fake crying trying to make themselves sound pretend upset to get me off the phone. When I said I wasn't angry but needed to discuss how I had paid full price for this service the sniffling/fake crying immediately stopped and I was told the practice manager would call me to arrange something. I said thank you, I was not angry, and I waited a few days. No phone call. Nothing. Eventually after no contact I came by in person and asked if it could be resolved. There was no anger or hostility I just wanted closure on my dog's passing. I came in, said 'nobody has contacted me, i feel no hostility, I just want it resolved' and I was told 'we are doing a refund'. That sounded good. Too good to be true. On my way home the Eastwood Vet Clinic rang and said they were going to replace the plaque 'some time next week' and although manager was still not there they had decided (without the manager) there would now be 'no refund'. When I tried to explain thats not what Kelly said just 10 minutes before, I was interrupted and spoken over very rudely and hung up on. When I said how unfair this whole experience was, with no bad language or raised voice, the vet clinic kept on interrupting me- and then told me they 'didnt appreciate the way they were being spoken to' while agreeing I had not sworn or been hostile. I am not the type to yell or be abusive. I went home and cried my eyes out, again. Cruel. Rude. Ripped me off. Refused to take responsibility. I still have no idea when I'm getting the proper memorial plaque. I am filing complaints with Veterinary Practitioners Registration Board of Victoria Consumer Affairs Victoria Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal Australian Veterinary Association Office of Fair Trading Victoria. If you or someone you know has had a bad experience these are the watch dogs to report Eastwood Veterinary Clinic to. DO NOT GO HERE THEY SAW THE DEATH OF MY DOG AS AN OPPURTUNITY TO MAKE A PROFIT AND PICK A FIGHT I NEVER WANTED TO BE A PART OF WHILE GRIEVING. SHAMEFUL. PREDATORY. CRUEL.

Positive experience: Great practice that care about pets but having problems getting medications for my dog. Even though they tell us we can get refill on medication without seeing the dog when it comes time for refill they refuse. Feels like they are more in it for the money then for the pets.

Fantastic experience: Thank you dr sam and the lovley vet nurse megan who comforted and was so kind to our beautiful most loved baby boy moe in his final moments, our hearts are broken but your kindness was really heart felt and apreiciated at that moment. And Thank you to all staff that are always sympathetic your very kind.

Negative experience: I was taking both my dogs here & because the receptionist wouldn't let my partner apply for vet pay I had to do it as the dog was in my name I asked her why she said we don't do it & never have, I said to her that's a lie because the vet pay I was previously using was in my mums name & another one of ur receptionist helped us set it up in my mums phone. From this the receptionist was very rude & the banned me from using there practice!! Best thing they could have ever done as we now go to fur life vet in Smythesdale & they are FANTASTIC and heaps cheaper! I wouldn't recommend this vet to anybody

Negative experience: used to be a great vet clinic ... 2nd time they have stuffed me around with an annual appointment for vacs and health check. receptionist saturated a towel with feliway and threw it over my cat's cage without warning because he was meowing a little. vet was late arriving to work and first appointment. my cats were upset and a bit wriggly but vet insisted that next time I'd have to dose the with gabapentin. tried to upsell me on treatments not required. I've worked in cat rescue for many years ... this is not how a vet visit should go.

Negative experience: Seems to be a tremendous amount of up-selling happening here. Before they even ask what you are there for, they’re first question is. “So is your pet up to date on vaccinations?” They do not offer a prescription to get medication elsewhere as an option,therefore, their markup is astronomical on medication. EG: Medication I could have purchased with a prescription elsewhere, $14.99, they charged $73.50, big difference. Seems some vets are taking advantage of the emotional attachment we have to our pets to make monetary gains. There’s a difference between being a profitable business and blatantly ripping people off. On the positive side, they are friendly.

Positive experience: 29/04/17 Was the best vet in ballarat, fixed up my microchipping issues caused by green cross whom refused to change the name and registered my dog to my first name my mothers married name. Not my last name. And put down the wrong birth date too. The microchipping company wanted evidence of the muck up to make sure it was legitimate , greencross refused to fix it. I went to Eastwood vet and they pushed through and got it changed. My dog loves going to the vet. They give text message reminders for injections and worming. Update: I left in 2019 Regular Vet left and didn't get assigned a regular vet slowly went down hill with rude abrupt desk staff, hand over with ear infections was poor my dog was having I kept getting new swabs done before aloud to get meds costing a fortune to be given the same meds when asked why I can't try something else this clearly isn't fixing it getting told ok but we have to try this one first then come back and see me not a different vet. When I requested same vet reception staff with ignored it or said we don't do that here. After 4 Different vets saying the same thing and giving the same ear drops I was done. Vets were reasonable but said because they haven't delt with my dog before they can't go off my words. Just want a regular vet if that changed I'd come back.

Fantastic experience: Our dog had to have 13 teeth removed, under aenesthetic. Meaghan (the vet) and the receptionist both made me feel confident that he'd be well cared for. All good, with some advice on how to prevent further dental issues.

Fantastic experience: After bad experience at eureka! Where i was forced to wait in the rain for 20 mins with no shelter cos my pup barked. east wood are very caring and i would recommend them.

Fantastic experience: My cat Maya has had so much love, care and attention given to her and has been handled with care due to her chronic anxiety. This clinic has staff that throughly cater and investigate the needs of our cat the likes of which we’ve never had at any other clinic. We are forever grateful to be able to be seen here and are delighted that Maya is receiving such incredible care from staff who are so interested in her wellbeing

Negative experience: I'll admit that the care and the knowledge of the vets is outstanding. However the communication and charging is horrendous. They were explicitly told not to administer any futher medication or conduct anymore radiology without first consulting us, we then pick up our pet and recieve a bill of $450.00 for extra unauthorised treatment and radiology and are told they are sorry for what they believed to be a miscommunication.

Fantastic experience: We have been taking our vets to eastwood vets for several years and have always been happy with the service. Today I wanted to make mention of the staff member Lisa who went out of her way to make our visit easier. I had to bring my 2 year old son to the appointment as I had no one else to watch him. I was a bit worried as the vet was running behind and I mentioned he was almost ready for a nap. Lisa went above and beyond to help keep my son happy as we had to wait around longer- offering him a snack and some books. She also came into the consulting room to process my payment while my dog was getting 6her blood test. I really appreciate her understanding as how hard it can be to run errands with little children and it has something I've really been struggling with lately so I very much appreciate her help today.

Fantastic experience: Sadly our furbaby had a stroke and nothing further could be done for him. Eastwood vets were so understanding and compassionate. Cannot fault their service and support.

A week after he developed a reaction the team at Eastwood got us straight away to give him a thorough check up. They couldn't be more helpful. Update: We had to take our foster dog in today for a check up and the staff couldn't have been more supportive.

Fantastic experience: Always answers any questions you need! From calling to ask what your cats weight was at their last appointment to giving my dog her first nail cut without making it a traumatic experience for her! They are fabulous to deal with & so friendly!

Negative experience: If you value your pets life I wouldn’t bother with this place. We lost our boy in May this year. We took him to east wood as he was abit dehydrated and lethargic. When we took him for a check up all the ‘vet’ said was we will keep him over night on a drip and he will be fine. We received a phone call at 11 that he was having seizures are there is nothing they can do. We sadly had to put him down. I explained this to our new vets and they were shocked that this vet didn’t didn’t take any blood or do any other checks with me in the room. Still to this day I feel if I took him to another vet we would still have our beautiful loving man. Our family recently lost our older dog (due to old age) their vet is also east wood vets. We called their after hours vet line as where not sure the best way around getting him cremated. All we got was “sorry I’m only customer service I don’t know what to do” this is a poor excuse for a after hours emergency service phone line. Please do not go here. There is better quality vets in this town, with actual experience and knowledge.

They rang us daily to update us on her prognosis, explained the post surgery care to.us clearly, were so kind, and wonderful when we continued to ring for help. We have been going to eastwood street for over a decade, and will continue too.

Fantastic experience: Nikki at Eastwood vets thank you for the care ,understanding and compassion given when our beloved cat Poe was handed in already deceased by a caring and thoughtful member of the public.Nikki made a horrible day a little lighter when emotions were running high,I am forever grateful to Nikki and the lady who took the time to take him in to see if he had a microchip,we were beside ourselves with worry and now we can bury him at home. I was grateful that her time was free of charge and I will be calling her if our other cat has any veterinary needs and highly recommend her and the clinic.
